I have a 2 mbps connection and i mainly use it for gaming such as World Of Warcraft, Call Of Duty: Black Ops, Battlefield BC2 and my pingms is normally around 70-150 but yesterday during a game and all of a sudden it said "Connection Interrupted" then the game resumed with 350 ping and since then my ping in all games increased to at least 400. I called my ISP but they said as long as the download speed and browsing speed is normal they cannot identify the problem, i have been having it for 2 days now wasting my warcraft subscription : however not sure if this willere is a tracert from the server i play on[CODE]
View 12 Replies View RelatedFor some reason I cannot ping or FTP on a specific computer on my home network. All other computers work fine and the specific computer works fine on other networks. But the combination of this computer and my home network it doesn't like.
I have disabled both windows firewall and my virus software but nothing seems to work. It seems to be a timeout issue as FTP and ping sometimes does work but FTP is increadibly slow when it works and the ping time is very high 670ms and above. I am running windows 7 and my router is a netgear n150
I am able to ping and tracert websites by name but not load them in firefox or IE. I was able to update minecraft and connect to multiplayer servers to play with others. I have checked the hosts file and am able to telnet [URL] 80 and get a reply in html. I am connected to my modem through a wireless network using a dynamic IP and have uninstalled all antivirus software. The issue started just after installing SpyHunter and running a scan with it.

The computer I have set up as my media server (Running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit) is randomly losing network/internet communication. Now, I say communication and not connectivity, because I can still ping it from other computers on my network and I can still ping websites from it (via IP address or name so it doesn't appear to be a DNS problem). But I can't pull up any actual webpages when this problem is going on and none of my media services will connect to the PC. I can't even pull up my routers admin page from the PC while this problem is going on (but I CAN ping the router).

My network is on a 101.140.228.x ip scheme because that's what the wireless network is set too and we can't change that. (It's built into the hub and the manufacturer doesn't let us change it. The computer I am having trouble with is cabled into a Netgear Access Point in client mode. The Access Point is working basically like an oversized network card to pick up the wireless network across the field with the 101.140.x.x ip.

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy computer is a inspiron 17r and is only a month old. for the last week or 2, it has been disconnecting from the internet while at home. The computer says it has an internet connection and is discoverable on the LAN, but will not connect to the internet for browsing, email or any other internet activity. I can restore the internet by rebooting the computer, or by rebooting the router and modem, or by deleting the network and re-establishing it through the network sharing center. Any of these will work, but somewhere between 1 minute and several hours, I will again lose the internet. I have several other computers and devices and none of them lose the internet so I know the router and the modem are fine. This also ONLY happens at home. I take the computer to work and connect with no problems and stay connected for 9 or 10 hours.
I have looked for answers and have tried ip release and winsock resets. these also work for a period of time but eventually fail as well.
Every time I connect my router, I can't use the internet browsers. But I can see there's a internet connection. Bu once in a while even with just a modem connected to my computer I can't use the browsers. The signal from the router to my Xbox 360 works but sometimes it says there's DNS Error or IP Address Error causing my Nat to be strict. Once in a while, I can access my router's page when it's connected. [code]
View 19 Replies View RelatedYesterday I picked up a laptop of a friend of mine which had some problems with the Internet connectivity. Turns out, Internet only works when booted in Safe Mode, however, it does ping in Normal Mode so there is connectivity. Tried IE and Firefox, both do not work in Normal Mode and do work in Safe Mode. MSN Messenger won't work in Normal Mode either. After carefully checking the Windows event logs, it looks like some services are not booted in normal mode.I have executed the following steps and measures in order for me to see if I would be able to fix the problem myself.
1) Boot in Normal Mode:
- Checked the settings of the adapter, no exclamation marks or other problems.
- Installed Revo Uninstaller Pro > Uninstalled all present antivirus program
- Installed Microsoft Security Essentials
- Ran a Full scan with Microsoft Securty Essentials; 1 virus > removed (just a virus which gives pop-ups)
- Installed CC Cleaner, cleaned the whole system
- Shut off all antivirus programs, IE and Firefox still not working.
2) Looked for extra information:cmd > Ipconfig/all Normal Mode [code]
So,I'm living in a university campus and I've got an internet connection via a proxy server.The thing is,when ever I plug in the network cable,my PC recognizes the network,but the little network tray says "No internet access". But the curious thing is that the internet actualy works.My browser works,I can access any website (well,except the restricted ones via proxy) but it works just like any other internet connection in the campus. But,recently I've got my hands on a VPN account to have access to things that my proxy wouldn't allow me (torrents for example).But,probably because of that "No internet access" problem,when ever I try to make that VPN account,it tells me that I need to connect to the internet first. I already am,but my PC still keeps requiring an internet connection.I can't manualy connect to it,since I don't have the ISP data required. I've only got my VPN account data (VPN username and password).
This is kind of annoying,since this only happens to me,my other room mates don't have this problem,they plug in their cables,their network adapters recognize both the network and the internet access. Only mine says "No internet access" but the internet works fine.My operating system is genuine,when ever I go home and connect to my home network this problem doesn't ocure anymore,this only happens when I connect to my university's internet connection.I've tried reinstalling my operating system.Still no results.I'll attach a printscreen so you could see exactly what I mean.
my internet is being slow. It 'uplink' speed is 7mbps. when downloading or just surfing the internet 'task manager' says that the computer is using below 5% of the internet's speed capasity. it never gets higher than this, is there any way to change this so that i can us the full potential of the internets speed.

