D-Link DIR-655 :: Cannot Connect To Secured Wireless Using Correct Password
Jan 18, 2012we purchased a new Toshiba laptop recently w/ win 7 OS and we cannot connect wireless to router using verified password. all other laptops, computers, LCD, etc. connect with no issue. we are using N response and WPA2 security settings. we have changed security from personal to auto with no success. we have also changed settings from tpik and aes - no success. we have verified the password several time to make sure and we also tried a friend's laptop running win 2000 OS and it connected perfectly with password. the strangest thing is that we managed to connect the new Toshiba wireless (secured) at our friend's house eliminating the thought of an issue with the laptop. we upgraded the firmware to the lastest version and that did not solve issue. the new laptop sees the network router and request password but, cannot authenticate to connect

Nov 27, 2011I have access controls setup on my DIR-825 which work fine until there is a power outage and my router comes back up.I am using Automatic Time Configuration and have the NTP server set to ntp1 [URL]When the router comes back up I checked to make sure the NTP server option is still enabled, and it is, however the current time is totally wrong.To fix this I had to go to the pull-down, select 'ntp1.dlink.com' and then save the settings. After this the time is correct again.This is as bad as not having the Automatic Time Configuration option at all, since I can't guarantee that the power won't go out. I do not have a UPS hooked up to back up the router, nor do I see why I should need one if the Automatic Time Configuration actually worked.know if there is a way of making the Automatic Time Configuration reliable so the time on my router is automatically corrected when the power comes back up?

Mar 9, 2012I have two switch SG300-10 that need to be interconnect togheter with a simple redundant "cable fail safe" configuration.My idea is use the two uplink copper port of the first switch, connected to the two uplink copper port of the second switch.
How to create a working setup configuration? The first setup that i need, is with only one VLAN1 for all ports,
The second setup is with the VLAN1 assigned to the ports 1-2-3-4 of all the two switch, (linked togheter by uplink ports)
and the VLAN2 assigned to the ports 5-6-7-8 always linked togheter with the same uplink ports.
Is possible use the two uplink port at the same time, as cable fail safe? or use a uplink port 1 for the first group and the second uplink port for second group?
I need to use this configuration for audio cobranet transport, and i need to test the correct configuration for the primary and secondary audio stream, if can work togheter on the same VLAN or i need to separate the two stream, from start to the end.
The Wireless Network Security Key Is Not Correct
Dec 11, 2011I've recently started having some odd issues with one of my computers connecting to the internet on my linksys wireless-n router from my pc. When I enter in the security settings correctly for the network I have setup here at home, it says "The wireless network security key is not correct."But I know it is, and I have confirmed on my laptop (which is using the correct settings and is having no issues at all, it's what I'm posting this with) the settings are correct. It has the correct 'Security type (wpa2-personal)', encryption type (aes), and network security key. I have restarted the pc computer and reset the router from factory settings many times, all to no avail. I've used several different linksys wireless adapters and usb slots, and it keeps on with the same issue. Kind of odd thing is, when I change the security type on my computer settings to wpa personal from wpa2 personal, and encryption type to tkip from aes, and enter the passcode correctly, it will connect to the network but with no internet access, local only. I've also connected to the wireless routers setup page (192.168.1.1.) from the laptop and confirmed settings. When I am able to connect from the pc when I change the settings and it gives me local access, I am still unable to the routers setup (192.168.1.1), so I dont know if I'm actually even connected locally when it says I am.Also, the signal strength from the network is Excellent (full bars).When I ipconfig /all ,media state is disconnected When I ping 192.168.1.1 , destination host unreachable, but received all packets with 0% loss.

