We have about 30 SRW224G4P switches throughout our network(each one located at remote site) and we have been having problems with these locking up. Normal symptoms are; I can ping the switch but cannot get to the login promot via telnet, ssh, or web-gui even though the ports are open. And how to plugged into the switch after this happens canont reach my router for DHCP.
I did a firmware upgrade to "SRW224G4P_SRW248G4P_image.bix" on one of the switches at our office and this seemed to fix the problems however after the upgrade was compete the config was blank. Is that suppose to happen or did I miss something? I would like to upgrade the firmware on all my our SRW224G4P switches without having to travel to each remote location and reconfigure each switch after the upgrade.
I have a SRW224G4P managed switch with webview, however I do not know what the IP address is of the unit to attempt to access via webview. I've tried to connect a serial cable to the console port and use HyperTerminal to access the switch, however the switch boots up and I never see anything in hyperterminal! I'm using the recommended port settings for the device. What else can I do to be able to set my IP address? Is there a hard physical reset that I can do on this unit somewhere since I can't seem to get the console mode to work?
Got 2 pcs. of C2950G-24-EI which are both running 12.1(9)EA1. Now I was thinking to upgrade them to the latest available (12.1.22-EA14), but before I do this task I'd like to know if there's a way to check in advance if those images will run. Any way to check about available memory or memory needs?
I would like to upgrade the firmware on my SRW224G4 switch but I don't know which file I should be using. When I go to download firmware I see links for the following
"Cisco SRW224G4 24-port 10/100 + 4-port Gigabit Switch - WebView" Which has firmware 1.2.3.0 "Cisco SRW224G4 24-port 10/100 + 4-port Gigabit Switch - WebView V1.0" Which has firmware 1.2.2a
I'm not sure which firmware I should use, and the last thing I want is to brick this switc.
i am trying to upgrade the firmware in my C2960 switch to 15(1) SE2, and i get the error:Failed to execute the command archive download -sw /overwrite /http iosFile
Yesterday I tried to install c2960-lanbasek9.mz.12.55.SE4.bin onto my router. When I changed the boot commands, I did not leave the 2nd option in there and the old firmware has an .ex3 extension. After trying to boot to this new image, we receive a looping error message that continues to reboot and go through the same process.Basically the error is "ERROR: firmware not supported by hardware"I have power cycled it a few times but durning bootup, I never see the ################## which would allow me to BREAK sequence and get into rommon. The device simply waits about 30-40 seconds after boot and goes right back to the looping reboot sequence and the error message. Is there any hyper term or putty settings to change on this?
I have a stack of 4 Cisco Switch 3750 (1 x WS-C3750G-24T, 2 x WS-C3750-48P and 1 x WS-C3750V2-48PS) and I want to do an firmware upgrade of this stack. Actually, all the 4 switches are at the firmware version 12.2(50) SE1 "IPBase" and I want to upgrade them to 12.2(55)SE5 IPBase. According to the release notes, all the switches in my stack are supported.
To upgrade the firmware, I use the command "archive download-sw /imageonly /overwrite tftp://IP_Address/c3750-ipbaselmk9-tar.122-55.SE5.tar" The firmware gets uploaded correctly but then I get the error message "There is insufficient space in flash: to install the required image. Clean up some old images, and try again."
When I do a "show flash", I see that the switch has 5650944 bytes free of 15998976 bytes.
How can i upgrade my switches? Is there an error in my command which I use? Do I need to add an other option?
The problem is, the switches are located in a branch office and there is no direct access to them. Everything must be done remotely.
I tried to find a suitable firmware for it & found this, Wireless Router, but when I upgrade the device with this firmware , every thing go wrong .. no english language cant upgrade anymore I tried to reset the device to its factory defaults by pressing the reset botumn but the nothing changes
I have a dlink dir 615 router that has started to drop wireless signal continuously (as in once every minute or so). I looked into potential issues and all signs point to firmware upgrading as the solution. I even looked up the latest firmware for my unit and it indicate that it repaired wireless connection issues. But my issue is that I downloaded the latest firmware and it won't let me install it. It keeps saying that it isn't the right file or my router is too busy to complete the upload.
