I can backup the router settings on an RV110W, but not restore them. I get an "unable to write" error. (probably not the exact verbiage). Defective router, or firmware issue?
View 14 RepliesI have a problem with my RV110W router. I would like to setup Quick VPN access. Manual is quite straightforward: enable management, create users, install client and that's all, should be working. But NOT. it does not work.
Remote Management is enabled on port 8080. Should it be changed to 443 as required for QVPN? Or it does not matter. Is it ok, to have management on 8080 and QVPN on 443?
I have tried to connect via QVPN Client ver. 1.4.1.2. Of course ip as well as user and pass has been changed. I tried to change management port to 443, but first:
1. i was not able to access management console at all
2. QVPN - still did not work
After a day of troubleshooting I have finally got the QuickVPN client to work. I connect however during the connection I get: "Server's certificate doesn't exist on your local computer. Do you want to quit this connection?" I click no and it connects fine other than this error. So how do I get rid of this error? Also I have exported the client certificate from the RV110 and put it in the quickvpn directory as I saw suggested elsewhere.

- Re-flash the router with latest European firmware - 1.34b05EU

I recently upgraded the firmware to 2.0.2.01-tm (from 2.0.0.19-tm). Now I noticed the RV082's local DNS server ("DNS Local Database" feature) does not work any more. Any URL-IPaddr combo I used to put in there was resolved prior to sending a request to the WAN's primary/secondary DNS server. It isn't a PC problem. I tested on different real and virtual machines, windows and Linux. Is there new "enable" switch somwhere?

However if i set WEP password to protect the wireless connection, i am not able to connect to the wireless connection. Everytime i enter the passphrase, when trying to connect to the wireless network, it refuses to accept the password. Didnt really think anything of it then it got annoying fast. So i checked my configs and nothing was out of normal checked my firmware and noticed it was out of date. So i grabbed the newest firmware 1.2.0.9 and uploaded it... uploaded fine and then rebooted as it should at that time the power flickered again because somone had plugged an large ac adapter over top of the power switch on the power bar and it was intermittently turning the power off when the table moved... the router then power cycled mid update and is now stuck at the blinking power light state and hasnt changed for 24 hours now...

I can successfully print from both Mac's, however I have to manually disconnect and connect the printer in the vusb client. I can't get the auto-connect and auto-disconnect settings to work by themselves. Any guidance on the proper settings here?Additionally, do I need to configure the printer driver though the vusb client? And then everything changed back to its original like my SSID from Netcom it changed back to wireless and everything was default and also the PPP was off so i wasn't able to connect to the internet. So i went to my router setup page on the internet or whatever and turned it back on. So now like the internet on my computer which has a cable to the router works but the wireless internet doesn't work for my laptop nor ipod. View 5 Replies View RelatedTrying to troubleshoot a Cisco Pix 501. We have a cable modem/router that goes to the Cisco box that then goes to my wife's computer. It's worked flawlessly since we hooked it up, even if we unplug/replug the router. Today, we unplugged the Cisco box itself to hook up a newer one. When the newer one didn't work, we tried to hook up the old one again to no avail. The led indicators seem to show that everything's working properly. We've unplugged and rebooted everything. Nothing works. The network monitor on the computer shows that it detects being connected to a network, but it always says no internet access.

So I use the "Diagnose and repair" feature which tells me to either reset the ip address or something or one of my cables is unplugged so I should unplug the modem and router and replug it back it after checking the cables.The resetting the ip address doesn't do jack but if I unplug the router and replug it in, the wi-fi works again...well, until i log off and log back in againI've also tried updating my wifi drivers, run a scan for viruses, and updated all my software. I am using a MR3420 V2 together with a E398 modem. The connection works well, but I can't do any port forwarding (virtual server). Using another router (Tiny Dovado) with the same E398 modem works flawlessly to forward ports.
I have the 1.0.03 firmware installed and URL blocking doesn't work. I assigned the policy to the entire address range and could still access the web site I wanted to block.

Just got TL-MR3040 from amazon, not very happy that it is version 1, they could at least mention it in the description, but whatever...The problem is, i can not make it work with my PC laptop(thinkpad x120e with Windows 7 64 bit). Which means,1 not possible to get into web interface to configure it, and 2 if i configure it with old powerbook (os x 10.4) to share internet from usb stick, i can connect to it's wireless network but it doesn't share internet with my pc laptop,while mac and ipad working perfect...I've try to log in into web interface through the cable, still no luck...Not sure i want to re-install the whole system on my laptop just to see if it will change anything, it works with any other router, and usb sticks...

I've just set up a MR3420. It works fine in "WAN only" mode and provides access via our ADSL modem. It also works fine in "3G only" mode and provides access via a Reliance Netconnect+ USB modem (a Huawei E150 I think). I updated the firmware to the latest version in order to get it to work with the USB modem.
The problem I have is that when I set it to "3G preferred" it doesn't seem to connect over 3G. I can see it tries to connect but then fails and then WAN takes over. The connect and disconnect options are greyed out on the 3G page so I am unable to manually get it to retry. I've tried leaving it for a long time but it doesn't seem to connect over 3G ever. I've tried setting 3G to connect on demand and connect automatically but both behave the same.
