We would like to enable our HelpDesk and Network team the ability to connect to Laptops using our ASA 5510 VPN device using Secure VNC application. Not sure if this is possible or how to enable this option.
how do i enable port forwarding on the CLI for ASA 5510. outside subnet is 192.168.1.0/27. when i try to ping another IP with that range i can't access.
i'' ve one appliance ASA 5510, v8.X and asdm 6X here u have my configuration :
interface Ethernet0/0 description Link To WAN nameif outside security-level 0 ip address 212.96.23.186 255.255.255.252!interface Ethernet0/1 description Link to LAN(forefront) nameif inside security-level 100 ip address 10.20.80.1 255.255.255.252!interface Ethernet0/2 description Link to CoreSW (DMZ) nameif DMZ security-level 50 ip address 10.70.70.254 255.255.255.0
i have on server ssh (10.70.70.10) on my DMZ .
I wan to enable my external user, i mean outside user to be able to access to this server which is in my DMZ for this port ( ssh)
I have been tasked to connect a 2800 router to our ASA 5510 firewall. The router will be used as a VPN router. It will terminate two different VPN connections to two different networks. I can setup the 2800 VPN config but what would I need to do to setup the firewall. I am using an extra Ethernet port(it has 4) to directly connect the router. The FW has our outside internet connection, the DMZ, and our inside LAN connection. I do not have a lot of experience with Firewalls and I do not want to create a security breach while trying to set this up!!
I am using ASA 5510 Firewall and i have established VPN tunnels too , now i want to Monitor the bandwidth utilization , i have installed PRTG Monitor application and want to add the firewall , how to enable the SNMP in ASA .
I have a dynamic VPN site to site between a Firewall ASA 5510 with ASA version 8.2(1) (firewall ASA have a Static IP 201.111.14.114) and a C870 ISR (the ISR have a dynamic IP). The tunnel and the conectivity in both sides is successfull, however each time that occurs a interface restart because the Internet link is unstable in ISR side the VPN tunnel does not going to UP STATE again
These are the ISR logs listed when VPN going to DOWN *Mar 10 13:58:45.157: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface ATM0, changed state to down *Mar 10 13:58:46.157: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface ATM0, changed state to down
I have a Cisco ASA 5510 with 3 inside interfaces each connected to a 3750X switch port in a vlan. Outside interface is connected to external router with 209.155.x.x public IP. Static route exists for outbound traffic on outside interface.
3750X is configured for inter-vlan routing. VLANs 10, 20, and 30 have 172.16.x.1 IP address with static routes pointing to the each of the ASA inside interfaces - 172.16.x.254. Connected hosts are configured with gateways pointing to the appropriate vlan interface IP - 172.16.x.1.
Inter-vlan routing appears to be working - I can ping back and forth between hosts on different vlans, and I can ping each vlan IP.I can also ping each ASA inside interface from a host in the appropriate vlan, but I cannot ping internet sites (4.2.2.2 or 8.8.8.8) from hosts on the inside interfaces.
I can ping 4.2.2.2 from the ASA CLI. I can ping internal hosts on vlans 10,20,30 from the ASA CLI. But, no luck with pinging from inside host to internet hosts
I'm currently implementing Microsoft System Center 2012 Operations Manager, the curent stage of the project is to add the network devices to SCOM via SNMP in order to monitor them, I am able to add them all and monitor; however, my ASA 5510, although SCOM discovers the ASA via SNMP and adds it to the network monitoring list, it loses SNMP connectivy every 30 minutes, and 15 later it reconnect with SCOM, then after another 15 minutes it loses the connection again, and so on and so for.
I'm working with AnyConnect for the first time (my prior experience is with IPSec client) and I have multiple remote users who connect to a 5520 via AnyConnect client; they need to print to each others' shared printers but currently have no connectivity between each other.
Can I configure the 'intra-interface' command to enable connectivity between remote clients, or is there more that needs to be done to enable this, presuming that it can be done at all?
ASA error message: 16/ERROR: Unable to start VA, setup shared queue, or VA gave up on shared queue.Win 7 x64 client says: "The VPN client driver encountered an error. Please restart your computer or device, then try again."Client Event Log (AnyConnect): "The VPN client has sent the following close message to the gateway: Unable to start VA, setup shared queue, or VA gave up on shared queue."ASA 5510 running latest 8.41(1) and ASDM 6.4(1). Client is latest 3.0.1047.
I have been experimenting with acs 4.2 and a cisco asa 5510. I have managed to authenticate the ASA users with my tacacs server. The user "test" is authenticated with the tacacs server, and can log in. But the enable password is wrong, because i dont know where to place it in the tacacs server.
Now my question is, where do i set my enable password when authenticatig with tacacs+. And for this i mean in the acs 4.2, i know how to do it on the asa.
how do I setup an enable password for an ASA 5510? At the moment its setup to authenticate using RADIUS (which I'd like to keep doing) but I need to setup an enable mode password.
