I was using my dlink dir 524 but when i change my isp i cannot connect my desktop via ethernet while the internet works good on my laptop via wifi i had done all thing by turning off firewall but no luck i was using xp on my desktop and windows 7 on laptop.

Yesterday, the internet was working fine, but today, when I tried using the internet, it'll connect to the (router? group?), but it won't connect to the internet. I've tried the same plug with my roommate's Macbook, and it worked just fine, so I am assuming it is a problem with my computer (or my own incompetence). Normally, I would just try restarting my modem, but that isn't an option here.

Zotac nForce 790i motherboard
4x2 crucial 1333MHz RAM
My router has been working fine until yesterday when it randomly stopped functioning for me. I can only connect to it via wireless. Other computers in my house can connect directly to it though. I have tried cycling the modem and router. Reinstalled drivers. Nothing, it just constantly says "identifying" for less than a second then reappear in a constant cycle. [code]

I plugged into desktop's netgear router with ethernet and still wont connect to internet. When I go start/run/regedit in local services there is no wireless listing on bottom to enable. View 9 Replies View RelatedIve been using an Ethernet cable to connect to the Internet for a while now, it was working fine up to yesterday where I left my desktop open for a few hours and came back to find that I have no Internet connection.
I used my laptop to test the cable out and it works fine, the wireless works fine too. There doesnt seem to be anything wrong with the modem since I still have Internet on the PS3. I used a different cable to test the modem again with my laptop and I had internet access. The desktop is still connected to the modem but it only gives me a network connection with no Internet.
I tried restarting the modem but it still wouldnt work and I also tried to disable then enable the connection.
Im using Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller with the latest driver.
i always use to use my ethernet cable to hook up to the internet. now when i plug it in, theres no connection and it doesnt even notice that the cable is plugged in.

i can't connect to the wireless internet but can connect to internet through the ethernet cable. i am connected to network on wireless but no webpages work. other devices like iphone, and other laptos can connect to internet on wireless. i have tried turning the router on n off to restart it, and even resetting it back to factury settings but still doesn't connect wirelessly to my laptop.

Since the beginning, I wasn't able to connect to it through cable. When I connect my laptop with the cable, it says that it's connected, and that it has an internet connection. However, I can't get on it... My browsers don't have internet, and other programs can't connect either. (that while it says that it's connected to internet, quite strange)... I was thinking of some security adjustment that might block the internet connection or something, I don't know.
Oh, something that I should mention... I was able to get internet through Ethernet cable when there was a firewall... But when there's no security to the network... It isn't possible to have internet and it gives the situation described above. (any other laptop can connect with the network, so there must be some adjustment issue...)
