Cisco Switching/Routing :: Restore Default Settings For SRW224G4
Mar 22, 2012
One of our costomers has a SRW224G4 Switch - which has not any documentation :-(
I do not get onto the switch in any way. I do not have an IP-Address, the default settings for he serial port do not work ... So I cannot reach the device and reset the password like described in: [URL]
Is there any other way to reset the device? I cannot find any reset button.
-core switch cisco 6509 vtp server -access switches 2960 vtp server -no vtp domain set on any switches -no vtp password set
untill now i manually set the vlans on switches (didnt see anything automatic created on switches)is there any danger with the above settings , that a switch with domain name set and higher revision numberwill delete my vlan settings? if yes how can i protect/disable vtp in my LAN
I have a customer that is seeing output drops on a 2960S with mls qos not enabled. It appears that they are getting bursts traffic on the switch that is filling up the buffers, hence causing the drops. I have a couple of questions:
1. What are the default queue/buffer settings when mls qos is NOT enabled on the switch. 2. Is there any good documentation out there regarding the buffer sizes of the different switch models
The customer is looking for an answer as to whether or not replacing the 2960S with a higher model would eliminate the output drops WITHOUT having to mess with QOS/buffer/drop threshold settings on the switch, and Cisco doesn't seem to make the buffer sizes readily available for the the smaller Catalyst switches.
I would like to upgrade the firmware on my SRW224G4 switch but I don't know which file I should be using. When I go to download firmware I see links for the following
"Cisco SRW224G4 24-port 10/100 + 4-port Gigabit Switch - WebView" Which has firmware 1.2.3.0 "Cisco SRW224G4 24-port 10/100 + 4-port Gigabit Switch - WebView V1.0" Which has firmware 1.2.2a
I'm not sure which firmware I should use, and the last thing I want is to brick this switc.
First time on this forum: I have a client running a Windows 2008 server, Windows 7 OS. We set the default printer as the server file cabinet printer, however, between logging off in the evening and back on in the morning the default printer switches to his local printer
I'm having trouble with an 800 series router. Work has borrowed it to me so i can practice for my icnd2 exam. Only problem is it has a username and password on it. I have been told i can wipe the device and start over. but i cant get in to the user mode or any mode's as i don't have the user name and password. Is there a way of resetting the router back to factory defaults with out logging in to it?
I wonder how i can restore my router to its defalt settings if my reset button is broken and the router has lock the mac of my pc. Can i connect the router to my pc and access it from it?
The ap 3502i has been registered to the wireless controller, but now want to restore the factory settings, repeated after the upgrade or will appear before the registration information of the wireless controller,
I currently have 2 cisco aironet 1121G access points. Both of which I believe had an image fail during an upgrade from autonomous mode to lightweight mode. I have tried to reset these access points as directed from Cisco's instructions. I have done a reset (amber light on the middle) and a factory restore (red light in the middle) They go through the steps to restore to factory default, however, after what I believe is an attempt to pull a dhcp address before defaulting into 10.0.0.1 ip address, the access point restarts. This is happening to both of them. After they reset and go through the series of memory tests, I am able to get all three solid green lights, they stay lit for just 15 seconds (rather than 5 minutes so that i can load a new image) I am not sure why they are behaving this way. I have tried as many different possibilities resetting with the mode button. There is no console port on this model of access points so i am unable to manage it otherwise.
I can backup the router settings on an RV110W, but not restore them. I get an "unable to write" error. (probably not the exact verbiage). Defective router, or firmware issue?
I need to backup my ASA 5505 configuration and restore it to default, then I'll configure manually the new config, but if something doesn't work I want to restore the backup made before.
I tried the "copy run tftp" command, and it always answers the same: Result of the command: "copy run tftp" [code] I read everywhere its supossed to prompt asking me tftp server address and file name.
I messed up the IOS on the flash of CISCO881-SEC-K9. On reboot it booted to ROMMON which allowed me to tftp up a working IOS c880data-universalk9-mz.151-4.M3.bin. Unfortunately somewhere in my playing around the default startup configuration factory loaded on the routerhas been erased. I can load a new a config on the device but as I'm using the router to learn its useful to have the original config load when I factory reset the device. What is the factory start up config?
I am in the process of setting up an interop lab for some engineers. The enviornment will consist of some 3750's, H3C's and ProCurves. My concern is that the end user will have Priv-Exec access for CLI usage on the 3750's and they can change the "en" password (I hope they don't but it has happened). Is there a way I can "break in" during the boot process to reset the password? The reason I am doing it this way is because I have an Altiris server with rebuild automation scripts in xpect and I would like to automate the process so I do not have to use a manual factory default reset.
I was in the process of recovering a password on a nexus 5548 swith when it finally gets in to the boot mode.I think i lost all my bootloader code. How do i get it back on the switch
i need to know that how can i make vlans in Linksys SRW224G4 Layer 2 manageable switch , because i have 100 users network having lots of users using more then 1 ip to connect 4 different servers having different ip class pools, what i need is, i want to use only single ip pool with Class B Address like 172.16.6.0 for all network users which all connect to far end servers through layer 2 Linksys SRW224G4 manageable switch controlling to allow different IP pools ? like 172.16.1.0 / 172.16.55.0 / 172.16.99.0 and 192.168.1.0
Does the following setting is a shipping default in the ACS 5.1?,In the Access Policies ->Network Device Admin -> Identity -> Advanced Options, the If user not found was set to “Continue” .
