Cisco WAN :: 3800 Series To Reset The Password Of Router
Jun 27, 2012
I have Cisco 3800 series router it needs user name and password to access through terminal I don't have the user name and password. Need To reset the password.
Terminal screen shot is attached here you can see that.
I inherited a 3845 router. I am hopeful that I can use it for my home practice lab and connect it to a Cablevision (Optimum Online) Cable Modem. If it is possible what interface card/config I would need? It currently has a T3/E3 card with 2 coaxial connections (was used with a Cogent DS3 connection). I'm guessing I would need to replace it with an Ethernet one (?). Granted - I suspect it may cost a pretty penny, nonetheless I'd like to look into it.It also has 2 dual-port vwic2-2mft-t1/e1 card installed. I am an absolute beginner with Cisco and networking.
I was just configured a 3800 router with this command. I cannot get to the ROMMON mode anymore. Cisco says you should press Break key within 5 seconds after the image decompresses during the boot. But mine is ignoring it and going to load running config directly.
I am wondering how to reset the password for my wireless router? I am finding it hard to set up a new pc each time because it seems the password is always wrong. I want to set it to something I will easily remember.
I have a used wireless belkin router no cd with it i am using it now however anyone has access as i dont know the previous owners password i was wondering if i set it to default factory setting what it would do its model number isF5D7230-4 and im running windows 7 i tried you tube and they walked me through cmd then ip config then it walked me through login no password and i followed entire vidio several times it does not work?
I have a conflict with my satellite Internet connection between the modem and router IP addresses. I also somehow entered a password for the router which I now cannot duplicate. received a request for additional information which I responded to in September. I attempted to follow-up in October again, but I have not received any reply since the first one on August 11, 2011.
I followed the instruction and type cmd, then in the black screen, i typed ipconfig. lots of data appeared, i copied the ip address to the browser, but it can't open the page.
I forgot it. How do I either find out what it is, or reset the E1000 so I can create a new one? (Connection now working fine. Held the reset button for 30 seconds, and conmnection pops right up again.
i'm attempting to access the router's configuration options (192.168.1.1) and it's requesting a user and a password, i have not set any of them so i'm using the defaults, been, user (blank), password (admin) but is not taking them; after 3 attempts it gives me a 404 error.
I have changed the router username/password in the past and either I can't remember it or its not accepting what I am entering, because the router logon will not go through. I have unplugged the router for 5 mins and then let it come back on and still cant get in, pressed the reset button down and let it come back up still nothing, and I have unplugged the cable modem and router for five mins and then plugged them both back up and I still can't get the router to reset to the default admin password. In the past it has worked before but now nothing I try will let me into the router interface to set up anything.

Acquired a 3875 Router with a NME-16ES-1G-P switching service module recently. I don't know what the passwords are. I reset the router, and gained access to it, but how do I reset the password on the service module?
One of my remote office router model is Cisco 2801. Unfortunately I forgot the telnet/vty password of that router. I am sitting 500 KM distance in between in the Head Office. I can ping the router but due to lost password I cannot login to the router. Moreover I dont have snmp enabled in that router. Is there anyway I can reset the router's password remotely from my head office. Additionaly I have a switch directly connected to the router and I can ping and login to the swtich but not the router. I am writing this about the switch or resetting the routers password anyway.