I have a question on 300 series PoE switch (SRW224G4P, power budget: 180W). How many WAP 4410N can be powered by this switch??How many AP 1242 can be powered by this switch? Since CDP is not supported yet, I think switch will provide 15.4W power for each AP. So each switch can power up to 11 WAP4410N or AP 1242. Is this correct??
One other quesiton is When CDP is supported, can I calculate as below? WAP4410N (Power draw:10.1W): 180/10.1W = 17.xx -> Up to 17 WAP4410N can be powerd AP1242 (Power draw:12.4W): 180/12.4W = 14.xx -> Up to 14 WAP4410N can be powerd
The switch functions and operates fine but I can no longer login to the webview(GUI) and when I use a serial cable to console in to it, it shows nothing on the hyperterminal meaning no login. How can I get back into the switch to manage it or reset it back to factory settings? I kept the default IP address and I enabled HTTPS to login by gui, well I got in by HTTPS so I went in to turn that setting off and hit apply and now I can't log into it at all.
I had a strange problem here after upgrading Cisco 3750X.The upgrading was going smoothly, I copied a newer IOS to the flash from another Cisco 3750X through TFTP, changed the boot image. It took a while do to the microcode upgrading, finally, it started to boot up. But when it completes the boot up, I can't see the normal login prompt, but only some strange codes. From what I can see, it seems some decoding problem, as if I plug or unplug a cable from the switch, the strange code pops up again, like in normal situation, the console tells you that the interface is going up and down.
The original image of the switch: c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-53.SE2.bin Upgrade to image: c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-55.SE3.bin
However, I don't have any problem to telnet to this switch, as it has correct IP address and login configured before the upgrading. I have reboot the switch for couple of times, reconnect to the serial port still doesn't show me anything.I am wonering has any one has met this situation before? detailed message shown after the boot up. cisco WS-C3750X-48 (PowerPC405) processor (revision A0) with 262144K bytes of memory.

I bought a secondhand small business router (model 1941 Integrated Services Router) for personal use. It runs version IOS 15.0(1)M1 software, which seems to work well, but I'd like to download a firmware update that addresess some of the security flaws in this software. When I tried the download process it told me I need to buy a service contract first? Is this right, or am I doing something wrong?
I currently have 3 WAP4410n's (actually, they're WAP4410N-E V02s) that have been really unreliable since I got them - so much so that we've had to cron a restart script on another server which is frankly ridiculous - they've always run firmware version 2.0.2.1.
I've tried updating the firmware to new versions in the past with no success - when I do so, it looks like everything's fine, but when I log back in, the fixed IP address information isn't shown, and the wireless is disabled. I can enable it, but I can't select a channel.
At this point, I have to revert back to the old firmware. I've tried restoring to factory setttings before and after the firmware flash, but this hasn't changed anything.
However, recently I was able to flash firmware 2.0.5.3 onto only one of the routers - it worked fine and all information was displayed and wireless enabled correctly. However on the other two, no matter what I try, the firmware won't upgrade succesfully - it looks like everything's fine, but the fixed IP information isn't shown and wireless/channels are disabled.
I have a Dir-655 A3 with the firmware 1.32NA. I cannot get the new firmware 1.35NA to take. The router seems to go through the motions of the upgrade, but at the end, when I log back on, the firmware still says 1.32NA & all custom settings remain.I have upgraded the firmware on this router before and I know that when its upgraded, the router is basically reset to factory settings. All the settings have been backed up and I am attempting this upgrade via a wired connection.
