We are about to a large amount of access points from access ports to trunks. Is there a report function in NCS that will give me a list of the APs and their CDP neighbor? I am able to view the information under "monitor/devices/access points" but I can't export that information to a useable format.
When I get the list the next step will be to create a configuration task in LMS 4.2 to configure the switch ports.

If I use "Immediate" Run Type a report gets generated with exactly what we need. If I try to use anything else so LMS can generate an email we keep getting this error. I had a look on the forum and supposedly this should be fixed since 3.2.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWe are currently running WCS but have built a new Prime Infrastructure 1.3 system from scratch on a brand new server, we have sucessfully migrated the old WCS database on to the new Prime server and as a test I have pointed 1 anchor controller to it. Possible to point the WLC's to both WCS and Prime Infrastructure concurrently - I was thinking that it would be a quick fallback if we has any problems with Prime (I know there have been some!) We are not running MSE but we do have mobility groups, the WLC's are 5508 running 7.0.235.3 .

It appears to be working but before I got the cable modem I had it connected to a router and it was set-up with a static IP address. View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought an LG Bluray DVD player (BD390) which is unable to find the access point in my home network.My router is a WRT54G, ver. 2.2, running firmware: Ver.4.21.1. My home network uses high speed cable with two computers on the wireless network, all working with no problems.The router is on the second floor but the two computers and the new BD390 are on the first floor - about 35 feet away. I have the wirelss security set to none and use only the specific computer MAC addresses to allow connection to this network.
I found directions in the forum for a setup using the LG BD390 but with a different Linksys router. I changed the security to WPA (AES); the Beacon interval from 100 to 75; the Fragmentation Threshold from 2346 to 2304; and the RTS Threshold from 2347 to 2307. The DVD wireless connection still failed to find my network. There is a "Push button" connection feature on the BD390 setup which I tried, but the only "button" on the router I could find was in the basic wireless setting, a green icon for the wireless SSID setup. No connection was made there either.
The recommendation connection from the LG manual is for a network cable, but that would be over 50 feet and a real pain to connect, so I would prefer WiFi.
I had to reset my access point but the login screen fails to appear to lock the router. I don't have the setup wizard disk.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a AP WAP54G. I've managed to get into the configuration page and rename my router and set a WPA2-Personl password.
The issue I'm facing is that when me and my roomate try to connect to the router at the same time, it shows the laptop that connects second as one that has 'limited connectivity' and hence cannot use the internet. The 1st laptop however works fine!
The settings for the router have all been left to default.
I'm not sure, but does this problem have anything to do with the fact that the router in configured with a static IP. If so, then there is another issure which is that whenever I try to change it from static to automatic/dynamic IP, the page fails and the router doesn't even get connected to the configuraion page(192.168.1.245) after that. The only way to get that page again is the reset the router.
Also I'm not able to directly get into the config page when I connect my router to my laptop via lan. I need to change the LAN IP to 192.168.1.x where x is >1.
What I want to do is the opposite of most configurations. I live on a small island with only one DSL connection. The modem is wired connected to a WAP54G Access point. To extend this access point want to use a WRT54G.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using a WRT120N and have had no problems connecting most wireless devices, but a Nintendo DS and DSi owned by my family are unable to connect to the access point. My wireless security mode is disabled, network mode is set to mixed, SSID is the same as on the DS/DSi, Channel width is 20Mhz only, Standard channel is set to 6, but I tried using channel 1 and 11 without success, SSID broadcast is enabled.
I've tried every work-about I could find and always get the 51300 error code, and am at a loss as to what else I can try to get the devices to connect to the access point.
Is it possible to configure WRT120n as an access point?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm currently running CiscoWorks LMS 4.0.1 on Windows 2003 under VMware and just got upgrade licensing for Prime Infrastructure 1.2. I am assuming that I will need to upgrade the current server to Prime LMS 4.2 in order to ensure that data migration to Prime Infrastructure goes well. I am planning to follow Cisco's recommendation to run Prime LMS and Prime Infrastructure in parallel for a time and migrate individual functions.
My real question is about Syslog handling. All of the managed devices are currently sending Syslog data to LMS. As a last step in the migration, is it possible to change the IP address of the Prime Infrastructure server to replace the Prime LMS server so that the Prime Infrastructure server will just start getting all the Syslog data, or do I need to go change hundreds of managed devices to point to a new address?

I renamed my SSID to "CoolWifiName" so that it's not the router's generic name, but what if a neighbor in my building uses that same name and uses it as their SSID? Since I wouldn't know which is which, and I mistakenly try to type in my wifi password on their's, would they have access to my password and be able to capture it?

I have a Sony VAio laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit,a Macbook with 10.6.8, and a new Asus Transformer Prime with ICS.My work desktop is a Dell Optiplex 380 with Windows 7 Pro 32bit. I frequently work from home and have no issues remoting into to my work PC from by Sony laptop via VPN and RDP.However I have never been able to connect successfully to my work PC with my Macbook(using Remote Desktop Connection 2.1 for Mac OS) or Asus tablet(using WYSE Pocket Cloud RDP app for Android). I can however connect to the VPN itself on the Macbook and tablet without issue same as my Windows laptop. The other interesting part is I can connect via RDP when I am connected to a Mi-Fi 3g hotspot. So it is definitely something in the my Linksys E2000 blocking the connection for some reason. I have even set Port forwarding of 3389 with the ip's of both the Macbook and Asus tablet.I have also tried connecting via ethernet to the router with the same outcome. I cannot ping my work pc from either device as well.In addition the firewall on my work PC is completely disabled and all services related to Remote desktop access are enabled and running.

I believe that is a bad idea. For one I don't know him but if it was possible and I did that, would he be able to access my account? or start more trouble? The setup is such that we're sitting this thing behind a basic Comcast cable modem will all the pass through options set. The outside facing interface is set to DHCP and grabs an IP address from Comcast. Inside interface is statically set with the same being said for the CIPE interface. The inside interface works until we plug up the outside. When we plug up the outside interface, all network traffic to the box effectively shuts down and the /var/log/messages is flooded with "neighbor table overflow" messages. Sometimes, this takes a few seconds to appear, and when that happens I can track some traffic hitting the far side of the tunnel, I.E. it works for a few fleeting seconds.

When I "view wireless networks" I see their connection. When I go to "change the order of preferred networks" (hoping to delete it from there) it doesn't show up.
