I am connecting a 2600 router to an ISP. Interface 0/0 is connected to the ISP using DHCP. Interface 0/1 is connected to the inside providing DHCP services to the inside. At least it should only be providing DHCP services to the inside. I also have a public static IP that is NAT to a private static IP. Everything is working except the computer on the static IP. From the router I am able to ping inside and out from each interface. I am able to ping both interfaces of the router from the computer on the static IP but I cannot ping outside the router. If I do a debug all I see a reject for the gateway of the static IP but it has “mobile IP” in the text string. Not sure what mobile IP is relating to. Networks are as follows:
0/0 DHCP 10.X.X.X 0/1 192x.x.x Static 75.X.X.X no ip dhcp use vrf connected ip dhcp excluded-address 192.X.X.1 ip dhcp excluded-address 192.X.X.2 ip dhcp pool CLIENT
I have a 2600 Router series and I cannot remember the Password. I have tried following web pages that state to use control Break on the boot up but its not working.can reset that pw and write erase my configuration file? Here is my boot up. I have tried hitting control break at the very beginning over and over and then again when at the cold boot it has not worked....

I have a cable modem with my 2600 Router and i have a little speed problem when I'm going out to the web via my F0/0.. according to regular speed test sites my speed is around 20mbps but when i hook up to my modem directly i get a solid 40mbps.. now I've changed my Cat 6 cable from my modem to my router and this are my settings in the router.

I see some drops and lost carriers but not sure what those might mean?
Went away on vacation for a couple of weeks and when I got back my Linksys WRT54G2 has lost it's configuration. It's showing a WiFi signal, but is no longer password protected.
I've tried connecting with a desktop on the same network, to 192.168.1.11, but that address is not connecting. I tried to reach it with my iPad wirelessly, and it's giving me the login screen, but not allowing me to login. I tried to use the reset button on the back to reset it to the factory default, but then I should be able to login with no username and the password of "admin", correct? But that's not getting me in either.
I'd like to get this network password protected again and not offer a signal to all of my neighbors.
I have been saving money to build my ccna voice lab. Recently I bought 2600 and 1700 series routers. One of the 2600 router needed a password recovery so after a refreshing nap i got to work.
During the password recovery procedure, I mistyped confreg 0x1242; by the time I realized my mistake, my computer screen was full of "C" characters Now the whole story is i can not console into it.
Edit:After some research, I found If I use the baud rate 1200 in hyperterminal.i will be able to console into it.When I did that, I noticed that Rommon kept incrementing as:
I recently lost my configuration when attempting to reset the password for our Cisco 3560g switch, the switch connects to a Cisco 4506 switch via fiber back to our main office.
I have the switch temporarily routing all traffic to our 4506 by using the default route of 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.10.10.254 but the same switch is connected to a cisco 2600 router that is on a 10.10.20.0 network and the 3560g is on a 10.0.0.0 network.
Host computers sit on the 10.0.0.0 network, but they need to go to the 10.10.10.0 network for internet, domain, etc the same computers need to go to the 10.10.10.20 for remote connections and other services.
The address of the 3560g is: 10.0.0.254 The address of the 2600 is 10.10.20.2
When the default route is set to 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.10.10.254 (4560 switch) domain browsing works perfectly When the default route is set to 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.10.20.2 (3560G) switch I can ping any ip address in that range and the address on the other interface ip adresses on the 2600 (eg. 10.10.30.1 / eth2, 10.10.40.1/ eth3 etc.)
I have tried to weight the routes after adding them both to the configuration, but that doesn't seem to work at all.
The switch connects back to the office via vlan1 (10.10.10.253) The 2600 is connected to port 1, which belongs to Vlan2 (10.10.20.1) And client computers sit on ports 2-12 belonging to Vlan10 (10.0.0.240)
So in a nut shell, how would I go about setting it up so the machines on 10.0.0.0 can connect to 10.10.20.0 and 10.10.10.0 and vice versa at the same time? Everything was working fine until I rebooted the switch (3560g), which makes me think the person that configured this before me didn't save the running config to the start up config.
When I connect the ethernet directly to my mac the internet works fine, but when I try to connect through my Linksys WRT54G2 V1 Wireless-G Broadband Router I can't connect to the internet. Omitting a few minor problems, my router has been working fine for the past year and a half. Recently it started giving me trouble so i have started trying a number of things to fix it, but I'm no expert in this category. The other day i tried updating the firmware which actually worked for a couple of hours, but then stopped working again.
