Jun 26, 2012I did not know the username and password for my DI-524 so I wanted to do a reset...used a paper clip and held the reset button for ten seconds, unplugged it, powered it up, and as per online instructions tried to type in 192.168.0.1 to access the username and password field so that I could enter "admin" and blank password. Here's where my lack of knowledge comes in. I am working off a MacBook with no Ethernet connection, just wifi. Is what I am trying to do even possible? Or does the computer I configure the router with have to be hardwired to the Internet while I do it?

Aug 3, 2009I cannot access the Username and password on my WAG160N - the ones I thought were correct do not accepted, nor are the quoted 'defaults'.I have tried holding down 'reset' for 30 secs; I have tried powercycling the router after and during this; I have tried 'resetting' with the phone and ethernet connections unplugged. This is NOT returning the machine to the default settings - and neither is it 'wiping' the existing settings for my ISP.The amusing thing is - it works perfectly well, but I can't alter my security settings and I can't alter other settings if I change my ISP (as I was intending to do).

The thing is that I don't remember setting up a username and password for the hard drive at all. I can paste single files mannually onto the external hard drive without being asked for a username and password. I did perform an automated Windows backup off my other Windows 7 laptop and was not ask for a username and password. where to find the username and password information ?

Cisco Wireless :: Wap4410n - Access Point Rejects The Username And Password
Jun 25, 2010Recently I have purchased two brand new wap4410n access points.
I have connected my computer directly to one of the access points, and attempted to connect to the Web Configuration utility through my web browser.
I'm using a: 09' MacBook Pro, running Snow Leopard and Safari 5.
I can access the login screen of the access point, although when I enter the default username: admin and password admin, the login screen returns an error: Invalid username and/or password (or something to that effect). The URL changes to: http://192.168.1.245/login.htm&no=3.
I have reset the device by holding in the reset button for thirty seconds, powered down, powered up and re-attempted to login.
I still get the same error as above.
I have attempted to access the Web Configuration utility on both access points, and both access points provide the same error. I have also tried using the username: cisco and password: cisco.
Cisco, when contacted, said both access points must be faulty and I should replace them.
The probability of such an occurrence happening with two devices seems very low, and leads me to think there must be other factors at play. The only constant I can think of is the fact I'm using the same computer to access the devices.

when I try to access the router using Putty ssh, I get to the authentication screen but after entering uername and password (enable secrete and line password the same) i get access denied.

The problem is after powering on the modemt, the link in my modem starts to blink every 2min. which causes the broken connection.
