we're having an issue with the command "cts dot1x" when applied to an uplink interface. It basically kils the connection with this command is applied. Once you remove it, everything is back to normal, the platform is a cisco 3750x.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have a remote site that is using 3750X switches as layer 2 switches back to our home site. The uplink port is showing dropped packets but the utilization on the link is never about 10%. We have a 100Mb circuit to this site. Our speed tests and iperf tests are not showing any issues that we can see. However the port is still droping packets. It is not dropping at a high rate but they are dropping.

Is there a way to capture these dropped packets to see what they are? We do have VOIP phones at the site and are using Qos.
I am in the process of installing a 3750x (IOS 12.2 (53r) SE2 IP Base) Cisco Catalyst switch in a new network of just 2 PC's (2 hosts, OS windows7 64Bits). I have enabled SVI interfaces with the both hosts installed in 2 different network segments. We then start connectivity test. The response time for the PING command between both hosts remain below 1 millisecond, whereas the response time between the hosts and their correspondent SVI interface is variable, and at all time is higher than 1 millisecond, sometimes it reaches 17 milliseconds. (Note that the switch CPU usage is only 8% at the time of testing) We have performed this same connectivity test changing the 3750x switches and in two different locations obtaining the same results.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi have a stack of 3750x, with minimal configuration. there are two vlans, and two vlan interfaces with IP addresses. when i ping out from this switch to another host, it picks vlan1's ip address as the source automatically. i tested this by doing two pings with extended options using each vlan's interface as the source, and got different results. how the switch decided to use the first vlan's ip address as a source.

and the following command on each interface: service-policy output VOIP those configuration are working fine on SUP2 with MSFC2 but last week I tried to upgrade the SUP2 to SUP32 on the switch and upgrade the IOS to the latest version (s3223-adventerprisek9-mz.122-33.SXJ4) but when I try to put service-policy output VOIP on each physical interface I am getting the following error:
"Priority command is not supported in output direction for this interface" and when I try to add service-policy output VOIP on a V LAN interface I am getting following error:
MQC features are not supported in output direction for this interface. Will I need to change something after upgrading to SUP32..
I configured dot1x port-authentication on a 3750. The switch sends out a request to the radius server. The radius server sends a answer-packet to the switch udp port 21645 but it seems the switch discards the packet or something like that. The radius server gets the answer "Destination unreachable, Port Unreachable"

I am seeing the following behavior when computers move from one switch to another with dot1x ONLY when there is a 'stupid' switch in between.
computer -------- 'stupid' switch ------- 2960
dot1x is working fine but when the computer is disconnected, the port still shows the authentication session id so when the computer connects to another port or switch, authentication succeeds but traffic doesn't pass. While I'm almost certain that the culprit is the 'stupid' switch that doesn't clear the session id, I have already tried another one and the problem remains so I'm actually just asking for a confirmation that all these 'stupid' switches present this behavior and if there is a workaround in this case.

When I remove the port-control configuration on the interface, the status change to UP/UP.
I have a 3560G and an ASA FW, for which I am trying to use PBR to append the next hop. The gateway is the switch VLAN address and the amended net hop is the same VLAN interface on the ASA. Trouble is, I can ping the FW from a client, but not the switch. If I remove the route map, I can ping both. Even more strange is this is the case for some VLANs, but not all!

I have a Cisco 6509 with IOS "s222-ipservicesk9_wan-mz.122-18.SXF16.bin"I need to enable dot1x on user's ports on the switch. each user is connected to the switch through the IP phone.
I just found out that I can not enabled dot1x on trunk port. I have tried to use "switchport voice vlan " but I got:
Switch(config-if)#switchport voice vlan 123
Command rejected: Gi7/20 is Dot1x enabled port.
let me know what should I do to get dot1x working?
Note: I have connected a laptop directly to the port and dot1x is working fine.
I am confused on how acl's respond on normal cisco switch (eg.6500) when applied on respective vlans. this is my scenario:on a 6506, i have 2 main vlans in question: Vlan 100 ( vendor1 - 172.16.100.0/24 ) & Vlan 200 ( vendor2 - 172.16.200.0/24 ). the requirement is,
- vendor1 should be able to access/ping vendor2 end points
- vendor2 should not be able to access/ping vendor1 end points
Now, if i ping from a host 172.16.100.11 in vlan 100 to another host 172.16.200.21 in vlan 200, will i be able to get a successful response ?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am setting up a link between buildings that uses wireless links. I'm using Layer 3 routed ports on 2 3560 switches to handle the routing between sites. Normally I would just put these in a /30 and then the switches handle the rest. However, the wireless access points have a web interface for managing them that I want to be able to access, but it's only available on the single NIC that also carries traffic. What would be the best way of making this work? Should I make the link a /29 and give the access points an IP in the same range? If this is the case what do I use for the default gateway for the access points?
I have included a diagram to try to explain the issue clearer. The IP addresses in black are what I would do if this were a standard cable (and indeed this will work, but I wont be able to access the admin interface of the wireless AP) and the red ip addresses are the alternative if I use a /29 (but as I said, I'm not sure what to use for the default gateways).

For the MDF I would like to use 2 Nexus 5548's with FEX's, and the layer 3 daughter board. For the IDF's I was thinking of two 4010's.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a stack of 2 x 3750X switches these are running 12.2(55)SE5. I needed to add some static IP routes and found that the ‘ip routing’ command is not supported. I came across a document that stated “On switches running the LAN base feature, static routing on VLANs is supported only with Cisco IOS Release 12.2(58)SE and later.” So I have upgraded to 12.2(58)SE2, but ‘ip routing’ is still not a valid command.
The release notes state:“On the Cisco Catalyst 3560-X and 3750-X Series, it adds support for 16 static IPv4 routes in the LAN Base image.”
I have read other posts that talk about running the ‘sdm prefer routing’ command which I have done, but I am still unable to add any routes or run the ‘ip routing’ command.

All the routing is handled by the 1811 via secondary interfaces on vlan1?

I had this setup and working and I have another set of equirement that I am replacing that is working with my service provider so I know it is a configuration issue. When I ping 4.2.2.2 for example I get:

I am setting up a vm environment for a customer in my lab off site. I have two stacked 3750-x switches, a san, and threes UCS c220 M3S servers for hosts. I am trying to separate the lan traffic, san iscsi traffic, and san management traffic using vlans. The problem is i'm unable to communicate cross vlan with my current config, which I have attached to this post. The only noteworthy things in my conifg is that the ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.83.6 is referring to a switch stack they have on site, that I will connect this stack to using the first two trunk ports on each switch, that I do not have here in the lab. I don't want to cause any confusion in why I have things set a certain way.
