Cisco Switching/Routing :: SRW224G4P - IP Address To Attempt Access Via Webview

Feb 5, 2013

I have a SRW224G4P managed switch with webview, however I do not know what the IP address is of the unit to attempt to access via webview.  I've tried to connect a serial cable to the console port and use HyperTerminal to access the switch, however the switch boots up and I never see anything in hyperterminal!  I'm using the recommended port settings for the device.  What else can I do to be able to set my IP address?  Is there a hard physical reset that I can do on this unit somewhere since I can't seem to get the console mode to work?

Cisco Switches :: SRW224G4P WebView And POE / Can't Login To Gui Or Console

Jun 8, 2011

The switch functions and operates fine but I can no longer login to the webview(GUI) and when I use a serial cable to console in to it, it shows nothing on the hyperterminal meaning no login. How can I get back into the switch to manage it or reset it back to factory settings? I kept the default IP address and I enabled HTTPS to login by gui, well I got in by HTTPS so I went in to turn that setting off and hit apply and now I can't log into it at all.

Cisco Switching/Routing :: SRW224G4P Firmware Upgrade

Apr 11, 2010

We have about 30 SRW224G4P switches throughout our network(each one located at remote site) and we have been having problems with these locking up.  Normal symptoms are; I can ping the switch but cannot get to the login promot via telnet, ssh, or web-gui even though the ports are open.  And how to plugged into the switch after this happens canont reach my router for DHCP.

I did a firmware upgrade to "SRW224G4P_SRW248G4P_image.bix" on one of the switches at our office and this seemed to fix the problems however after the upgrade was compete the config was blank.  Is that suppose to happen or did I miss something?  I would like to upgrade the firmware on all my our SRW224G4P switches without having to travel to each remote location and reconfigure each switch after the upgrade.

Monitor URL Access Attempt Website Filter?

Jan 10, 2012

i need to block internet on all computers in our clinic except few websites (URL) that we need. I'm doing this on the router in WEBSITE filter in the manner of DISABLE ALL, except...

Specifically i have issues with using FAX client. ringcentral.com is ENABLED on the router, so anything within this DOMAIN will work (as forum.ringcentral.com etc.)

BUT when i attempt to send a fax, it falls into a black hole. although the client application shows - being sent, it wont go to SENT items and it just disappears. When i disable the website filter on router, it works.

there must be a different URL that the ring central call controlled tries to connect when sending. Receiving works no problem even with the website filter on. How do i detect / intercept what ULR / IP address is truing to be reached so i can enable it on the website filter ?

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 1841 - Access To Web Server On Outside Address From LAN

Jan 22, 2012

I have a 1841 deployed as my NAT device towards internet. NAT is setup so that internal addresses can access WWW. I also have some NAT translations opening speciic ports from outside to inside in the form: ip nat inside source static tcp A.B.C.D 443 A.B.C.D 443 extendable.

Now have an outside address/port setup with a public DNS reference and using NAT from outside to get access to the corresponding inside address. It works when being outside the LAN.

Now to the problem: From the LAN side of the router - i cannot access the public name. I can ping it - but my browser dont find the webserver behind the name. Someone told me it should be setup as "local firewall domain" - and i should set this up as "source NAT".

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 3750 / Access A Target Server With IP Address 10.2.2.13?

Oct 16, 2012

Today when we run one applcation to access a target server with IP address 10.2.2.13, the application cannot run through and appearing error message related networking.The target server has two network ports whereby another one with IP 10.2.2.14 is running OK with the same application. All these two connections are connected to the same Cisco switch 3750, after the switch then go to Cisco ASA firewall which has no access control rule for this 10.2.2.13 and its subnet, and then the firewall connect directly to the application server.We can ping, remote desktop access and telent port for the application to the target server by using 10.2.2.13.We swapped the cable connection of the ports from one another and try the application again, the IP with 10.2.2.13 is still fail and IP with 10.2.2.14 is OK.We then change the IP from 10.2.2.13 to 10.2.2.12 or 10.2.2.155, all are OK. We changed back to 10.2.2.13, it is failed again.The switch is in running real time production and so we cannot power cycle or reload the switch.

Cisco Switches :: How Many AP Can Be Powered By SRW224G4P

Jun 7, 2011

I have a question on 300 series PoE switch (SRW224G4P, power budget: 180W). How many WAP 4410N can be powered by this switch??How many AP 1242 can be powered by this switch? Since CDP is not supported yet, I think switch will provide 15.4W power for each AP. So each switch can power up to 11 WAP4410N or AP 1242. Is this correct??

