I'm trying to set up a 5505 (running 8.3) so that i can use the client vpn through RADIUS authentication.I have set up a new local RAIDUS windows box and used the ASDM asistant and a few other guides to setup the 5505.

I get the following error when trying to connect a vpn client through an ASA5505 with an already configured ipsec AES/256 site to site connection:
regular translation creation failed for protocol 50 src:inside:192.168.1.167 dst:outside:xx.xxx.x.64
The site to site addressing is not relevant, I'm not trying to pass traffic over the site-to-site, but rather create a new vpn from inside client to outside external vpn box that's not under my control. The client is able to create a connection, but no traffic is passed, when I try to ping / rdp, the above message is returned to me. If I add the rule static(inside, outside) interface 192.168.1.167 netmask 255.255.255.255 then it works, everything works, but ONLY from this computer.
Been Google for hours, but with no result as of yet.
I have this scenario, AS5510 ver 8.4(3), VPN Client 5.0.07, RADIUS authentication with IAS on Windows 2003 Server.The issue is that, establishing the connection with the VPN Client, if the user credentials are correct every things works fine, but if we introduce a wrong password I don't receive an error message or a again the authentication form.Nothing happens the VPN Client keep trying to "contact security gateway", after about 5 minutes it stops without any message.Debugging the authentication process in the ASA I see that if the password is incorrect the radius authentication response is "reject". I have also tried with a different version of VPN Client but nothing change.Using AnyConnect client every things works fine.
View 1 Replies View Relatedit's probably just me but I have tried real hard to get a simple AnyConnect setup working in a lab environment on my ASA 5505 at home, without luck. When I connect with the AnyConnect client I get the error message "User not authorized for AnyConnect Client access, contact your administrator". I have searched for this error and tried some of the few solutions out there, but to no avail. I also updated the ASA from 8.4.4(1) to 9.1(1) and ASDM from 6.4(9) to 7.1(1) but still the same problem.
The setup of the ASA is straight forward, directly connected to the Internet with a 10.0.1.0 / 24 subnet on the inside and an address pool of 10.0.2.0 / 24 to assign to the VPN clients. Please note that due to ISP restrictions, I'm using port 44455 instead of 443. I had AnyConnect working with the SSL portal, but IKEv2 IPsec is giving me a headache. I have stripped down certificate authentication which I had running before just to eliminate this as a potential cause of the issue. When running debugging, I do not get any error messages - the handshake completes successfully and the local authentication works fine as well.

I get the error 442 Failed to enable the virtual adapter. I have seen a number of solutions, but can not find solutions or workarounds for Windows XP 64 bits.
I try to connect to RV220W with windows 7 client but I fail : error 789. I compare again and again pre shared key, but it doesn't change anything. How to connect to RV220W with IPsec client ?

Does CISCO have any free vpn clients for Windows?I tried to download a client from the CISCO downloads area, but it's for some kind of purchase agreement. I would have thought that the vpn client was free to download given my ASA comes with two free vpn licenses.

They want to VPN in with their Win7 laptop, but they don't want to shell out $1000 for the 10-pack Cisco VPN client.I have successfully setup the clientless VPN, and they can, through a browser, get to their files, but they'd like to map network drives so it's just like they're in the office.I tried setting the IP Sec up on the 5505, and then using the built-in Win7 VPN network connection, but no go.I also do everything through the ASDM, but I realize some things cannot be done. I'd prefer to use the ASDM!Anyone else get this configured? 99% of what I see out here is how to connect the 5505 for site-to-site VPN.

I have difficulties with configuring Remote IPSec VPN with Cisco ASA 5505 and Windows 7 native VPN client. My client PC gets VPN pool IP address, and can access remote network behind ASA, but then I lose my internet connectivity. I have read that this should be an issue with split tunneling, but I did as it is told here and no luck.On Windows VPN Client settings, if I uncheck "use default gateway on remote network" I have internet connectivity (since client is using local gateway), but then, I cannot ping remote network.In log, I see this warnings of this type:Teardown TCP connection 256 for outside:192.168.150.1/49562 to outside:213.199.181.90/80 duration 0:00:00 bytes 0 Flow is a loopback (cisco)I have attached my configuration file (without split-tunneling configuration I tried). i have a question about tunneling a software EasyVPN client to a client ASA Network. It looks like this:
EasyVPN Server 192.168.202.0/24 Network extension mode to Client EasyVPN ASA 192.168.1.0/24 This works fine in both directions. But now i want to connect the client ASA network via EasyVPN software client from outside. The user are already able to connect to the ASA Server on its static outside IP obtaining an IP from a 192.168.21.0/24 pool. This works fine. But how am i able to connect to the 192.168.1.0/24 network from this client?
I configured ACS 5.3 and added AAA clients with TACACS+ server and shared secret key as cisco123. i did the below config on switch also. when i try to authenticate login with ACS it does not respond. Find the configuration and debug output.nd
In debug output it gives ruser and rem_addr is null. i did not understand why .
I am able to ping to ACS server and i used telnet 192.x.x.10 49 and it gives the proper output.

The IPAD VPN works great over token, radius and local authentication. But now we need to authenticate vpn client via digital certificate (only vpn authentication between client and gateway)? I'm not sure which certificate we should buy to authenticate vpn client.The plan is to install digital certifiacte on VPN Gateway (CISCO ASA 8.0.4) and IPAD Cisco IPSec client to eliminate user/pass authentication.

My ISP has just implemented a new network on the cable infrastructure which uses a PPTP authentication method. It works on my Cisco RVS4000 router as there is an option to set PPTP as the WAN type. The only trouble with the RVS4000 is that the performance is very poor, hence I am trying to get it working with a Cisco 1921. I have looked high and low and I cannot find an sample of a Cisco router functioning as PPTP client to a ISP.Enclosed is the screen shot of my Cisco RVS400 with the options etc.

After upgrading the bios to the latest version and installing the latest wlan driver, wireless is working the most time.After about 4 reboots I see the following message in the WLCs logfile: "Thu Sep 18 13:53:10 2008 AAA Authentication Failure for UserName:host/hostname.domain.name User Type: WLAN USER".After I disable the wlan-card, it's working again.

As I have always done with all of my devices that connect wirelessly, I went into the D-Link software and added my phone's MAC address to the network filter list. The security settings are WPA/WPA2. When I try to connect, the phone is able to see my Wi-Fi network, and it asks for my password, which I enter. It keeps trying to connect, but then it says an "authentication error occurred." I have checked and triple-checked the password, and it is correct. I have also checked and triple-checked the MAC address, and it is correct. I have rebooted the router and the phone several times each.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an 1841 that was working fine - I could SSH to it with my Radius login and console into it with local credentials ("Fred").I added another use ("Mike") with priv 15 so the end user could log in locally via console if needed.After that, we can both log in via console, but when we try to enter privileged mode we get "% Error in Authentication", before even entering the password.I can still log in via Radius SSH with no problems and access privilege mode via SSH.What am I missing so we can have two different users be able to log in locally with different credentials and access privileged mode, and keep my ssh radius working?
