I upgraded the firmware for my WRVS4400N v2 to version 2.0.2.1 firmware, now old and default passwords don't work. I have tried resetting it as well, and the default password does not work.
View 1 RepliesI have a linksys wrt54gs wireless router (working fine since last 3 years) which connects to the internet fine if there is no password set. However if i set WEP password to protect the wireless connection, i am not able to connect to the wireless connection. Everytime i enter the passphrase, when trying to connect to the wireless network, it refuses to accept the password. I have tried this with 2 laptops (both running windows 7) and both have same issue.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought a WRVS400N v2 to be used as an access point. Currently it is hooked up on my switch via a trunk port and is able to communicate with my gateway. Whenever I try to access an IP subnet other then the local IP address of the WRVS, I get a network unreachable error. To fix this for my local networks, I added the appropriate static route to cover my local LANs and that seems to work now. I tried to add route 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0 using the web interface for internet access, but somehow it does not recognize this as a default route (quad zero!?). Does any know how I can set the default gateway in this router? Maybe, but hopefully not, I have to use the WAN port to create some kind of uplink and use one of the LAN ports to connect using the trunk port and route traffic for the clients over the WAN port .

The routers have been found reset to the factory defaults on three occasions, twice on one of them and once on the other. Both sites are unmanned so no-one is on site to have pressed the reset button, and both routers were set to have remote management disabled. They are running v2013 firmware.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter a long effort I managed to get my WRVS4400N to work and provide a stable WLAN/LAN and to define all network devices in my home office. It is running the latest firmware (2.0.1).
I created a seperate SSID and a vlan for it (vlan ID is 3 and IP is 192.168.1.xxx while the default vlan IP is 192.168.0.xxx).
My plan is to use that SSID/vlan for the kids and block some bad content for them via the router there.
I want to make a ACL for that vlan but in the computer list option I can only specify ranges in the default VLAN segment (192.168.0.xxx) while in practice I need the 192.168.1.xxx segment.
I can't switch to .0.xxx as some devices are hard wired to be .1.xxx on my network.
I have the following zebra.conf on my router box "A":

eth0 is connected to a switch and contains the 192.168.2.0/24 range, and A is connected to my WRT54GL "B" (with IP 192.168.1.1, containing 192.168.1.0/24 range, DHCP serves IPs above .100) wirelessly. B is connected directly to my DSL modem.
The problem is that when I specify the default route using the interface name, I can't connect to the internet from A or any hosts behind it - I'm always hit with a "no route to host" error. Name lookup and pinging any local host (even in a different range) or the DSL modem works fine - it's only when going beyond the modem that things stop working. However, when I use the IP of B as the gateway, it works fine. I noticed that route output on A when the default route was specified using the interface alone had only an asterisk in the gateway column. I was under the impression that these approaches should be identical in practice, so though I got it working, I'd like to know what I'm misunderstanding (and/or misconfiguring). Why didn't the default route work when specified using just the interface?
All routers and the modem too have RIP (version 2) enabled, and of course the password isn't really the word "password".
We have a Cisco Catalyst 4506 running: "Cisco IOS Software, Catalyst 4000 L3 Switch Software (cat4000-I9K91S-M), Version 12.2(25)EWA14, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)" I have configured the default gateway as: ip default-gateway X.Y.116.65, However, when I do, "show ip route", it only shows the 3 connected networks and states "Gateway of last resort is not set". The Command "ip classless" is not set. I read on some blogs that this might explain the issue. However, when I go into config mode (config t), I get the following output.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWe have an AIR-LAP1142N-E-K9 deployed in a H-REAP setup.This AP already got the configuration from the WLC when it was deployed at a remote site.Now we moved it to another site, but it doesn't appear in the WCS and i don't see any CAPWAP debug messages on the WLC.The routing work fine between the AP and the WLC, the AP also gets an IP address from DHCP and also received Option 43 information.
Now my guess was that the AP doesn't associate with the WLC because it has the old config file and it runs in local mode(without trying to connect to the WLC).We want to reset to factory defaults because we want to delete the configuration and force the AP to get a new config from the WCS.I don't know the enable password so i had to use other methods for reseting to factory defaults.

