We had a core switch(30 vlans) in our environment and it's noticed that CPU utilization of the core switch is showing high during recent days. I have checked logs and processes, but couldn't find the root cause. The issue found only in the office hourly only(after that the cpu utilization is idle and normal). I have already referred the following link to troubleshoot the issue " [URL]
see the following outputs from the core switch

Note: Each Invalid source mac entry in each day from same port (above is the output after clearing logs before 3 days)
My queries regarding the issues are following
1) How can we find root cause regarding the high cpu utilization?
2) Is a single invalid mac address makes the cpu highly utilized for suppressing it?
We have cisco 4510R+E switch with IOS-XE Software Version 03.01.01.SG RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1).Our this switch is having two core & one core is always going to about 90% to 98% cpu utilization while other core is showing normal (about 5% to 10%),we check with-This switch is gateway of our LAN.
We have two core switches in our network (Cisco WS-4503). HSRP is working as Active-Standby mode. Recently it has been found that core 1 (which is in active mode) shown high CPU load (60% - 100%). Also found that the below mentioned process takes more CPU. Our network consist of around 30 Vlans. We have already checked for the solution in Cisco website [URL] but couldn't find exact reason. see the below outputs for core 1 switch.

In Cisco 3750 facing high CPU utilization for specific period. During this period traffic response times across the switch degrades. Steps to identify interface potentially generating traffic. I have attached 'sh proc cpu history' , ' sh ip traffic', 'sh proc cpu sorted' during troubled period .
I have been facing High CPU Utilization issue with few of my Cisco 4006 Switches together from last one month. Out of which 1 switch issue sorted out auto after 2 days however the problem is still exists with rest 3 switches. They are 6-7 year old and having one SUP engine and other are switch port modules.
i am seeing very high utilization on a random basis on the stack. and the logs indicate me that there is a pattern where there is a stack power cable shows inserted (which was never unplugged) followed by sudden spike in the utilization.

We have also tried Loopguard feature enabled on all ports: but after some period same problem is repeated.

I upgraded the newest IOS 15.0(1)SE for our SW C2960-24-TT-L, the process was succeseful. However, we found SW memory utilization raised to 82% this morning in normal situation. (Momery: Total 21341260, Used17471692) Did you guys meet the same problem after upgrading to 15.0(1)SE? I also would like to know what the normal memory utilization is? and what is the impact of memory utilization highly?
I upgrade the IOS of my switch 3560 from C3560-IPBASE-M), Version 12.2(25)SEB4, To C3560-IPBASEK9-M), Version 12.2(55)SE5 after that the utilizatio of the memory increase to 80% I attached the output of show memory statistics history
WS-C3750G-24TS-S1U switch stack with high CPU utilization. 3 switches are stacked and using PBR on that. I am attaching the show cpu process as an attachment. The current template is "desktop routing" template. The selected template optimizes the resources in the switch to support this level of features for 8 routed interfaces and 1024 VLANs. We have a 6509 core with the below modules running for a long time and the utilization used to be always 10 to 13 percent checking with the supplier it was told to us that due to the firewall modue we have and its normal Now 2 days back i noticed the utilzation had jumped to 90 % and now it happened again

We suddenly noticed high CPU utilization on one of our 7600 routers. I output of show process CPU showed high utlization for the FM core process. I looked it up but did not find information on what this process does. [code]
We have a Cisco 3845 router configured as a voice gateway with multi SIP trunks. But when it reachs 200 calls traffic, the CPU increase to 60-70% and caused by CCSIP_SPI_CONTROL process.

We are facing high CPU Utilization on Cisco 3750X-48P-L without any traffic on it. find the attached log files for 2 separate 3750's stack, we have upgraded the IOS of SW2 from "c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-55.SE3.bin" to "c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-55.SE4.bin" but still we found the same issue with CPU utilization.
I've been looking at reported problems with our Vdeio Conferencing kit attched to a stack of 3750's (which I think is down to QoS) but this got me looking at the logs. We get a lot of high CPU utilization warnings mainly for SNMP (315), Hulc running con (95), Virtual exec (289). I understand the last two are normal, and the SNMP one is probably Cisco Works polling as it happens every 4 hours.
However I've got an odd one: Apr 25 07:34:58: %SYS-1-CPURISINGTHRESHOLD: Threshold: Total CPU Utilization(Total/Intr): 93%/0%, Top 3 processes(Pid/Util): 296/85%, 144/0%, 154/0%
I have a 2 cisco core (cisco WS-C6509-E (R7000) processor) and been working for quite sometime.they are conneted with HSRP with active standby config with a 10 g module for redundancy just today I see that the cpu utilization went to about 50% and its the same on both cores.
We have seen high CPU utilization on some Cisco switches of type 2960S. Also we got info, that applications are running with poor performance or with interruption.Following IOS is loaded: C2960s-universalk9-mz.122.55.SE
I am seeing a strange situation on my 6500 switch?By having snmp walk on '220.127.116.11.18.104.22.168.22.214.171.124.1.3' (== cpmCPUTotal5sec), I came to know that there are two processor and the cpu util for switching processor is gone to 88 % and some time creeps to 99 %.
snmpwalk -v2c -c "removes" sw6500 '126.96.36.199.188.8.131.52.184.108.40.206.1.3' SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.220.127.116.11.18.104.22.168.1 = Gauge32: 12 (--- this is for CPU of Router Processor ) SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.22.214.171.124.126.96.36.199.3 = Gauge32: 99 (--- this is for CPU of Switching Processor )
but when I do sh process cpu on the console, all looks normal as it shows cpu utilization of RP. why the value is so high on the switching processor ?
I am running a 1712 12.4(25d) with NAT, VPN and FW/IDS. I have a broadband ethernet connection at 20mb. As I run some traffic through it, the processor jumps up to near 100% and throughput comes to a screeching halt. IP CEF is turned on and makes no difference when it is turned off or on.
I am looking at the utilization on a Catalyst 3560-E. I am running a test with eight 1 GIGE links RXing at 95 % utilization. All of the traffic is going to a TenGigE port. The device on the TenGigE port is echoing back all of the traffic received, so the 1 GIG links are TXing at 95% as well. When I do a "show controllers utilization", the port utilization numbers are correct, but the fabric utilization is higher than I would expect. The fabric should be 128 gigbits / second in this switch, and there is 7.6 gigabits TX/RX to the ten gig port. The fabric utilization is at 49%. I would expect 7.6 / 128 = 5.9% or possible double that. [code]
we have 2811 router with multiple servers connected to it's lan from which there are monitoring servers in between , the router suffers always from high cpu utilization configuration has alot of ACLs & NAT & IPSEC Tunnel with wan bandwidth 20 M? Is there any method to reduce the high CPU utilization shown below !!

We have a Switch Catalyst 4500, model WS-C4510R+E, with 2 Supervisors, models V-10GE, which is showing high CPU values all times. When this occures, the switch shows 95-100% for total cpu for a few hours at a time.show proccesses cpu shows process Cat4k Mgmt LoPri with an unusual cpu value of 56% The show platform heath command gave me a high reading for K2L2 Address Table R which is curently 9,45% but the last hour is around a 20% average CPU ?[URL] what the process K2L2 Address Table R means and what could be the cause of this peak?