I have a L2L IPSEC tunnel between a set of failover pair of two ASA5510's and a single ASA5505. Over time they will loose connectivity through the tunnel. The tunnel itself stays up, but cannot pass any traffic. When looking at the tunnel I always see this on the set of 5510's (marked in bold @ IPSEC ID 3)?
I've configured an ASA 5510 FW with asa901-k8 ios. on it's "inside" port there is 10.90.0.0 network. there is another network (10.190.0.0) in my system that can be reached via another router which has 10.90.0.253 ip address. when a client in the 10.90 network wants to reach the 10.190 network the fw redirects the request to the router (10.90.0.253) because the fw is my gateway. there is no problem so far... but... while i can ping and traceroute a 10.190... user from 10.90... network, i can't use any non-icmp appliactions. for example i can't use rdp programs, http web interfaces of some devices on remote network (10.190.0.0). what can cause that? is there any rule in asa that blocks these protocols?
I have a simple setup where I have a 2911 router with three interfaces, Inside, Outside and a second "Inside" interface which is labelled as a DMZ. The Zone Firewall applied to the "DMZ" is actually Inside (until I can work through problems). I need to be able to access a device on the DMZ via its external IP so I have designed NAT to use IP Nat Enable commands. This is now working for me fine. However, since utilising IP Nat Enable, my zone firewall now denies return TCP / UDP traffic and consequently I no longer have any internet access. Looking at the syslog messages, the reason for this is that the router is denying these return flows not because they are matching the outside-to-inside policy, but rather they are matching the outside-to-SELF policy. The router seems the detect that the internet traffic is being returned to SELF, when in reality the NAT rule should pick this up and forward it to inside. I can understand why this is happening, because I am NATting all private / inside traffic behind the external IP of the router, which is assigned to the Gi0/0 interface. [code]
How to enable the VPN-3DES-AES and another ASA Box.Mate's license (VPN-3DES-AES Enabled) is not compatible with my license (VPN-3DES-AES Disabled). Failover will be disabled. The license on secondary is not compatible for secondary ASA for the failover. [code]
my windows is no longer connecting to the internet.i I ran a diagnostic and it said to check firewall settings for the http port(80), https prt(443) and the ftp port(21). I haven't change anything in my settings and dont know why all of sudden i hvae to check firewall settings.
I am trying to enable Ftp traffic through our firewall at work. We have a Cisco 5505 ASA and we cannot access any Ftp servers outside our network. We are running 8.3(2). Any have commands I can run to allow us to connect to ftp sites?
I have a pair of brand new 5520s I am in the middle of commission. After carving out all the DMZs etc I needed I realized that I really neede another physical NIC, not just another VLAN off a configured nic. [code]I am running 8.3(2). How can I turn these "Not used" interfaces into useable ones?
I'm replacing a new ASA 5505 due to a corrupted flash. On the original unit, I had the ability to SSH into the device using TeraTerm with no problems. While configuring the new device, I entered commands to enable SSH into the unit.
We recently purchases the Cisco ASA 5505 to get familiar with it, possibly buying more appliances for our branch offices. However, since the appliance is installed, our SIP telephones no longer register with our SIP service provider.
The SIP phones are all on 10.0.1.0/24 while the SIP provider is external via the outside network. I copied our configuration below. how to enable SIP for all 10.0.1.0/24 hosts and ports 5060, 5160, 5260, 5360?
gcxfw# show running-config : Saved : ASA Version 8.4(3)
I am trying to enable access to use RealVNC on our Cisco ASA 5505 without using VPN. RealVNC uses port 5900. Users should be able to vnc to 99.23.119.78 and reach our internal server 192.168.1.4. So far they are receiving connection refused.
I've done this in the past for specific host entries with no problem, but I can't figure out how to do this for an entire subnet. I need something along the lines of the following:
I see netmask as an option, but the ASA states "invalid option netmask." The ASA is running 8.2(2). OKC-PIX(config)# static (inside, outside) 192.168.99.0 access-l OKC2DAL ?
configure mode commands/options:
<0-65535> The maximum number of simultaneous tcp connections the local IP hosts are to allow, default is 0 which means unlimited connections. Idle connections are closed after the time specified by the timeout conn command
I have a problem with an ASA5510 (8.0.4) firewall in South Africa (I'm in the UK).It's a replacement firewall that I am trying to configure remotely through a serial device with an internet facing connection, but the enable password is not working.I can connect to the device OK, type 'en' and when propted for the password whatever I use (blank, cisco, Cisco etc.) I get an 'invalid password' message.
I have configured dhcpd in an ASA 5505 and every thing is working. I am testing it to give me a warning when the address pool is about to be finished or it is empty. But don't konw how to do it. if I run the "debug dhcpd packet", i get that the address pool is empty.
