Can't Connect Even With Correct Username And Password
Apr 14, 2011
I am trying to connect to a preferred wireless network. The signal strength is good, and I know for sure that I have the correct username and password. It accepts the password, tries to connect, and then....nothing. I don't get any sort of message explaining why. It just tries to connect to the wireless network, then can't. It keeps trying but I never get to connect, it just says ''acquiring network address'' , and then goes back to nothing.
we purchased a new Toshiba laptop recently w/ win 7 OS and we cannot connect wireless to router using verified password. all other laptops, computers, LCD, etc. connect with no issue. we are using N response and WPA2 security settings. we have changed security from personal to auto with no success. we have also changed settings from tpik and aes - no success. we have verified the password several time to make sure and we also tried a friend's laptop running win 2000 OS and it connected perfectly with password. the strangest thing is that we managed to connect the new Toshiba wireless (secured) at our friend's house eliminating the thought of an issue with the laptop. we upgraded the firmware to the lastest version and that did not solve issue. the new laptop sees the network router and request password but, cannot authenticate to connect
I have a ASA 5520 which is intended to use as a VPN for clients using PDA, I think the PDA is a very old product that the VPN only support CHAP/ MS- CHAP, but seems it cannot connect the VPN, it will prompt "invalid username and password" (but in fact the username and password is valid when using PAP), below is the log i captured from the ASDM when the PDA is connecting the VPN. when i tried to connect it in windows PC, I also have the same issue if the VPN setting is using MS-CHAP, if I choose PAP, it can connect with no problem. But the PDA has no option of PAP. [code]
I have installed a new ASUS PCE-N13 network adapter. My problem is this: The network adapter easily detects my wireless router (full strength) so I click connect and it asks me for my p/w. I type the p/w in and my computer instantly tells me it is wrong. I know full well the p/w is right because I live with 2 other people and they both have laptops which connect no problem.
I have set up a Linksys WAG320N and while my Dell connects wirelessly my wifes Mac and my iPad do not. When we enter the password the response is that it is not correct.
I think I used an incorrect password during setup. When I setup the router, I was asked for a username with instructions to use my login ID (name@ISP) and system password. I entered the password I would use to get to my email, not the system password. How can I get back to that screen to correct the password? Now, I have no internet connection without disconnecting the router.
Both laptops on home network are Windows 7. Trying to access #2 laptop from #1 laptop. It asks for the Network Username and Password for laptop #2. The network name is 2WIRE_ _ _. How do I find the Network Username and Password?
I am fairly new to this game of configuring Cisco routers.I've done a three now, the first two were great, they achieved PPP so I was well pleased! The third one is a matter of nightmares. The ISP say there is no need for a username and password?
i just pickup a linksys wrt54gs v5 and I cannot log into it. I reset the modem and tried to log in with the default usr/pass ( usr= leave blank , pass= admin) and it is still not working . I also tried other combination of admin, administraror, password and still nothing. Any usr/password that might work? Also I though of I might get around this problem by flashing to dd-wrt or tomato do I need to do anything in webadmin to do this?
I just bought a Westell modem 6100 model online, and when I try to change the profile, I get a message saying: The server 192.168.1.1:80 requires a username and password. The server says: Modem Secure."
I use a broadband net connection. DSL Ehernet connection. I need to type a pssword and username to get connected. Anyways, that's not the problem. The problem is after powering on the modemt, the link in my modem starts to blink every 2min. which causes the broken connection. Sometimes I cant even connect to the net because the link doesn't stop to blink.. I'm unable to do anything as the connection keeps going off. There might be a question of down servers, But the others who is using the same plan as mine, not having such trouble.
I have a cisco 800 series router which I configured months back with username and password. Now I wanted to use it recently but cannot remember my username or password.I decided to use rommon to reset the password and during bootup, i hit ctrl+break which took me to rommon mode. Then i used confreg 0x2142 to bypass the startup config. It then told me to reset or power off and on the router which i did. Then on booting up again, it started showing me stuffs like these: [code]
I want to telnet a router (say) 1.1.1.1 with usename "user" and password "pass" in command line. i tried using....telnet 1.1.1.1 -l user ..........but not working
I needed to bring my laptop Toshiba satellite A135 - S4404 computer back to factory settings. When I did I lost my internet connection. I have a wireless G router. I tried setting up a new connection. When I couldnt remember my username and password to the linksys, I made several attempts to give them one.A fool hearty effort on my part. They locked me out. I was given a red X on that particular network. How to get back to where I can give them the necessary username and password?I believe I found it written on my Linksys user guide.
How do I change the username and password on my home wi-fi extender (Netgear). I can't remember my original username and password and it will not let me use the extender until I put it in.
I made a new connection with a password. And I have deleted the old connection on the "Manage wireless connections" But the old connection still appears on the Wireless connections. I don't want my neighbors to connect to the old one since it has no password, and I can't figure out how to delete it.
I want to access my wireless router settings but i don't know my username or pass its my network however I can't access it. Is there a way to retrieve it?
I have a SLM248G4S but do not have the IP, Username or password, Is there a way i can get on the unit or do a master reset without logging in to the gui?
I did not know the username and password for my DI-524 so I wanted to do a reset...used a paper clip and held the reset button for ten seconds, unplugged it, powered it up, and as per online instructions tried to type in 192.168.0.1 to access the username and password field so that I could enter "admin" and blank password. Here's where my lack of knowledge comes in. I am working off a MacBook with no Ethernet connection, just wifi. Is what I am trying to do even possible? Or does the computer I configure the router with have to be hardwired to the Internet while I do it?
I'm trying to change my username and password, but I don't know how. The manual is in Japanese, so I don't understand, what I need to do.
I have a wired router that seems to be on 192.168.1.1. When I installed the wireless router for the first time, I connected without cable, that may be the problem about the DHCP Server, but I don't know. Anyways, these IP don't work:
192.168.11.1 192.168.11.100
I don't get any access and therefore all my neighbors can use my connection right now. But the router itself works fine from the start.
i am using a D-Link 2730u, was trying to change the username and password for the router but it keeps saying that ACS URL is required, there is a place where i can put one but even after goggling it for a bit i didn't understand what should i put in there?
