Dec 11, 2012I have a used wireless belkin router no cd with it i am using it now however anyone has access as i dont know the previous owners password i was wondering if i set it to default factory setting what it would do its model number isF5D7230-4 and im running windows 7 i tried you tube and they walked me through cmd then ip config then it walked me through login no password and i followed entire vidio several times it does not work?

When I go to the support website, there are instructions to reset the network password, but you have to login to change the settings. The instructions say to leave the password field at the login blank but when I leave the field blank, I get an error message "Incorrect password. Please confirm your password and try again." So it seems I need the password to reset the password.

I have unplugged the router for 5 mins and then let it come back on and still cant get in, pressed the reset button down and let it come back up still nothing, and I have unplugged the cable modem and router for five mins and then plugged them both back up and I still can't get the router to reset to the default admin password. In the past it has worked before but now nothing I try will let me into the router interface to set up anything.

May 13, 2013I was given this router (it's my 3rd one) and cannot get the reset button to reset the password. I have run throught a 30/30/30 reset as well as just holding the button in for the standard 30 seconds.
I know the router works, as in i can ping it. It asks for a password when i go to 192.168.1.1, but *blank* and "admin" do not work. When i click the cancel button it displays a pink(salmon) screen that says "401 Unauthorized Authrization required". (all of this is when i am connected to it with an ethernet cable to #1)
When it's sitting there it has an led lit over power and one ove wlan which flickers from time to time.

The former service (modem) was a cisco (1 port) that I connected my EA 2700 Cisco router to and it worked like a charm. My IP phones came right up as well. Now I have an modem/router combo (provided by my ISP) and when ever I attempt to connect to my VPN it will give me an error and not connect. I was told by my ISP that I could bridge the router and try that way.Do I need to set up all over again? or have the settings remained. Also I am unable to access my router with admin/password. Jul 15, 2011I have had this same problem. When I clicked to connect on the wireless router with a new computer, instead of asking for the password (as most routers would) it asks for the PIN. The it takes me through to a strange page where it asks me to enter the name of the network and suggests the name of my computer as the name of the network. Once I chose a name it then connected locally buy not to the Internet and then disconnected my other computer from the Internet too. I tried thecomputerguy's suggestion but when I click on Wi-Fi Protected Set Up" it asks me for a password before I can access custom settings. It then won't accept the router password i had originally created, the pin or any of the other codes on the bottom of the router.It was weird-almost as if entering the router pin from my new computer overwrite the previous settings. The router has an installation cd which I didn't use when trying to connect the new computer-not sure if this has caused the problem?

After changing the password and clicking on Save a small screen pops up asking me to verify my router's username and password. When I enter the exact same user name and password it does not accept them. When I try to enter the old user name and password it does not accept them either. I then try combinations of the two and it still will not accept the input. I have reset my router 4 times now and this keeps occurring. I am completely baffled.
