I have a conflict with my satellite Internet connection between the modem and router IP addresses. I also somehow entered a password for the router which I now cannot duplicate. received a request for additional information which I responded to in September. I attempted to follow-up in October again, but I have not received any reply since the first one on August 11, 2011.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two of the Wrvs 4400n V2 VPN (V2.0.2.1-ETSI) routers in different countries, one in the UK and one in Australia. They are permanently linked using the IPSec VPN tunnel and the dynamic DNS feature (DynDNS.org). I have found that the router in the UK does not update its IP address automatically to the dns website when the UK Internet service provider changes the WAN IP of this router. This makes the IPSEC tunnel go down until I telephone the UK location and ask to force the router to update its IP address with dyndns by restarting it or by using the routers configuration to re-save the password for dynamic dns.

When I go to the support website, there are instructions to reset the network password, but you have to login to change the settings. The instructions say to leave the password field at the login blank but when I leave the field blank, I get an error message "Incorrect password. Please confirm your password and try again." So it seems I need the password to reset the password.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've used many Cisco RV042/082 and have just purchased a couple previously used RV016 units.The first think I do is hold down the "reset" switch until the units reset to factory and then proceed programming them - EXCEPT this last unit doesn't seem to be resetting the administrative password.The unit has reset so that it is 192.168.1.1 and is handing out IP assignments via DHCP in that range.
When I point my browser (IE9) to the web page http://192.168.1.1 I am prompted to log on. I enter 'admin' for user name and attempt to enter the same for the password. The browser returns me to the logon prompt and after a few apparently failed attempts it displays a 401 error Unauthorized page.
In desperation I have tried:

/ password
admin / rv016
and simply admin with a blank password.Isn't the admin password supposed to reset with everything else?If not - how can I - if it is, then what would be preventing the admin password from resetting - is there an internal jumper or something I could try? I don't care about preserving any setting obviously I just want access to the admin interface.
I get a "IP address conflict" message on my wireless network. Using a WRVS4400n wireless router with the latest firmware that is set to PPoE. Motorola 336 dsl modem is set to bridge mode. My network has 2 computers attached: hardwire desktop and wireless connection to laptop. When I contacted ATT support, they said the problem is in the wireless modem. Are there some settings in the WRVS4400n that must be set to insure that each computer gets a different IP address?

I have unplugged the router for 5 mins and then let it come back on and still cant get in, pressed the reset button down and let it come back up still nothing, and I have unplugged the cable modem and router for five mins and then plugged them both back up and I still can't get the router to reset to the default admin password. In the past it has worked before but now nothing I try will let me into the router interface to set up anything.
