I am able to ping and tracert websites by name but not load them in firefox or IE. I was able to update minecraft and connect to multiplayer servers to play with others. I have checked the hosts file and am able to telnet [URL] 80 and get a reply in html. I am connected to my modem through a wireless network using a dynamic IP and have uninstalled all antivirus software. The issue started just after installing SpyHunter and running a scan with it.
I purchased the AE3000 Wireless Adapter for my PC, and has been working fine until now. When I first start my PC, my ping starts anywhere between 20-80, then after I try to access anything on the internet it shoots up between 600-1200. It just started happening about 3 days ago, but now it has gotten worse. I can't play any online games, and websites are slow to load.
I forgot to mention that all of my electronics with a browser cant load these websites, so it cant just be my laptop. I ran scans, restarted, flushed the dns and even tried changing it to a public dns (but it wont load though, so i didnt). Contacted my ISP, but they kept telling me that my internet connection is just fine. Tried changing my wifi router from a newer one that i borrowed, didn't change anything. And still nothing, it's been a week now, it's just frustrating when you have your break early with no one around + no internet D
I can't load the main page or any user profiles. Can't do it on IE/Firefox/Chrome or the in-game Steam browser. Weird part is that I can use Steam perfectly to play games, Friends system works, etc. Just the websites related to it don't load. Problem started about 2 weeks ago, went away for 5 days, but then came back (only messing with Steam websites again). I know the problem isn't Steam because all my friends have been able to use it normally this whole time. The problem is not limited to my own PC, every computer on my network has the same problem, even iPads/iPhones. I've checked for malware, came up clean; reset router to factory settings, done everything I've been able to come up with and the problem persists.
Pages seem to just randomly choose when to load and when to not load I have to F5 3 or 4 times before the page chooses to finally load. I'm also capped at around 12 ~ 17 kB/s which is ridiculous. My internet connection is bad usually anyway (around 200kB/s) and I can live with that but 15kB/s? No way.

I've had this problem for a few months now , I got bt infinty in and the engineer came set up my laptop up and whatever else he had to so (i wasnt there just my daughter ) i came home tried my laptop working and connected no problem , my internet tv was working ok and all the smart phones connected and worked ok but my daughters samsung n130 netbook connected wireless no problem but when you load up her home page using any of her browsers ie, chrome & IE it comes up then when you try to go to a web page nothing happens on chrome it says error 105 , now ive tried everything myself and by doing some research myself it seems its got something to do with the DNS but i dont know how to fix it im really starting to crack up ive seen on other forums about people having the same problem but no one seems to have an answer to it or its very complicated to understand
I have for the past few weeks not been able to load any Valve associated website to be more precise Steam website on my pc. Doeesn't matter whether I use IE, CHROME or FIREFOX. There always appears to be a Gate Way timeout error. This all started about a week ago. Yesterday I still had Steam installed on my computer and Steam Store page in Steam would also not load. Any other game website by Valve also doesn't load. THis error always appears:
Gateway Timeout The following error occurred: [code=GATEWAY_TIMEOUT] A gateway timeout occurred. The server is unreachable. Retry the request. contact the administrator.
So today I checked if its only like that on my computer, so I tried loading Steam on my parents computer and it gave me the same error. [URL]
How fun. Earlier this week, my state experienced some severe weather which ended with a tree on our street falling and the power going out all day. It took a bit longer after that for our cable services to be restored - internet included. Ever since then, my computer in particular seems to be screwing things up for everyone else. When my computer is shut off, every other computer (one laptop, two desktops) in the house has been able to connect to the internet and maintain that connection all day. However, as soon as mine connects, the connection dies within minutes - for everyone.
I thought it could be an IP conflict but every machine in the house is set to obtain their IP automatically. Interestingly enough, when the XBOX 360 is bridged through my computer it (the xbox) also maintains a connection, albeit a slower one.I have reset both the router and modem, including hard resets, and I've pinged and pinged and pinged. The same thing seems to happen regardless of whether I am using a wired or wireless connection. Here's what I have:
Computer model is HP DV6838nr. Modem is Toshiba DAZ8821F. Router is Linksys wrt54g v5. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate.
I am using Firefox but have also tried Opera with the same results.
-- + Computer has been showing a successful connection in the Network and Sharing Center even when websites fail to load and the connection has gone down for others.
+ When trying to use a wired connection for the first time, the computer could not connected. IT jumped back and forth between "Identifying..." and no connection at all.
+ I reset the router with both wired and wireless connections. With the wireless, it would become functional for a few minutes after being reset and then fail again. With the wired, the router would not broadcast at all. I ended up having to unplug it for a minute and then plug it back in to get it to broadcast again.
+ I tried using my cable with just the modem, but the Data and PC lights failed to light up upon doing this.
+ After all of this, I removed the wired connection and re-enabled my wireless on the laptop. Connection was restored for a few minutes.
