I would like to upgrade the firmware on my SRW224G4 switch but I don't know which file I should be using. When I go to download firmware I see links for the following
"Cisco SRW224G4 24-port 10/100 + 4-port Gigabit Switch - WebView"
Which has firmware 1.2.3.0
"Cisco SRW224G4 24-port 10/100 + 4-port Gigabit Switch - WebView V1.0"
Which has firmware 1.2.2a
I'm not sure which firmware I should use, and the last thing I want is to brick this switc.
We have about 30 SRW224G4P switches throughout our network(each one located at remote site) and we have been having problems with these locking up. Normal symptoms are; I can ping the switch but cannot get to the login promot via telnet, ssh, or web-gui even though the ports are open. And how to plugged into the switch after this happens canont reach my router for DHCP.
I did a firmware upgrade to "SRW224G4P_SRW248G4P_image.bix" on one of the switches at our office and this seemed to fix the problems however after the upgrade was compete the config was blank. Is that suppose to happen or did I miss something? I would like to upgrade the firmware on all my our SRW224G4P switches without having to travel to each remote location and reconfigure each switch after the upgrade.
One of our costomers has a SRW224G4 Switch - which has not any documentation :-(
I do not get onto the switch in any way. I do not have an IP-Address, the default settings for he serial port do not work ... So I cannot reach the device and reset the password like described in: [URL]
Is there any other way to reset the device? I cannot find any reset button.
Got 2 pcs. of C2950G-24-EI which are both running 12.1(9)EA1. Now I was thinking to upgrade them to the latest available (12.1.22-EA14), but before I do this task I'd like to know if there's a way to check in advance if those images will run. Any way to check about available memory or memory needs?
i am trying to upgrade the firmware in my C2960 switch to 15(1) SE2, and i get the error:Failed to execute the command archive download -sw /overwrite /http iosFile
Yesterday I tried to install c2960-lanbasek9.mz.12.55.SE4.bin onto my router. When I changed the boot commands, I did not leave the 2nd option in there and the old firmware has an .ex3 extension. After trying to boot to this new image, we receive a looping error message that continues to reboot and go through the same process.Basically the error is "ERROR: firmware not supported by hardware"I have power cycled it a few times but durning bootup, I never see the ################## which would allow me to BREAK sequence and get into rommon. The device simply waits about 30-40 seconds after boot and goes right back to the looping reboot sequence and the error message. Is there any hyper term or putty settings to change on this?
I have a stack of 4 Cisco Switch 3750 (1 x WS-C3750G-24T, 2 x WS-C3750-48P and 1 x WS-C3750V2-48PS) and I want to do an firmware upgrade of this stack. Actually, all the 4 switches are at the firmware version 12.2(50) SE1 "IPBase" and I want to upgrade them to 12.2(55)SE5 IPBase. According to the release notes, all the switches in my stack are supported.
To upgrade the firmware, I use the command "archive download-sw /imageonly /overwrite tftp://IP_Address/c3750-ipbaselmk9-tar.122-55.SE5.tar" The firmware gets uploaded correctly but then I get the error message "There is insufficient space in flash: to install the required image. Clean up some old images, and try again."
When I do a "show flash", I see that the switch has 5650944 bytes free of 15998976 bytes.
How can i upgrade my switches? Is there an error in my command which I use? Do I need to add an other option?
The problem is, the switches are located in a branch office and there is no direct access to them. Everything must be done remotely.

I have a dlink dir 615 router that has started to drop wireless signal continuously (as in once every minute or so). I looked into potential issues and all signs point to firmware upgrading as the solution. I even looked up the latest firmware for my unit and it indicate that it repaired wireless connection issues. But my issue is that I downloaded the latest firmware and it won't let me install it. It keeps saying that it isn't the right file or my router is too busy to complete the upload.
Can I use firmware for switch Cisco SF300-08 on switch Linksys SRW208? I need to connect IP Phones and propagate voice vlan over CDP or LLDP, that's why I would like to use firmware "Sx300_FW-1.1.1.8.ros".
I was given a linksys SRW224G4 switch .. It seems to work fine on some ports and others dont,I am tring to log into it to see what the current config is . I cant seem to find what ip address its pulling to be able to log into the web interface. I have tried the blue cable , and using hypertermail but with no luck .. I dont have com 1 or 2 as an option on my latop just com 3. how I can log into this switch and rest it back to factory specs so then I can go though and setup how i want.
I was wondering if there was a difference between the Linksys SRW224G4 & Cisco SF300-24 switches. Going through the support docs I see the SF300 has limited L3 functionality in terms of being able to establish static routes between VLANS. Any further information would be of use.