I have a Linksys WRT54G2 V1 and since I bought my new notebook with Windows 7 I can not access the wifi. I have another notebooks with Windows Vista and a PC with Windows XP that connect perfectly, but with Windows 7 gives me error when loading the password.I Update the firmware to version 1.0.04 (this the latest version I found on the cisco site), but still don't work.I Try chatting with Cisco support and was told he was no longer under warranty.
Been trying to connect to the internet through the modem with ethernet cabe and it repeatedly does not connect. I've set up teh router with the linksys setup program and still nothing.
My laptop connects fine, so I know it is working, but I cannot get my IPhone to connect. I keep getting an error message stating "Incorrect Password" but I know the password entered is correct.
I have a WRT54G2 router with a desktop wired to it. The desktop is mine and my roommate wirelessly connects with her laptop and has been doing so no problem for about 6 months (ever since we got the router). On Christmas Eve, she was connected, went out, came home and found she'd lost her wireless connection. Now she can't get it back.I can still get online on the desktop.i've power cycled to no avail. What is weird is sometimes she will click on the list of available networks (so she can choose which she wants to connect to) and mine WILL be there, other times it will NOT. If she does happen to catch it at a moment when my network is there, and she tries to connect using the passphrase, it says "Trying to connect" or something to that effect, for like 3 minutes and then nothing happens. Also, not that I would need to, but if I go to "connect to" on my PC (as if I were looking to choose a network to connect to), my network name doesn't always show. It is random. Sometimes it does not even show when I go to "Networks" on my desktop.
My network generally runs older routers (2600 series) with 16 port switch modules (NM-ESW-16). This has always worked great since I can configure the router and the switch ports on the fly, making changes to either as necessary. Well I am upgrading to 2811 routers, and we wanted to get gigabit ethernet ports on our switch modules. I think I made an error when I purchased a few of these switch modules: NME-16ES-1G.
The first problem, is that the switch ports don't even show up on the router config, I have to establish a session into the switch, (And I can't seem to get back to the router unless I manually switch off power and restart). I don't like this type of switch module, it's like I'm running a completely separate device, and while having a layer 3 switch is cool, It doesn't let me setup routing protocols so I don't like doing it this way. I want to go back to using a switch module that simply adds a ton of ports to my router like the NM-ESW-16. (Note: The NM-ESW-16 does actually work in the 2811 and would be perfect if it were Gigabit speed.)
The seconds problem is that the NME-16ES-1G isn't actually a Gigabit switch. It has a single gigabit port, but the 16 ports are all Fastethernet, and not gigabitethernet. So ideally, I am looking for a switch module that I can fully configure from the router interface that has 16 gigabitethernet ports, and works with a 2811. IE I want to do this. [code]
We have two MPLS circuits managed by two different suppliers, one carries VOICE the other DATAWe are to decommision the VOICE MPLS and have increased the bandwith of the DATA MPLS to carry VoIP traffic too.
At both of our sites A & B ,devices connected to the LAN have a default gateway of the VOICE providers Cisco 2600 router , which then goes into the LAN switching. (see diagram)So what I am trying to achieve is toto simply replace these 2600 routers from the VOICE MPLS provider with our own so we dont have to change the default gateways at both sites. Testing
Our Cisco 2600 routes are plugged into each LAN switching environment with two subinterfaces configured, one for voip and the other for dataThe problem is from the router and respective subinterfaces we can get to the other sites destination without any issue, but if for example a user is at site A with Ip address 10.16.11.12/16 they cant ping the VOIP subnet at site B 10.3.11.0/24. But If a ping is issue from the Site A test router then the 10.3.11.0/24 subnet is reachable but only on the 10.3.12.0/24 configured subinterface. So i guess what Im saying is 10.16.0.0/16 from the LAN needs to be able to get to 10.3.11.0/24Note at site A 10.16.0.0/16 & 10.3.12.0/24 can communicate no problem and at site B 10.207.0.0/16 & 10.3.11.0/24 can communicate no problem. We are using IP routing, should we be using route-maps?
I need to configure an existing 2600 router to use dynamic NAT for access to the web and ALSO I have (5) fixed IP addresses for use with an email server, a web server, and (3) future servers. I do not know the concept of how to set this up. I'm currently using dynamic NAT for the web and this seems OK but I dont know how to map my fixed servers. I assume this is done with static NAT. Do I need to add sub interfaces on the S0/0 T1 interface for each of these fixed IPs? Then do I somehow do static NAT on these fixed IPs to their respective servers?
I cannot establish a local connection between my new WRT54G2 v1 and my Slingbox Classic. I have reset the Slingbox to factory default settings and run the Sling setup wizard but keep getting told that "No Slingoxes Exist on network". The link light is on on both the router and the Slingbox. Slingbox does not show up in the DHCP host table.
