Is there anyway to pull the usernames and passwords from a switch via SNMP or write a new username and password to switch via SNMP. I have switch that was apparently misconfigured and i am not feeling like driving all the way down there to console in.

So being like that I have to create everyone in the shop a username and password. Is there a way to prompt the user to change their password on their first login like you would with windows or such?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI did not know the username and password for my DI-524 so I wanted to do a reset...used a paper clip and held the reset button for ten seconds, unplugged it, powered it up, and as per online instructions tried to type in 192.168.0.1 to access the username and password field so that I could enter "admin" and blank password. Here's where my lack of knowledge comes in. I am working off a MacBook with no Ethernet connection, just wifi. Is what I am trying to do even possible? Or does the computer I configure the router with have to be hardwired to the Internet while I do it?

Now I simply logged out and when i tried logging in, it is asking for a username. Now the thing is that I had not programmed any username. I tried using just "." followed by my secret password, but it did not work.

I reset the modem and tried to log in with the default usr/pass ( usr= leave blank , pass= admin) and it is still not working . The signal strength is good, and I know for sure that I have the correct username and password.It accepts the password, tries to connect, and then....nothing. I don't get any sort of message explaining why. It just tries to connect to the wireless network, then can't.
