Cisco VPN :: Make IPSEC Tunnel Between 857 And Sonicwall NSA240?

May 24, 2011

I am trying to make an IPSEC tunnell between a 857 and a  Sonicwall NSA240.The tunnell goes up but the traffic from the 857 seems to be pushed outside the router to the public internet, not into the tunnel.

Following configuration:

crypto isakmp policy 1 encr 3des hash md5 authentication pre-share group 2 lifetime 28800crypto isakmp key xxxxx address 111.111.111.111 no-xauth!crypto ipsec security-association lifetime seconds 28800!crypto ipsec transform-set xxxx esp-3des esp-md5-hmac!crypto map xxxx 1 ipsec-isakmp description VPN to xxxx set peer 1111.111.1111.111 set security-association lifetime seconds 3600 set transform-set xxxx set pfs group2 match address 115

ip forward-protocol ndip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 Dialer0!
access-list 115 permit ip 172.28.3.0 0.0.0.255 192.168.22.0 0.0.0.255

If I try a traceroute the traffic is not pushed into the tunel but it seems the it tries to route the traffice over the internet using Dialer0.

Cisco Firewall :: 5515x Apply On Firewall / Switches To Make Implementation Successful

Apr 22, 2013

I will be implementing a new firewall (cisco asa 5515x) on my existing  3750x (server switches) and my 2960s (user switches). What should I need to apply on my firewall and swtiches to make the  implementation successfull.  I will put my 3750x as my DMZ and my 2960s  as my inside.  The 3750x have multiple subnet and also the 2960s.which  features and technologies i need to know on those 3 products.  my 3750x  and 2960s don't have any ACL defined and most common features are vlan,  switchport, trunking, spanning-tree, stacking, vtp.how  my asa knows that my 3750x/2960s have multiple vlans.  my current  connection right now on 3750x and 2960s is just through 6 ports i  assigned as one trunk, below is my config [code]

my  2960s vlans are almost the same with my 3750x except vlan 160, 170,  192.  but of course when i put this in asa, i have to segragate vlan for  3750x (192, 100, 110,160, 170) and 2960s (130, 150).  for my 2960s  connection to the asa and since this will have big bandwidth, i will use  3 ports on my asa (and trunk it) connecting to my 2960s and i will use 2  ports on my asa (and trunk it) connecting to my 3750x.  the one  internet ports and my one management ports on my asa will stay like  that.

Cisco Firewall :: 515 How Many Concurrent SIP Channels Able To Make Through Firewall

Apr 13, 2011

How many concurrent SIP channels should I expect to be able to make through a PIX firewall? We currently have a PIX 515 with the SIP fixup enabled.it worked fine for a low volume of traffic, but once we got to around 400-500 concurrent SIP calls the PIX started to struggle. Calls were dropping and other Internet traffic was intermittent. When I decreased the call volume it recovered and everything returned to normal.Bandwidth wise, we were only using about 20MB, so I think that as it needs to inspect and remember SIP packets for the purposes of opening RTP ports, we probably hit a bottleneck in terms of either the PIX's CPU or memory capacity. I've not seen any specs detailing how many SIP fixups a PIX (of any capacity) is able to handle.I'm thinking of upgrading to a PIX 525 or PIX 535, but I'd like to know how many SIP calls they will be able to handle before committing.

Cisco Firewall :: 5505 Anyconnect With IPSEC

Sep 27, 2012

A customer has a 5505. According to the datasheet the limit of IPSEC sessions is 25 and the limit of anyconnect sessions is 25. Does that mean I can have 25 IPSEC tunnels and 25 Anyconnect tunnels at the same time? The customer needs at least 50 concurrent tunnels on his ASA. Am I understanding it correctly?

I was thinking the customer could pay for the anyconnect essentials license and connect his anyconnect clients to the ASA. Is that a good option to get the 50 concurrent clients connected?

I read in a Solarwinds forum that it should not be possible. What ip address is choosen as source interface by ASA? Is there a way to force a source interface?

Cisco Firewall :: Is Multicast Supported On ASA 5510 For IPSec VPN Clients

Dec 6, 2011

Our customer is using multicast in their internal network for their IP video deployemnt. Internallt on the network everything is working great.

We have two folks in management who want to be able to view the live multicast video feeds of the cameras remotely. I have tried to accomplish this using the Cisco VPN client. Although VPN connectivity is good (we can ping the individual cameras) they are unable to view the live multicast feeds. I enabled multicast globally on the ASA and the inside interface and get the same results.

Is there a way for the ASA to support the remote IPSec VPN client to view the multicast strams?

I'm trying to achieve a site-to-site ipsec tunnel to a Cisco ASA 5520.  Most examples feature the ASA with a public interface that terminates the tuennel and a private network on another interface that the tunnel interacts with.  Where my scenario differs is that the interface that accepts the tunnel is part of a public /29 network where I want the remaining hosts on that subnet to be able to route thrugh to the other end of the tunnel.  My tunnel gets established, but any attempts to route via the IP assigned to that one interface result in the ASA rejecting traffic. If so, what configuration options should I consider?