Jan 17, 2012I am trying to get neighbour wireless router working. He has a D-Link DIR-615 Wireless N 300 Router. I have gotten the router working by manually putting in his PPPoE settings. Now with a wired XP SP3 computer connected via Ethernet, it can access the internet. We then configured his router for WPA2 with AES encryption. We were able to connect up his phone which can handle a WiFi connection. He was able to surf the web using the WPA2 passphrase. So far, so good. The last bit was the upstairs computer which has a PCI D-Link wireless N card in it. That computer runs XP SP2 and we have not been able to get it to connect to the internet.We have tried both Windows networking, and the D-Link Wireless management software. We were unable to get WPA2 working, so we tried WPA, WEP, and finally no security. In each case, we can get the computer to connect to the router by putting in the passphrase (except when no security), and the status changes to Connected. But then browsers are not able to open any internet site.
I have checked the ipconfig settings, they seem to be correct. DHCP is providing the computer with a valid local IP (192.168.0.102), and the gateway is correctly listing the D-Link router.Subnet mask is 255.255.255.0. The downstairs Ethernet connected computer has an IP of 192.168.0.100, so they are on the same subnet.We have tried turning "Windows Wireless Zero Configuration" service off, and also tried with it on.We have switched between using the D-Link client and allowing Windows to manage wireless settings. It finds the wireless network, and connects with the passphrase with a good strong signal, but internet persists in not working.I do not have MAC Filtering turned on.I have turned off the Windows Firewall on the wireless computer. What else am I missing?

D-Link DIR-615 :: Router Set Up Fine But Kindle Wireless Password Not Ok
May 3, 2013I bought a Kindle whitepaper that uses Wi Fi. Other than going to a free wi fi location to download Amazon books, I decided to buy a router. Everything seems to be ok at the router end I believe. But when I use the wireless feature on Kindle, type in the password I assigned to the router, it always, I mean always, no matter how many times I set up, reinstall the router, and try to log into Kindle storefront using my kindle, Kindle always returns the message "Incorrect Password". Now I don't have a problem with the router. I'll keep it for future wi fi usage. I have done an installation with no password and can then go to Kindle storefront on the Kindle but that is rather insane to not have a password while I am reading books on Kindle. Why the password I assign to the router isn't working with Kindle after I reset the router (using a paper clip method) and reconfiguring with the new username and password like 5 times already? The username appears ok on the Kindle wireless, just the password doesn't work. I'd like the issue resolved before I buy more wireless products. Great router.

A couple of weeks ago, my wireless connection was getting slower and slower. As one day it decided to get extremely slow, I decided to uninstall the wireless card via device manager and reinstall it. Once this had been completed, the wireless just stopped working. The signal bar came up with zero and had a big red X in it. It works fine with ethernet cable but just won't seem to work as a wifi connector.
I have reinstalled all drivers and everything is enabled. When troubleshooting, it comes up with a possible problem with driver. Once this has been resolved it is then a problem with the network. The router is fine as I am able to connect on every other device in the house. I even purchased a USB wifi adaptor in the event of the Wireless card packing in but this is still creating the same problem. I used system restore to roll back the laptop to a time when the wireless worked and it didn't seem to work at all.

I disabled it, but he channel settings did not change.Now if I remember correctly, before making this setting, they were all on the same channel, 6. Should they all be on the same channel? I own a TL-WR1043ND. Until recently it has been working like clock work but after a power cut it seems to have lost its settings. Currently there is a WiFi network: both my iMac and my MacBook Pro manage to create a network between them and i can access / transfer files from one to the other without any problems what so ever. My Gmail app on my iPhone also updates emails on this same network. But when i try to browse the web on both Safari or Firefox or check my email on Mail (OSX email client) I am not being allowed to do so. Its as though there is not internet connection. The same thing is happening to my wife when she is using her Nexus 7.
Unfortunately i have lost my DVD with the setup files and I am there for not managing to access the settings of the router. I have tried searching the web to find the downloadable software but it turns out the only ones that i found are for Windows only.The only way to access the web and update my emails etc is when i connect to the modem via Ethernet cable.

Jan 15, 2013Just inserted a new 5508 WLC into the network. We current have 3 4404 WLCs, and there was a need to duplicate, as much as possible, the configurations on the 4404s, and the design. The 5508 came online as expected. We moved a few access points over to it. The APs got the correct address range. The clients are expected to get addresses in the same scope range as the APs. However, the clients are receiving addresses in the management IP scope.I know there are two "not a good way to do it" in here. Why is the management address range in the DHCP scope, and why are the clients using the same scope as the APs. We are going to change that. For now, the AP and client in the same range has been going on since we rolled out wireless in 2006.The 8 ports on the 5508 are configured for LAG. There is no dedicated port for management. They tell me not to do that on a 5508.
