I am seeing high memory utilisation, it seems to sit fairly stable and I do not see an increase but this has only been running a few days. No errors or performance issues. Should this be a cause for concern?

i am seeing very high utilization on a random basis on the stack. and the logs indicate me that there is a pattern where there is a stack power cable shows inserted (which was never unplugged) followed by sudden spike in the utilization.

i want to understand why this 2 proceses (DHCPD & ARP input) taking more memory?High CPU: We also facing intermediate high CPU utilization (above 95%). View 9 Replies View RelatedI've been looking at reported problems with our Vdeio Conferencing kit attched to a stack of 3750's (which I think is down to QoS) but this got me looking at the logs. We get a lot of high CPU utilization warnings mainly for SNMP (315), Hulc running con (95), Virtual exec (289). I understand the last two are normal, and the SNMP one is probably Cisco Works polling as it happens every 4 hours.
However I've got an odd one: Apr 25 07:34:58: %SYS-1-CPURISINGTHRESHOLD: Threshold: Total CPU Utilization(Total/Intr): 93%/0%, Top 3 processes(Pid/Util): 296/85%, 144/0%, 154/0%
What is Pid 296? It's not listed on the switch:

I have downloaded c3750-ipservicesk9-mz.150-1.SE2.bin and I want to upgrade iOS to this image.
I have a few questions related to this:
1. Is my switch model compatible with this iOS version?
2. Do you recommend the upgrade? Does it bring some notable features?
3. Can I upgrade for free or do I need to buy some license?
4. I also want to upgrade/add the crypto image, can I add crypto for free or some license is required?
5. I have remote access to my switch via the console cable which plugged into machine1. But machine1 is connected to network via the same switch. I am accessing machine1 via SSH, and then the switch via console cable (minicom on CentOS). Is there an upgrade procedure for this kind of situation that also has some fall back (like reboot in X minutes and load the previous image) if the upgrade goes wrong?
I am confused about some things regarding the different IOS versions and their compatibility with certain switch hardware. I understand the differences between the IPBASE and IPSERVICES ios but am not quite clear as to how you can tell which ios images will work on which Cisco switch model platforms, other than the fact that some switches are designed only to run the IPBASE images and others have advanced hardware to run the advanced images. For instance, if I have a 3750-24TS-E with an IPBASE ios on it, can I load an IPSERVICES ios that came from say a 3750G-24TS-E1U? whether the ios on one platform can be transferred to another?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWe added Site02 for redundancy and DR. Also added new SAN and ESX hosts. The CPU on device Site01Server01 is not very happy when files are being transferred between the sites. Since the setup is the same at both sites, why is the problem only at site01?
Site02 is newer and we have two 3750X-24 with IOS 12.2(55)SE3 on ipservices, for site02server01; no problem.
Site01server01 is a stack of two 3750G-24PS with IOS 12.2(58)SE on ipservices.

Got 2 of these switch stacked and there is some changes that we are going to undertake which will require us to utilize the whole 8 or 4 (2 from each switch) SFP ports. Just need some adivce on which particular fiber modules should I procure. Does this switch support 10GB of SFP ?

Ive created the vlan 33 on my core switch and remote SPAN VLANs 133 Core switch is vtp server so i double checked on all switch and vlan 33 and 133 are present When i listen to conversation with wireshark we are only recoding voice of the one who is answering and we don't hear the other person talking?

This error is quite frequent on a daily basis. My question is that will this error create a high CPU situation and affect traffic processing on the stack causing ESX Hosts to become unresponsive?

We had a core switch(30 vlans) in our environment and it's noticed that CPU utilization of the core switch is showing high during recent days. We have a problem of igh CPU Utilization in Cisco 4510R-with dual SUP V-10G modules.
Cisco 4510R switch is the CORE switch and have 30 no's of VLans. It was running PVST/PVST+ previously. But Now we have migrated to MST. But after upgradation the CPU utilization reached alomst 98%.
We have Cisco ME3400 switch, with configuration described below.

1. when user 1 copy data from server ,at that time who is in switch2 behind like user2 ,he is getting problem like when ping to default-gateway,or rto is coming and network is very slow .
2. when i open sw2,sw1,sw3,trunk ports utilization is very high except sw4 to sw1 trunk ports,who behind sw4 like user4 ,he is not getting problem.
3.all switches trunkport in my network is faster ethernet and i have no option to connect trunkport to gigaehternet and ethernet channel.
I upgraded the newest IOS 15.0(1)SE for our SW C2960-24-TT-L, the process was succeseful. However, we found SW memory utilization raised to 82% this morning in normal situation. (Momery: Total 21341260, Used17471692) Did you guys meet the same problem after upgrading to 15.0(1)SE? I also would like to know what the normal memory utilization is? and what is the impact of memory utilization highly?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have two switches WS-C2960S-24TS-L running in stack with running IOS c2960s-universalk9-mz.122-55.SE3.We have connected two checkpoint devices on Gi1/0/24 and Gi2/0/24 with a simple configuration:

On the devices log we get the following message:

The mac-address 0000.0000.fe21 is not found on any checkpoint interface. "Show mac-address int gi1/0/24 or gi2/0/24" does not show the correct mac-address of the checkpoint interface connected to the port, but instead shows 0000.0000.fe21.Is there a bug in the IOS, something wrong with the switch config or does it have something to do with the checkpoint config?
I configured 3750 A switch with vlan 20 and its IP address 192.168.20.41Its default gateway was 192.168.20.3Then i configured 3750 B switch with same default gateway and vlan 20 IP 192.168.20.43My question is now when we stack it becomes single switch and now vlan 20 ip address is 192.168.20.43 thats only IP i can see.So how does stack switch choose vlan 20 IP?Does it choose highest IP address between two switches if they have same vlan 20 as in my case?Also when i go to switch 3750 b by session command and do sh ip route it does not show ip default gateway .Also it shows vlan 20 as admin down .