- I can only access to Facebook, Spotify, but nothing else.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been having a really annoying issue with my computer not connecting to the internet wirelessly I start the computer, and a connection is there via my router for about 30secs-2mins. After this, I can't access any websites. The full five bars remain white and the router is still seen by the computer, but there is a small yellow exclamation sign in front of it, and a mouse-over says "no internet access". I can still access when wired to the router through a cable, so I thought it might be an issue with my wireless card, but wireless USB adapters don't make a difference, even when I've disabled the wireless card. My drivers are all up to date, and I've even tried a full reformat and reinstall of Windows 7, to no avail. Other devices (a couple of computers and phones) can connect to the router fine, and the network even tried a new router, with no success. I have experienced this immediately after the reinstall, before either firewall (I use ZoneAlarm Free) or AV (I use Avast! Free) were installed, and I'm completely stuck.

My ISP told me to bring it in to the shop cause they said something was blocking my connection. If I unplug it for half an hour, it works fine for three or four minutes and then slows right down again. SMC support told me to reset and reconfigure the settings. I tried it twice. It made no difference at all. It works fine for a few minutes after it has been unplugged but then slows right down. I have the cable connection plugged into a PC running Windows 2000 and that is where I have the router plugged in as well. This is not the machine I use on a daily basis. I use a MacBook Pro via wireless. If I purchase a new router that says the operating system can be OS X or at least XP, can I configure it from the MacBook and will it still work with the PC running on Windows 2000? I was thinking of scrapping the SMC and getting a Linksys E1200-CA.

I've recently installed a Cisco RV120W Wireless-N VPN Firewall. It's configured in DHCP Server Mode with printers/copiers that have static IPs below the DHCP range.
I'm having a problem with certain stations being used for personal networking, shopping, etc. during business hours. Consequently I would like to limit internet access on these stations. However, some internet access is required because of online database software that's an integral part of our business. I've been reading in the Administration Guide about URL Blocking. Would it be possible to give static IPs to certain stations and then limit their internet access to 1 or 2 specific websites?
FYI, I've read about the Trusted Domains and Blocked Keywords but cannot quite understand how to parley this into the solution I need.
How does one configure the router so that Internet users can access internal company websites? The only thing that appears is the Cisco router login. Also I need to configure Terminal Services and its not on the list under Service.