+ Despite a successful ping after two minutes, most websites wouldn't load.
+ Switched to a different laptop after turning mine off and was able to maintain a normal internet connection for over an hour. After starting up the computer for the first time:
C:UsersManda>ping yahoo.com
Pinging yahoo.com [67.195.160.76] with 32 bytes of data: Request timed out. Request timed out. Request timed out. Request timed out.[code].....
Interestingly enough, despite the successful pings I was still unable to get most websites to load on my browser.
url...Yesterday all of a sudden my computer wouldn't load up a lot of websites. A lot of my favorite sites to visit now for whatever reason only load to a certain point than stop. The first picture is from Steam, the second is from a browser. It doesn't matter the browser, because it doesn't load on any I've tested.
I have 4 computers using the DIR-615. One of them works just fine (windows 7) the other ones (XP sp3) are very slow, one of which is on the wireless the others are plugged in.
Samsung N130 and all. But the strange thing is that I havent had any problem whatsoever connecting to any wireless internet before yesterday. I couldnt connect and wasnt sure if it was my laptop or if it was the server in the building or something... but when I came to visit my mom later in the day I brought my laptop to test and it woud connect to her wifi... I could go to Google.. I can search but I can't go to any other website. It is extremely frustrating. Especially because I need internet for my job and up until yesterday the N130 was more then doing the job.[CODE]
I'm using DIR 600 for home use. Recently, I noticed that I have trouble connecting to some websites (Twitpic.com, 4shared.com) which I never had any problems before I used the wireless router. It doesn't exactly block the websites but rather it won't load completely (i.e., with Twitpic, I can load the site but not the images; for 4shared I really can't load the page itself).Initially, I had problems updating JDownloader after installation. I tried using our old Edimax wired router, and the JDownloader update worked flawlessly. I also tried loading Twitpic while connected via LAN, and it also worked properly.I'm assuming the problem lies with the wireless router but when I set it up for use I only tinkered with the WPA/WPA2 security for a password-secured wifi connection at home, and nothing more since I can't understand the other features.
For some time now, I haven't been able to connect to websites from one.com, from my personal network.I've had full access to all those sites before and the only change I've made myself, is changing the standard internet browser from IE to Firefox. At first I thought the problem was on my desktop Win7 computer (which uses a network cable), but after testing the sites on my macbook, with a wireless connection, and having the same issue.
I recently upgraded my modem and before then my internet connection was working. I was able to connect to websites and all. But once i upgraded it wouldn't allow me to connect. my other computers are able to but not my main one. My ISP told me to bring it in to the shop cause they said something was blocking my connection. I ran some basic things i saw on the internet. i am able to get to web pages through ip address but not through the [URL] type ones.
I have an SMC2804WBR router. It runs slowly and refuses to even load some web sites. If I unplug it for half an hour, it works fine for three or four minutes and then slows right down again. SMC support told me to reset and reconfigure the settings. I tried it twice. It made no difference at all. It works fine for a few minutes after it has been unplugged but then slows right down. I have the cable connection plugged into a PC running Windows 2000 and that is where I have the router plugged in as well. This is not the machine I use on a daily basis. I use a MacBook Pro via wireless. If I purchase a new router that says the operating system can be OS X or at least XP, can I configure it from the MacBook and will it still work with the PC running on Windows 2000? I was thinking of scrapping the SMC and getting a Linksys E1200-CA.
Short version: when running devices through my e2000 into my CM100 modem, internet access is unstable, packets are lost, and certain websites simply will not load. I am using my apartment complex's **bleep** internet (and I have no choice in the matter) which registered the MAC address of the CM 100. When I run through the CM100 directly, everything works fine. What can I do to fix this?
Long version: I have an e2000 router connected to my PC, Xbox, and wireless devices. The router is then connected to a CM100 cable modem. The modem is connected to my apartment complex's internet access. They required the MAC address of the cable modem. The routed showed an apartment complex domain when I went hunting around, but there is no login to it, and I was never told anything else about the connection.
When I run the router through the modem, the internet access is lousy. Certain websites will never load, the connection drops, and packets are lost. When I run directly through the modem, the connection works perfectly.
I note that the CM100 assigns IP addresses if it cannot get any from the ISP, and there appears to be no way to turn it off. I have tried disabling DHCP on the router, but it did not work. I have changed the router's IP address, but that did not work. I have even tried turnign the router into a simple wireless access point, but that did not work. The modem is at 192.168.100.1, while the router is on 192.168.1.1. Should I change my router's location to 192.168.100.x?
[code] after installing the wirless driver, I can see my network but it can't obtain an IP. So I issue it a static IP, and it says I am connected and have internet access. But when i open up IE, doesn't work. Tried Resetting IE, and that didn't work. [code]
I have been accessing my webmail account everyday for the past 3yrs with not problem until this week. Stopped working mid week. No changes to computers. Have 3 and none will access this site any longer. Just times out. Sometimes I can ping and other times not. Can log onto other networks and access with out any problems. My ISP says it is not their problem. (Site is [URL]).