My router refuses to link to the internet. Status indicates Interface: Down. I thought this was probably a firmware upgrade issue but can only find v1.01.03 which is already installed. Linksys website has no firmware listed for download.
I have downloaded and re-installed the v1.01.03 .img file with no effect. Is this the latest firmware for this model?
I was in the process of upgrading the firmware on my Linksys WRT54G router when a connection interruption occurred. Now, the router will not boot up and I cannot communicate with it.Is there a way to reset the firmware?

I would like to upgrade the firmware for my WRT54GS V2.1 router however, I only see versions 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 3.0, etc.. There is no 2.1 listed, so does this mean I can use the v2.0 firmware?
I just purchased a new E1200 router with firmware version 2.0.01 and downloaded the latest version 2.0.03 and tried to install it through the router. When I choose the downloaded file and try to start upgrade I immediately get an error "The Image File is Incorrect". I redownloaded it and tried again with the same error. how to get past this and upgrade the firmware?
The file uploads fine, but I get an error message saying the router can't be updated atthe moment. I want to do the update because as of now, the router can't see my drive connected on usb (one ntfs partition and another one called wbfs, maybe that one is causing the issue about the drive).
I tried to upgrade the firmware of my RV042 router. I downloaded the file (RV0XX-v4.0.0.07-tm-20100819-code.bin) and check the cheksum. When I try to upload it, I have the message "413 Request Entity Too Large". How can I do ? Should I unzip the .bin file (it's about 30Mo) ?
I tried to upgrade my router firmware to the latest 2.1.39.145204 (downloaded from cisco website) but seems like the upgrade didn't go well. I am unable to open the admin webpage. I can get to the login page on 192.168.1.1, after i enter the admin password the next page doesn't load. It keeps showing 'Waiting' at the center of the page forever.. I have tried to do the 30/30/30 reset to no avail, i tried to do tftp downgrade to older firmware version but the tftp boot doesn't even start. Is there any other way i can either fix the current firmware upgrade or downgrade it to the previous version?
I currently have Model name: Linksys E4200 Firmware version: 1.0.04 build 11 Software version: 1.4.12100.0
I'm trying to upgrade to the second and most up to date version. (Version: 2.0) firmware. Any links or way to do this? I tried doing it through my router settings under administration -> firmware upgrade but it won't update automatically. I have to find the actual update file and update the firmware through that.
I have a WRT110 wireless router which disconnects suddenly and continuously. In addition, its performance is really poor. The current firmware installed is 1.0.03. I found a new firmware for this model (1.0.04.10) but when I try to install it, I choose the .bin file downloaded from Linksys TechSupp website, click on the "Start Upgrade" button, but I always get the following message "Please designate the path to the firmware".
I have been reading posts on this board that state that after upgrading the firmware on a router that you must re-set the router and re-configure your connection. I have just downloaded and installed the latest firmware update for the BEFSX41 (1.52.16.4). When the installation was complete, my network connection dropped out. I then got a "searching for ip address" icon in my notification bar. The connection then completed and my network seems to be running as it should. When I check the set-up screen for the router, it shows the new firmware version. Do I still need to re-set the router? I'm a bit confused by all of this. I have Comcast cable for my isp.
I had issues with my router incorrectly resolving URLs. For example, going to facebook.com would gtive me a "wiki does not exist" message. Pinging facebook.com would give me an IP that belongs to wikipedia. The answer was SUPPOSED to be upgrading to v3.0.03.I upgraded and now my router WILL NOT connect to my DSL modem. Oh, it says it's connected and shows the correct IP address for my DSL modem but the gateway is showing 0.0.0.0. Direct connection to my PC works just fine.I have cycled the power on both the router and the DSL modem several times. The DSL modem is working just fine. I have done several IP release/renew on the router. I have reset the router. To no avail. This firmware update (which completed successfully) seems to have killed my routers ability to communitcate with the internet.
