Cisco Firewall :: Configure MAC Address Based Routing In ASA 5540?

I have a network setup where two servers from inside need to communicate with a remote network via 2 VPN gateways. The destinations are same. However, the chalange is each server need to follow it's own VPN gateway. Since i can't configure PBR (policy based routing) in ASA, can i configure something like MAC Address based routing. I can't use destination based routing since the remote network are reachable from the both VPN Gateways.

In our datacenter we have a 3750 stack with IP base image. I have enabled PBR and reloaded the switch. Show sdm prefer says i am using default template. The reason i want to use PBR is that we have 2 firewalls on the same work and want to be able to have granular control over which gateway out of the network they use but still be able to access all internal resouces accross wan and locally.
Created access list to identify traffic:

Results:It changed the default gateway to the above gateway but i could not access any resources on any other vlan, could not access resouces accross wan.Â

I just bought a Catalyst 2960S to test out the feature "Port-Based Address Allocation" which is required for our factory. I followed the instruction from Cisco IOS and did all the steps but I could not get it to work, my network client did not received the expected IP address that I configured.

We have an ASA-5540 (8.4(1)) The inside interface faces a few multicast receivers. The outside interface faces the multicast source.All of the ASA multicast documents I've download describe very simple network designs, such as a single segment on the ASA inside.Our PC hosts that will be multicast receivers are a couple router hops away from the ASA inside interface. I'm not sure what the best way is to configure multicast on the ASA.Should I configure the ASA with PIM routing and a static RP address (plus the ACL to allow the multicast source traffic in) since the receiver hosts are a couple hops away? I think I understand the IGMP joins are for a local PIM router, so configuring as a Stub Multicast router wouldn't work? The two Cisco routers between the host and the inside ASA interface already have PIM, a static RP address, and IP PIM Spare-Mode configured.

I have a test ASA 5505 at home. The DHCP IP address in my real home firewall is 192.168.1.x and as you are aware the default ip address in ASA is the same. how to configure the ASA.
In the link below there is an instruction, it seems it is working for everybody except me. I followed the instruction up and the only change was assigning the IP address, which I chose something other than 192.168.1.x But after the step of creating NAT, I do not have access to the internet. [URL] Also I followed the link below, but the revision of the ASDM in the instruction does not match with mine, so I was not lucky to figure the device.[URL]
1- How can I configure the ASA 5505 with an IP address different than 192.168.1.x (at home = no incoming static IP address = DHCP on subnet 192.168.1.x for the incoming internet) I have installed ASDM 6.3 on my laptop (From work) but when I connect to the ASA it wants to install ASDM 5.7.I tried to connect to the device through ASDM 6.3 and input the IP address 192.168.1.1It takes for ever and it does not connect to the device
2- How can I connect to the device by ASDM 6.3 or any ASDM with higher version than the original of the device?

I am a little new to Cisco ASA's but we bought two new 5540's to use as a new VPN solution for our company. We want to implement Cisco Anyconnect full client and Clientless based solutions for our end users. I am having problems working with setting up access lists based on groups. I simply want to create access-lists to certain IP's based on groups. I ultimately want to get to the point where we have Dynamic Access Policies that are based on Active Directory Groups allowing access to back end servers based solely on their group membership in AD. But first I need to figure out how to just apply an ACL on a group. Â

Is it possible to establish PBR rules that set the ip next-hop to point directly to the inside interface of the ASA5550?Or, do I need to direct this PBR traffic first to a directly connected router interface and then default route to the ASA?At a high level, here's what we have:

I'm having an issue accessing a clients router on the WAN interface with Cisco config pro. I can get CLI access with SSH without any issue. Â I have port 22 and 443 allowed as management access from my public IP - SSH working fine but config pro being refused connection, Possibly a certificate issue?

This is probably a dumb question, but I have read the 2960 stack administration guide and it does not explain how to configure the stack IP address. It says several times that the stack can be managed from the stack IP address, and that the stack IP address is a system-level configuration item. But it never explains how to configure the stack IP address.

We have upgraded our gateway router from a Cisco Linksys RVL200 to a Cisco 861, this is a big jump from a GUI driven system to IOS CLi and i'm having issue finding my feet. I tried the Cisco CP system but it didn't work so I'm going to configure it with IOS commands. I wish to replicate the current configuration on the 200 with the following setup.

I have created a DHCP pool but i am unable to configure the FastEthernet ports to hand out address automatically, the pool is called USERS with range 192.168.1.30 -> 192.168.1.253.How do I work out the client-identifier for a DHCP client, I don't want to plug this into the network and manual reconnect all the PC's just to get the ID then make a static route.

configuring policy based route for my cisco router?Basically, I have a 2811 cisco router with 2 ADSL ports. 1 port is for iiNet line and another port is for Telstra line.I want to configure a policy based route on the router so that:Any traffic coming from 1 internal IP (i.e. 172.16.x.1) will go through iinet line (i.e. Dialer 0) interface.Any traffic from rest of the office will go through the Telstra line (i.e. Dialer 1) interface. Is there any easy way to configure this policy based route?

