I have a device Cat 3560. I have defined the SNMP Community Strings as shown in the config. But I Add the device in "CA Spectrum" it fails.The device responds on ICMP protocol but fails on SNMP protocol. The device is directly accessable through directly connected switch. [code]

There is Reach ability between NMS server and switch but snmp string is not validating.
I have two 3560G 24p switches, connected to each other via two links in Etherchannel. From one of the switches i retrieve SNMP info about port status and traffic for these two ports. That works great, until i pull out random cable. The switch responds with ifOperStatus = 2 and traffic drops to zero for that partikular port, as it should. But a some of seconds later it stops responding to my snmp reguests for ~ 5 seconds. That causes problems as my watchdog sets an alarm as it thinks the connection to the switch has been lost. (It checks switch uptime is increasing all the time)
If I set a delay on the watchdog on my monitoring system of 15sec, it works. But it ain't that nice to have a delay of 15 sec if the connection really is lost.

I would like to test the possibility to reload devices via SNMP for new switches like 2960, 3560 and so on.I know that the command "snmp-server system-shutdown" has to be configured, then I need to send the set query to the device via SNMP.
I have found on the net the OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.9.9.0 but it belongs to an old MIB and doesn't seem to work with new switch models.
When attempting to configure access controls from the advanced menu I enable the access control checkbox. I then follow the configuration wizard completing each step as directed by the wizard. When I complete the wizard and try to save the rule I get the following error message regardless of how I complete the wizard. "Name can not be empty string". Yes, cannot is misspelled in the message. I have tried every combination of choices in the wizard and many combinations of naming the rule to no avail.
This did work properly on a previous firmware version, probably 1.04 or 1.05. I have not tried back loading to the previous versions to see where it did or did not work. I don't know how well the router goes back and don't really care to reload all the settings again by hand if the automatic recovery doesn't work.I want to use this feature to control what hours certain machines on the network have access to the internet.
How to to successfully configure and connect to a DynDNS account with RVS4000? This was working fine for me until recently when I think I upgraded the firmware to 1.3.3.5.I am trying to connecting to DynDNS.org service. In the past, I used the following string for the Hostname which worked: 'mysubdomain.domain.com&system=custom' (including small quotes). According to the RVS4000 documentation, all you should have to do is specify the host name with DynDNS but this clearly is not accurate.

So, i was wondering if i can use the http parameter "spoof server string" to replace the original URL sent by the user for another URL that points to an internal web server holding a basic page saying "Your URL request has been blocked".
The point is to have a way to tell users that the page they are trying to browse is blocked by a policy.

I'm trying to set up a VPN connection with my Windows 7 machine at home any my Windows XP laptop. The Windows 7 is the server, and my XP is the client. The machine at home is behind a DIR-600 router. I've setup the normal VPN connections at both the machines, and have also forwarded port 1793 on the Windows 7 (following the usual steps: static ip etc). I also exempted the said port from the windows firewall.

At the start everything was OK but after few days internet connection started struggling. Troubleshoot says that DNS server is not responding.There are a couple others laptops on the same network and it seems that just me have this problem.The problem - Skype, torrents are working OK. The problem is with connection to internet sites via my internet browser. It doesn't matter it's IE, Mozilla or Google Chrome, I have the problem with all of them. After upgrading our Cisco MSE to 7.4, the appliance does not stay connected to the network. Once the appliance is restarted, layer 3 echoes occur for about 2 minutes and then stop. The only way to get it to respond again, is to restart the appliance. Again, after a few minutes, it stops responding. I've checked the switch, and there is no port security set up on it. I've checked ACL's, and other potential culprits to no avail. The MSE interface is set up, and the device is configured.

SYS PWR - It is showing solid green which means the router is receiving power, and the internal power supply is functional. It is not blinking green as is normally the case when the router is rebooted.
SYS ACT - It is showing solid green. It should normally be blinking green showing that the system is actively transferring packets and monitoring internal activity. CF - It is showing solid green. It should normally be off indicating that the CompactFlash memory card is not being accessed or be blinking green showing that the CompactFlash memory card is being accessed.
I have even replaced the CompactFlash memory with another one and removed the two WICs installed but the router still fails to initialise properly and respond through the console terminal program. how the router can be further troubleshooted or if it can be repaired?

On 1/2/2012 in mid-morning I began experiencing lack of connectivity. I noticed that the "link" light on my DSL modem was blinking. I tried turning everything off & starting up again but to no avail. I'm trying to connect to a Medialink wifi router from this laptop but after finding and connecting to it, it shows as No Internet Access. When I try to access a web page, it says DNS Not Responding. I have been able to access it before from this laptop. I am currently able to access this particular wifi spot from other devices. I am unsure if this laptop is able to access other wifi spots besides my own.
Things began to act weird after I tried changing the network name from the Network and Sharing Center by clicking on the 'House' icon, changing the network name to something besides the given router name, and pressing ok.
Since then, I have reset the router. I have checked to make sure DNS is automatically retrieved. When that didn't work, I gave it a public DNS to pull from, but that didn't work so I reverted to Auto DNS. I have enabled netbios over TCP/IP. I have flushed all caches. Nothing.
I don't have McAfee installed, only MSE.

I am having an issue with my netgear router dg834g
last night my router just stopped working when i was on the internet. I looked at my router and the power light and tick were flashing. After disconnectibg the power a few times this continued so i called it a night and left it disconnected.
Tonight i turned it back on and all looks fine on the router but on the pc it will now not connect and says the dns server isnt responding.
Maybe its a problem with my internet provider (orange) so not sure but its frustrating lol. Dont know a lot of the techical stuff i was using it fine for over a year withoit any problems.
For a while now every time I started up my computer I wouldn't be able to connect to the internet. When I used the Windows Network Diagnostic tool, it said "the DNS server isn't responding". Last weekend I seemed to have solved this with DNS jumper after trying everything (flushing etc.). I tested a torrent and got speeds up to 2.1mb/s which I have never gotten before. Even the other members of my household noticed faster internet speed. This worked up until late Sunday when my internet decided to crash. The problem with starting the computer is gone, but everytime I I tested another torrent and get speed of 2kB/s and while I am downloading, I can't surf the web on that computer. I tried port-forwarding for uTorrent which seemed to work a bit. Download speeds jumped to 20kB/s for about a minute then fell back down to 2kB/s. I saw some forums saying it was there anti virus so I disabled the P2P shield on avast! and that did work as well, so I uninstalled it and got a new anti virus and the speeds were still around 20kB/s then plummeted again
