Cisco Routers :: SRP527W - Firmware Upgrade
Feb 14, 2011I've been having the lockup issue with the SRP527W (in fact this has been an extremely embarrassing situation after spending 4 x what I could have on a Net gear type unit, to do the same task). I've not yet managed to get hold of the new firmware (MR3) as I've not received the email with a link.
On another note, I'm not sure if this has been covered in other posts, but, when my unit stops working (Wireless still alive, no internet) - the CPU hits and stays at 100% and only a reboot fixes it.

Apr 11, 2010We have about 30 SRW224G4P switches throughout our network(each one located at remote site) and we have been having problems with these locking up. Normal symptoms are; I can ping the switch but cannot get to the login promot via telnet, ssh, or web-gui even though the ports are open. And how to plugged into the switch after this happens canont reach my router for DHCP.
I did a firmware upgrade to "SRW224G4P_SRW248G4P_image.bix" on one of the switches at our office and this seemed to fix the problems however after the upgrade was compete the config was blank. Is that suppose to happen or did I miss something? I would like to upgrade the firmware on all my our SRW224G4P switches without having to travel to each remote location and reconfigure each switch after the upgrade.

Now I was thinking to upgrade them to the latest available (12.1.22-EA14), but before I do this task I'd like to know if there's a way to check in advance if those images will run. Also, if I have to buy another router to support IPV6, I'm going to buy a D-Link. It's nothing personal, I just find it absolutely idiotic that a router that supports wireless-N doesn't support IPV6. You have to ask your self, how does the standard IPV6 spec thats a few years old not make it to the final product of a router, but a non-standard wireless-N spec implementation somehow got the O.K....?

Aug 14, 2012Yesterday I tried to install c2960-lanbasek9.mz.12.55.SE4.bin onto my router. When I changed the boot commands, I did not leave the 2nd option in there and the old firmware has an .ex3 extension. After trying to boot to this new image, we receive a looping error message that continues to reboot and go through the same process.Basically the error is "ERROR: firmware not supported by hardware"I have power cycled it a few times but durning bootup, I never see the ################## which would allow me to BREAK sequence and get into rommon. The device simply waits about 30-40 seconds after boot and goes right back to the looping reboot sequence and the error message. Is there any hyper term or putty settings to change on this?

May 9, 2012I have a stack of 4 Cisco Switch 3750 (1 x WS-C3750G-24T, 2 x WS-C3750-48P and 1 x WS-C3750V2-48PS) and I want to do an firmware upgrade of this stack. Actually, all the 4 switches are at the firmware version 12.2(50) SE1 "IPBase" and I want to upgrade them to 12.2(55)SE5 IPBase. According to the release notes, all the switches in my stack are supported.
To upgrade the firmware, I use the command "archive download-sw /imageonly /overwrite tftp://IP_Address/c3750-ipbaselmk9-tar.122-55.SE5.tar" The firmware gets uploaded correctly but then I get the error message "There is insufficient space in flash: to install the required image. Clean up some old images, and try again."
When I do a "show flash", I see that the switch has 5650944 bytes free of 15998976 bytes.
How can i upgrade my switches? Is there an error in my command which I use? Do I need to add an other option?
The problem is, the switches are located in a branch office and there is no direct access to them. Everything must be done remotely.

Mar 5, 2012I have several cabinets with top-of-rack N2K's attached to N5K's via FEX's. 9 cabinets with 2 switches each.
Recently I added 3 more cabinets to the mix, for a total of 12 cabinets with 2 switches each.
I can get into the new switches and see the FEX's and configure ports, etc. but no device I attach to the 'new' N2K's is pingable over the network. I can take the same device, same cable, and attach it to a legacy N2K talking to the same N5K's, and it immediately joins and is pingable over the network

Feb 2, 2012 I have a 3560G switch with c3560-advipservicesk9-mz.122-46.SE and 2 routers. The switch has vlans defined. I want to route all traffic on vlan 25 out of one of the routers exclusively. Here is what I have attempted:
-Set the SDM template to routing & reload
-Define an access-list for the v lan traffic
-Define the route-map
-Apply the route-map to the vlan interface
When I attempt the last step I receive the following syslog error:

Also, the route-map is removed from the vlan interface after this error is thrown. Im 99% confident that PBR is supported on this switch (am I wrong?). Here is the relevant show output:...

Sep 13, 2010We purchased ME 3400 switch and trying to implement it. But its quite surprising in the ME3400 configuration guide that the switch does not support VTP. When I checked in Feature navigator under feature "VTP" i could see ME3400 supports VTP. But when i get into CLI of ME3400, i am not getting any option of configuring VTP. I could see in some sites VMPS is supported in ME3400.
I would like to confirm the following:
1. Does VTP support present in ME3400 or not? If not, what would be the reason that it is not included in ME3400.
2. If not what is the alternative.
Network is already running VTP of around 30 switches.