When ever I create a network object in ASDM 6.0(3) the UI also wants to send the command 'asdm location (network object IP address)' to the device.What is the purpose of 'asdm locaction ....'? Is it telling the ASA-5540 that the IP address is allowed to connect to the device using ASDM?If that is the case why does 'asdm location xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx'get denerated for every network object I create?

How to configure dynamic VLANs (IP subnet-based) using Nortel JDM? My company is now using port based VLAN and it wastes a lot of time reconfiguring the port to its VLAN everytime their devices moved from one place to another place. So I think using IP subnet-based VLAN might solve the problem?

I am encountering some problems setting up my new polycom hdx 8000 behind ASA 5540?I have opened reuired ports through the firewall ( incoming and outgoing). I have enabled inspection h323 on ASA and enabled the option NAT is 323 compatible on Polycom.

Our ISP has set up a Cisco 2431-16fxs IAD (dual WAN) in one of our locations. It is used to connect the devices (PCs and SIP phones) on our LAN to internet (via 1st WAN port) and ISP's MPLS-based voip network (via 2nd WAN port).

We have 2 LAN subnets - the first subnet (PCs) requires internet access only, so it goes out via the 1st WAN port. The 2nd subnet (SIP phones) is connected the MPLS network (via 2nd WAN port).

We would like to have the SIP phones (that connects to MPLS-based network 192.168.1.x) to be able to access the internet. Is it possible to configure the IAD so that the phones are routed based on destination network; i.e. anything to 192.168.1.x via 2nd WAN port, anything else to the internet via the 1st WAN port?

A short background. Our corporate SSID is being migrated from using PEAPv0 to EAP-TLS. This restricts access only to company notebooks. Additionally we have barcode scanners which are used to inventory assets. Those devices are not able to use EAP-TLS as they cannot be integrated in the domain and being unable to do certificate based authentication.

As a workaround we planned to use another SSID with access to the same network but using PEAPv0 as authentication method, basically the same SSID but with a different name. As this naturally allows anyone to access the corporate network with a valid username/password I now wanted to add another step into the authentication process - the MAC of the device. I know I can do the filtering at the WLAN controller, but as it has a limited database as well as the fact that it is cumbersome to maintain the MAC list on all the controllers I thought I can do it over our ACS system.

I am now trying to accomplish the following: The user gets authenticated via the internal user store, which is succesful. Now I want to authorize the user via the MAC address, which is stored in the internal host store of the ACS, if access is granted or not.

For this I created the following policy:

using ACS 4.2 and I can't find a way to bind an incoming NAS port to a specifc IP Pool:

When a user connects the request to auth comes from 2 possible NAS ports randomly (this cannot change). Depending on which NAS makes the requests determines the IP range required, so I need 2 IP Pools. There is no way to say 'if request comes from NAS1 give IP from Pool1 and if request comes from NAS2 give IP from Pool2'

I have gone around and around with NAFs and NARs, but cannot do this.I can create 2 ACS groups with the specific NAS and specific IP pool within, but then I cannot have a single username bound to both groups.

I moved the auth to an AD group in the hope that I could bind that single AD group to the 2 ACS groups; and so have a single username, but no joy.

I have try with some older switches but it doesn't works properly on everyone. I have upgraded them whitout better results, there is namely an issue with TLS handshaking on some switches which produces authentication to fail.

I am a novice with networks but do have a fair understanding of networks. I have a small business network, utilizing a RVS4000 router (Firmware V2.0.27)I am attempting to set up firewall rules to block certain web sites at certain times.I have successfully set up rules using source and destination ranges, to deny service 24 hours a day everyday.

However and here is the problem when I attempt to edit any of the rules (I want to change the time to certain hours of the day) it allows me to edit the rule but when I attempt to save I get an error message up saying there are invalid characters and it will not save the changes?create the whole thing with the changes I want it works fine, is this a known bug?

I have two 1811's connected in a lab using a ipsec vpn tunnel (using a switch to simulate an internet connection between them).I am trying to configure one of the routers as a ZBPF just to allow a remote windows login (DC on the firewalled side, workstations on the other side).I'm trying to verify that the zbpf is working, but it doesn't seem to stop anything. I had match icmp added to the class-map, but took it out to test if icmp would fail. It didn't. Basically, I don't think the firewall is working at all. Any thoughts on how I can configure this so that the policies will work between zone-pairs?

i need to upgrade ASA 5540 from 7.1 to 8.4 for secure connect feature of Cisco Jabber Configuration. Support forum guides that, i need to follow upgrade path from 7.1 --> 7.2Â --> 8.0 --> 8.2 -->8.4 and also do a memory upgrade from 1GB to 2GB.