I'm having what's probably one of the strangest computer problems I've ever dealt with. The computer I have set up as my media server (Running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit) is randomly losing network/internet communication. Now, I say communication and not connectivity, because I can still ping it from other computers on my network and I can still ping websites from it (via IP address or name so it doesn't appear to be a DNS problem). But I can't pull up any actual webpages when this problem is going on and none of my media services will connect to the PC. I can't even pull up my routers admin page from the PC while this problem is going on (but I CAN ping the router).
Its been a long road but this is where Im at right now. I have a complete fresh install of XP SP3 on a dell inspiron 9300. I was having this issue and with all the troubleshooting steps taken that did not work, I decided to re-install windowsTurns out the internal NIC does not work (at all it seems), so I have a USB NIC. Itinstalled correctly and detects the network. I can log into our Domain, ping seveal websites (yahoo, assassinarcade.com (my personal website), blogger.com) but IE8/FF will not load the web pages. The NIC has a valid IP address with correct DNS and DHCP IP addresses to their respective servers[CODE]
I have a new 3560G to set up a small network for a remote site. I configured the vlan and an SVI as the gateway. The switch is also the DHCP server for the LAN. I configured Gi0/2 as L3 port, connecting to the nearest neighbor. My network runs EIGRP so i advertised the routes into the EIGRP process. The switch forms EIGRP neighbors and learns all routes in the enterprise network. The problems I'm having now are: 1. The switch learns all routes in my enterprise LAN and can ping devices in the enterprise LAN, but I can’t ping any interface on the switch from the enterprise LAN. 2.
I set this up and I can ping all the gateways but never the hosts. I was hoping I could make these links between 6500's a mix of L2 and L3. Check it out. They are connected in a linear fashion R1--->R2--->R3. I can ping from R1 to R3's SVI4 gateway but I can never ping a host on that SVI4. I was hoping that I could use the port-channels between 6500's as routed links or as trunk links depending on the type of traffic....thought it would ease the migration. I suppose I could always get rid of the port-channels and just make separate L2 and L3 links between the 6500's.
From My Router that connects to Cable modem i am unable to ping website 4.2.2.2I am able to ping all other websites fines.Same website i can ping from my pc and all other switches fine.Router has only 1 ACL thats for NAT.
I installed window server 2003 in a old Pentium III server as a standalone test server. Now I want to use it as a print server and connected it to the domain. I can ping workstations and other servers from that test svr. But i cannot ping that test server from the work stations.
I had both a Westell 7500 and a Linksys Router working fine and had my 360 setup as an extender for Windows Media Center so I could stream TV, Music, Movies, etc from my desktop to the 360. Then I switched my modem/router out with a Zyxel PH5001Z
So now today I noticed that I can no longer find my desktop through the XBox. I have adjusted my firewall settings on the modem itself, even completely disabling it. UPnP is enabled for the 360 and the device is showing under my device table. At first I wasn't able to ping any network devices but after creating an ICMPv4 Firewall rule it worked fine. I've confirmed the XBox IP Address through Network Map, the Device Table on the modem and through Network Settings on the XBox. I've diabled my modem firewall as well as Windows Firewall, completely and I still can't ping my XBox or set it up as an Extender.
I have the XBox connected wirelessly using WPA2-Personal and it's operating in 802.11g/n mode.
Since thunder caused a brief shortage a week ago, I have been getting this error a lot:So when and how does this happen? Some of the time, all sites work perfectly. The rest of the time, about half the sites I try to visit yield this error. I might be browsing Website X for a while, and spontaneously, I start getting this blank screen error message for every page on that site. Unreachable sites usually start working within ~10 minutes though. Some sites always work (e.g. Reddit and Google, but not always the images in Google Images). If I try this on my laptop, using the same network cable, everything works perfectly. My computer is the only one in the house that has this error, for some reason.I have tried "ipconfig /flushdns", "ipconfig /renew", Google's DNS and OpenDNS, the "repair connection" thingie in Windows XP, restarting the server (well, my dad has), opening sites in Internet Explorer (I usually use Firefox) and unplugging/replugging my router.I haven't had any success although I have twice been tricked into believing that I've solved the problem, since all sites have randomly decided to work for a few minutes (non-reproducable of course).
Well actually now i have another problem. I easily works to like search on google. for example wikipedia works too. But from the moment i want to go to facebook or something similar, it doesn't work?
I have several websites i cant connect to but i will use consumerist as a example.I can not connect to it even though url... Is Up -> Check if your website is up or down?Says it's up. Therefore something is wrong. It is a new HP DV6 running MS sec essentials and MBAM (unactivated). I just set up openDNS to see if it would change and still nothing. I have tried multiple networks and they don't work either.