We need to "reset" a SG200-08P switch back to the factory default settings and noted the "Quick Start Guide" implies the "Reset" button next to the power button doesn't exist and refers the user to the "Cisco Small Business Smart Switch Administration Guide" for instructions. We couldn't find any information related to a "factory reset" in that document either. Pressed the "paper clip button" on the switch but we still can't get in.
I have 2 WRVS4400N routers that were installed at 2 remote locations to provide VPN access to these sites. The routers have been found reset to the factory defaults on three occasions, twice on one of them and once on the other. Both sites are unmanned so no-one is on site to have pressed the reset button, and both routers were set to have remote management disabled. They are running v2013 firmware.
What would cause my Dir-825 to magically revert to it's default settings? This is the 4th time this has happened. We rely on a Verizon Network Extender for phone service. It requires an internet connection to function. When the router brain-farts, we don't have phone service... and we don't know it until we try to call out, or try to use the internet. We went to bed last night with the router working and woke up to it not working. It's just my wife and I here. I haven't seen the dog showing any interest in jacking with our computer gear.
When I access the setup utility and go to Manual Wireless Network Setup, the Wireless Network Name has defaulted to dlink, and Security Mode is None. I have to re-enter my personalized setup info, (because that is what our computers are looking for), then all works fine again.I'm a savy XP user, my wife has Vista (yuk) (she doesn't know any better; her daughter installed it).We are Comcast customers. We own a Linksys CM-100 modem. (When I connect direct by hardwire, (i.e. bypass the Dir-825 router), from the modem to any computer, or the Verizon Network Extender, they function just fine. Setup utility for Dir-825 says we have Hardware Version B-1; Firmware Version 2.02NA.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP. I see other posts addressing similar issues of reversion to default settings... but there don't seem to be any clear resolutions of these issues. On 2010-03-11, gunrunnerjohn posted, "I think there may be a shadow file that's actually in the FLASH that needs to get written back to make the changes stick. I seem to recall there is a command to sync the RAMDISK copies to the FLASH." Yet there is no more to this thread.
Recently purchased a RVS4000 Router, which included v1.1.14 firmware. Is it necessary to reset the router to Factory Default settings, after upgrading to v1.2.11, as in most of the other previous upgrades?
I currently have this router in use with verizon dsl (PPPoe) setup.I have this set to "always on". Since the verizon modem, which is also router has been set into bridge mode and the d-link came into play its been extremely slow, and dropping connection. The router is in a separate IP class, and has no conflict with the modem. My question is, if I upgrade this firmware from 1.0 to 1.02 will it default to factory settings? I know it says only some will. I do have the backup config file, but i would be doing this remotely, and would not be able to get to this router if it goes down. Has anyone gone from 1.0 to 1.2 and saw a difference and speed, and are you able to do this without losing settings.
I have a 1941 router configured for Policy based routing with two ISPs.Two static default routes configured to point the gateways of respoective ISPs with same metric. But the problem is, packets are going throug the one ISP only while doing traceroute.
N/W connectivity:
ISP1-----> <----------------------> LAN1 | Router | ISP-------> <----------------------> LAN 2
Below is my configuration :
Current configuration : 5958 bytes ! ! Last configuration change at 05:18:56 UTC Mon Jun 25 2012 ! version 15.0 service timestamps debug datetime msec service timestamps log datetime msec no service password-encryption
I have two ISPs. Each is on it's own subnet connected to the 6509 MSFC/Switch. FW1 is on 100.1.100.0/30 and FW2 is on 200.1.200.0/30 subnet. My goal is route all traffice going to the Internet from subnet 10.133.3.0/24 to FW1 and all other subnets across the organization to FW2. I am not sure if I need to use ACL / Static route combo, or just a static routes or ACLS?
I had something strange happen to my WRVS440N router yesterday. Our network had crashed for some reason. So I attempted to log into the device to see what was wrong and I was surprised to discover that all of the settings including user name and password had reverted back to factory default.
1. What are all of the possible scenarios that would cause this to happen?
2.Would disconnecting power in the middle of a boot up sequence cause the router to revert to factory settings?
My router automatically sets the wireless network settings to the original default. Sometimes after 1 hour sometimes after a week. It resets to automatic instead of the manulal settings I use for configuration. Changes the SSID to Linksys and disables wireless security.
So just recently my Internet has been running a lot slower than normal at different times of the day (completely random, could be fine for hours then just turns slow). I know it's not the Internet itself, since it's only happening on my computer, and none others in the house - and I'm far from capped. I've run AVG, Spybot & Malwarebytes' scans and have found no infections of any kind. I've run TCP Optimizer and used the "reset to windows default settings" feature, which also hasn't worked one bit. I've tried different Ethernet cables and different plugs in the modem and no improvement.