I had something strange happen to my WRVS440N router yesterday. Our network had crashed for some reason. So I attempted to log into the device to see what was wrong and I was surprised to discover that all of the settings including user name and password had reverted back to factory default.
1. What are all of the possible scenarios that would cause this to happen?
2.Would disconnecting power in the middle of a boot up sequence cause the router to revert to factory settings?
Apple AirPlay won't work on AppleTV (from neither computer nor iPhone) with my new Cisco small busines router WRVS4400N. It was working just fine on old consumer level linksys router. I have spent 3 hours with Apple support to no avail. Apple TV works fine on internet functions (netflix, YouTube, etc.) and I can play music and videos from the cloud, but iPhone and computer can't connect to AppleTV even though the icons appear in iPhone and Computer... just can't establish a connection.

I installed my brand new TP-Link router and both wired and wireless internet connection work perfectly fine. Remote Management is enabled on port 8080. Should it be changed to 443 as required for QVPN? Or it does not matter. Is it ok, to have management on 8080 and QVPN on 443?
I have tried to connect via QVPN Client ver. 1.4.1.2. Of course ip as well as user and pass has been changed. I tried to change management port to 443, but first:
1. i was not able to access management console at all
2. QVPN - still did not work
I recently upgraded the firmware to 2.0.2.01-tm (from 2.0.0.19-tm). Now I noticed the RV082's local DNS server ("DNS Local Database" feature) does not work any more. Any URL-IPaddr combo I used to put in there was resolved prior to sending a request to the WAN's primary/secondary DNS server. It isn't a PC problem. I tested on different real and virtual machines, windows and Linux. Is there new "enable" switch somwhere?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've used many Cisco RV042/082 and have just purchased a couple previously used RV016 units.The first think I do is hold down the "reset" switch until the units reset to factory and then proceed programming them - EXCEPT this last unit doesn't seem to be resetting the administrative password.The unit has reset so that it is 192.168.1.1 and is handing out IP assignments via DHCP in that range.
When I point my browser (IE9) to the web page http://192.168.1.1 I am prompted to log on. I enter 'admin' for user name and attempt to enter the same for the password. The browser returns me to the logon prompt and after a few apparently failed attempts it displays a 401 error Unauthorized page.
In desperation I have tried:

and simply admin with a blank password.Isn't the admin password supposed to reset with everything else?If not - how can I - if it is, then what would be preventing the admin password from resetting - is there an internal jumper or something I could try? When I first installed it it ran fine for wireless as well. I was trying to get WDS to work and at some point the wireless stopped working. My laptop can no longer connect to it and often cannot see it when doing a scan for networks. I have already checked that it isn't a problem with the laptop, that there are not other networks causing interferance, and even tried resetting to default configs.

I'm trying to NAT to a device that doesn't have a default gateway; effectivley we want to talk to the device as if we're on the same LAN but using only port 80.Here's the setup:
Remote Device on LAN A <-> RA <-> Remote router WAN A <-> ISP <->--
--<->ISP <-> Remote router WAN B <-> RB <-> Remote Device LAN B (no default gateway)

we have a 878 router and we want to mark traffics when entering on its lan interface.its lan interface is a layer 2 interface and we have created vlan interface and assosiated lan interface to that vlan.on vlan interface itself there is no service-policy command so we have to put serive-policy command on interace fast 0 itself which is layer 2 port.when we assign service-policy to fast 0 it doesnt work and it does not mark any traffic also class default counters doesnt increase to indicate any traffic is passing even it is not getting marked. ios version is advipservices.124.9T. How to mark traffic on this port. ii dont know why service-policy command is supported on layer 2 interface when it doesnt work at all.