I have a DIR-655 Rev A4.I followed this forum in the past when there were many problems with firmware upgrades beyon 1.21. Because of this I never upgraded and was told to be satisfied that I can still stay with 1.21 as upgrades caused problems for a number of people.Everything still seems fine with 1.21 except the Shareport utility often does not pickup the printer connection upon booting to Windows Vista. I can always work around this by Disable and then Enable. It will then always find the printer. It is a minor annoyance however.Should I still stay with 1.21 or is upgrading to 1.35 NA recommended ? If I upgrade to 1.35 NA is there a downgrade path back to 1.21 if the upgrade does not work well ?
Can I use firmware for switch Cisco SF300-08 on switch Linksys SRW208? I need to connect IP Phones and propagate voice vlan over CDP or LLDP, that's why I would like to use firmware "Sx300_FW-1.1.1.8.ros".
I've recently tried to update the modem firmware on an 887M that is actually using an Annex M service and after rebooting to kick in the new modem firmware, the router loses sync. I've tried this with various other 877, 877M, 887 and 887Ms on normal Annex A services with no problems, but this Annex M service doesn't like it at all.
It baffles me because the admin console doesn't look like it will browse your computer for a firmware update. Rather, it prefers you to specify a tftp or http server. I don't know how I'd set up my computer to be the http or tftp server and it doesn't really go into detail on what configurations or commands that would need to be used. I've used a tftp client in the past to send a firmware to routers and whatnot but not serve one.
I have firmware version 2.0.2.7. I've down loaded the firmware upgrade utility ver 1.3, and do not see a read me or help file. I've disconnected the cables as directed, but recive a 'broadcast error' and a 'browse device error'
I have three locations using the linksys wrvs4400n router with IPSec VPNS. They all work fine and point back to a Server2003. I just added a fourth location with the same router but this new router has firmware v2.x, where the others have firmware v1.x. When I connected the new router into the VPN network, it caused the other tunnels to go down. When I take the new router with firmware v2.x offline, everything else seems to work fine.
Can the v2.x firmware cause the other VPNS on v1.x firmware to go down and not work properly? Do I need to upgrade the firmware so all 4 linksys wrvs4400n routers are operating the same version number so not to cause the tunnels to disconnect?
I am trying to upgrade my RV016 hardware version 1, Firmware version 1.3.2 to firmware version 2.0.0. but can't find the file. Locating RV016_2.0.0? I am trying to upgrade to version 3.0.0.1
We have 2 ASA 5520s in active/standy. We run IOS 8.2(5)24 and I wondered if I need to upgrade as I see the versions have gone to 8.4 and beyond! We are not getting any issues and I'm aware of the difficult migration from 8.2 to 8.4 etc due to the NAT change.
I´ve a problem with my "old" PIX515e device. I wanted to flash this device to a new firmware level but forgot to disable the "lost enable" password before. So I started to make the firmware upgrade on my device, ended up with "flashfs" is busy and I should start the enabled modus and "copy flash tftp" to activate the new flash version. Unfortunalty I cannot do this because I´ve lost my password. When I´m trying to boot this device up now, it will end with a error message...
Unable to locate boot image configuration Booting first image in flash No bootable image in flash. Please download an image from a network server in the monitor mode Failed to find an image to boot
As mentioned, when I will load a new flash image over monitor mode, i cannot activate that image because of flashfs is busy. The password reset bin files will not work too. I tried that too but this one will recongnize no active installed flash. Is there any way to reanimate my PIX515e? In newer devices there are possibilites to work with changing config register but I´ve found nothing about that for a PIX515e.
I cannot find instructions on how to use the latest 4.0.18 ADSL firmware on an 887 router.
I've downloaded adsl_alc_20190_4.0.018.bin from the website and copied it to flash, but cannot find any instructions on applying the firmware. Tried rebooting but made no difference.
What commands, etc, am I meant to use to make use of this ADSL firmware release ?
We have Sg-300-28 serious switches(SRW-2024 k9-EU) and i want to upgrade switch with latest firmware, any info for latest firmware is used for the same ?