I recently purchased a smart phone that can use my wireless access to get to the internet, however the phone cannot connect. I have verified that I am using the correct password and it is finding the network just fine, it just can't connect. I have had this problem with my laptops as well, but with them I just copied the key to a USB key and used that to get them going. I don't have that ability with the smart phone.
how to best troubleshoot this issue and resolve it? I have also reset the router to allow anonymous internet access with no positive result there either.
I cannot get my JE200 reader to connect. I keep getting an error message stating "No networks available". I have been able to connect my e-reader to other wireless networks so I know it works.
I recently (~month ago) switched to a new computer after my old one (which I had configured the router on previously with no problems) died.Since then, I have been unable to access my router's config page (entering in the ip address simply results in a blank page with no prompt for username/password). Switching browsers (I've tried Firefox 5 and IE 8) does not solve the problem, nor does disabling AdBlockPlus/NoScript on Firefox. Any way to access my router so I can begin forwarding ports again?
i have a simple router on a stick config which is providing dhcp to a customer SSID. however i don't want employees to stay on it and eat the band width since its open. the lease is set to an hour, is there anyway that i could set it so that once your lease expired it can't be renewed for 4 about 8 hours? I am using a cisco 2600 router in this setup.
I want to be able to connect my Canon MX700 printer via ethernet cable to my Linksys Router - WRT54G2, with the ultimate goal of having only the printer and router on, and able to print wirelessly from my iPad, MacBook and/or iPhone.

In my main office, I have a cable modem which is connected to my main E4200 router. All of my equipment (except my Ooma) is served by the E4200. The E4200 broadcasts a wireless network. In my basement, I have a Wii / entertainment center. The E4200 signal from upstairs isn't strong enough to stream video.
I bought the WET610N and have successfully set it up to interact with the E4200 wirelss network. I can hardwire my laptop to the WET610N and verify the internet works greatHowever, the Wii must connect over wireless. I have other equipment in the basement which would benefit from an internet connection. So, I want to A) connect the ESXS88W 10/100 8-port workgroup switch I have to the WET610N *AND* also broadcast a wireless signal in my basement (assuming the wireless network I see in the basement is the same "old" one from upstairs which has not benefited from the WET610N).
How can I set up my WRT54G2 to broadcast a wireless signal in the basement so that it leverages the E4200 signal served by the WET610N, while also having the workgroup switch offer hardwired connections to my other equipment (like Dish Network receiver)? It doesn't seem to work by just plugging the WRT54G2 into the workgroup switch.
My WRT54G2 v1 does not automatically connect to the internet on computer start-up. The computer will say "Connected, No Internet Access" In order to fix it I have to unplug the router and then plug it back in. This happens to any computer that tries to get online from a cold start-up. The router must always be unplugged, then plugged back in, then it will have internet access (and will generally maintain it throughout the session and even if the computer is restarted, i.e. warm boot). I have downloaded the latest firmware uprade.
- I have an older router 2600 running 12.1(4) IOS. - There are a few clients connected to it via the frame relay connection. - There is an IP that clients access 192.168.1.10 for example - We need to do a NAT for this IP for one specific client only like "ip nat inside source static 192.168.1.10 1.1.1.1" - However if I do that, that will effect other clients too - On the interface for this client I'll be using "ip nat outside" - Is there a way to accomplish this without effecting other customers?
I've been working with these two Cisco devices in my home off and on for several months now but I just can't take it anymore, I'm about to throw them away and go back to Linksys router.
I have a Cisco 2600 Router with only one Ethernet card in it so I have to trunk from my 3550 Switch to that device. I'd like to have my ISP and all users plug into switch and all trunk back to the router's sub interfaces. Currently, I have started over...again, and am unable to simply get the router and switch to ping each other if I put sub-interfaces on the router. See my configs:
2600 ROUTER: Router#sho run Building configuration... Current configuration : 555 bytes [code]......
3550 SWITCH: Switch#sho run Building configuration... Current configuration : 2302 bytes ! version 12.2 [code]..........
Port F0/24 is in VLAN 1, as are all ports but Port F0/1 which is my desktop PC. I mocked it up in Packet Tracer and it works just fine. This is just a simple setup and I'm making sure I can ping between switch and router before I move to each next step.
I am trying to configure SDM 2.5 on a cisco 2600.I have access via telnet to the router and was able to change the enable password - which i think is level 15 (right?) and setup (and bring up) the ip on the ethernet interface. I can ping - and get response from - the router Trying to install SDM on the router i need to provide the default username i tried both admin/administrator but SDM can't communicate with the router?