One other quesiton is When CDP is supported, can I calculate as below? WAP4410N (Power draw:10.1W): 180/10.1W = 17.xx -> Up to 17 WAP4410N can be powerd AP1242 (Power draw:12.4W): 180/12.4W = 14.xx -> Up to 14 WAP4410N can be powerd

Cisco VPN :: ASA 8.2(5) / AnyConnect Fails At First Attempt (certificate Authentication)

Jan 25, 2012

I'm trying to set up vpn with ASA 8.2(5) and Anyconnect 3.0.4235. The goal is  to force user to connect from registered machines only (winXP & win7 x32 and  x64). To do this, I used machine certificates issued by own CA. Certificate  is installed in machine store. I use double authentication (aaa & certificates). Everything works fine, AnyConnect browses cert store, ASA  validating machine certificate, then user is prompted for username/password  and finally if all is correct - connection is established.My problem is, that for new installation (new host), AnyConnect fails at first connection attempt. If I use aaa authentication only, connection is established, but if I use aaa & certificates - connection fails. The  appropriate .xml profile is predeployed at client host asa well as machine and root certificates.Important: When first try (aaa auth) succeded, others are always OK (with aaa. certificate or aaa & certificate authentication). Only the first one fails.The goal is to succesfuly establish connection with aaa & cert.

With DART i get:
******************************************
Type        : Error
Source      : acvpnagent
Description : Function: CTransportWinHttp::WinHttpCallback
File: .CTransportWinHttp.cpp
Line: 2150

[code]....

Certificate is valid for sure, and as I mentioned before, if first use aaa only, the second try is OK. At ASA with debug crypto ca 255 can't see any certificate from client.

Everything looked fine.I went online that night however and as soon as I went to my online banking website, I noticed that there was an outgoing attempt logged in my firewall (ZoneAlarm). It was blocked. The IP address is 72.167.239.239:80 - which apparently fits in GoDaddy's IP range. Googled it and saw that someone else had the same issue.

Im comfortable adding lines to the router but just don't know what the lines should be.

The new IP's purchased are 116.199.222.200/30 (Only need to use one address, lets say 116.199.222.200). No idea what the subnet mask should be...

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 880 (887) - Router Not Assigning IP Address

Jan 22, 2012

I'm fairly new to Cisco configuration and I am looking at a problem for a client that involves the use of a Cisco 887 (wired only) as the main router/gateway. The problem I am investigating involves the allocatoni of DHCP addresses from the device to a product we have designed that connects to the router. I am attempting to set the 880 up on the bench with no ADSL connection and just use the DHCP feature of the box for the 4 switch ports on the back. I have tried all kinds of configurations from default.  Whatever I do I can't get the router to assign an IP address to anything that is plugged in (Windows or Linux machines).  What could I be doing wrong ?  It can't be that difficult to get the system to just act as a DHCP server.

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 2960S MAC Address Control

Feb 20, 2013

I would like to enable port security to hardcode the MAC address on the ethernet switch. There are 5 ethernet ports in the same ethernet switch to be assigned for one person (one note book), e.g. port 5, 6, 15, 16 and 23. The model of ethernet switch is cisco 2960S and one MAC address is configured on 2960S.

1. Does 2960S support this requirement to allow input the same MAC address to 5 different port?

2. If yes, can ethernet switch "smart" enough to forward the packages to "active" ethernet port which is connected to notebook and the rest of four ports are inactive.

3. if no, any solution or any work around to achieve this requirement

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 6500 - Same MAC Address In Different VLAN?

Oct 31, 2012

The customer has 4 6500 switches.  2 Physical locations, and 2 switches at each locations.  The locations are connected via 1 200mpbs metro ethernet(layer 2).  We ran into an issue during a DR exercise.  We had created a VLAN for DR testing purposes, that did not have any SVI configured, but the VLAN did exist on one of the 6500s.  When the customer restored a VM to the DR VLAN, we lost connectivity to the production server.  After some troubleshooting, we found the cause to be the same mac address showing up, but in a different vlan.  Once we removed the DR vlan from the 6500 all was well.  It seems like switches are ignoring the VLAN in the mac address table, and forwarding to the incorrect ports.  The switch is not reporting any mac flapping in the logs.  No spanning tree topology changes are occurring.  Code version is 12.2(33)SXJ2 on all switches.

Cisco Switching/Routing :: Can't Reconnect To 881 After Changing IP Address

I have a new 881 router and am simply trying to change the ip address from the default 10.10.10.1 to 192.168.15.1

I tried doing this both in the CCP Express app loaded on the router, and also using the desktop CCP client.  I can change other parameters without any problems, but when I change the ip address of the vlan the program hangs (as expected since the ip address should be changing).  I then try to open it back up and reconnect but get no response from the router.

I can ping it no problem, and the http server is running according to the serial terminal.
