I'm trying to upgrade a switch SRW224G4 but without success. Model Name SRW224G4 Hardware Version 00.03.00Boot Version 1.0.0.06
I send the file via the XModem( SRW2xxG4_FW_1.2.3.0 ).
I would like to upgrade the firmware on my SRW224G4 switch but I don't know which file I should be using. When I go to download firmware I see links for the following
"Cisco SRW224G4 24-port 10/100 + 4-port Gigabit Switch - WebView"
Which has firmware 1.2.3.0
"Cisco SRW224G4 24-port 10/100 + 4-port Gigabit Switch - WebView V1.0"
Which has firmware 1.2.2a
I'm not sure which firmware I should use, and the last thing I want is to brick this switc.

I attempted a firmware upgrade on my RV042. After an hour, the upgrade was still in progress. I now cannot login into the router using my user name and password (nor the old admin/admin). The router is functioning, but I fear it will eventually fail. How can I recover ability to log in? The Firmward Recovery program doesn't seem to be appropriate for this situation.

I cant seem to find what ip address its pulling to be able to log into the web interface. I have tried the blue cable , and using hypertermail but with no luck .. I dont have com 1 or 2 as an option on my latop just com 3. how I can log into this switch and rest it back to factory specs so then I can go though and setup how i want.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have just attempted to load the latest firmware on an SLM2008, everything appeared to work as expected BUT, the switch is no longer pingable on its static IP doesn't appear to have attempted get an address via DHCP. I have attempted power cycling the switch but it has made no difference. The switch is still switching but I have no management any more. What to do next ?

When I get the same switch and the same router and take out the vLan on the switch, everybody get an IP. What's the deal with this switch and vLans and Mac OS x ? Do I have to setup something else ?
I've been having a problem with a brand new SG300-10 switch that I posted about yesterday. I checked the firmware and it was at 1.0.0.27 and the lastest is 1.1.0.73. So I backed up the current firmware and loaded the 1.1.0.73 version and it seem to be CLI based only, with no web GUI.
If so is there an easy way to reload the 1.0.0.27 using the CLI? There is nothing in the CLI docs that I can see unless it's buried.
The release notes for 1.1.0.73 don't say it's CLI only either, maybe something just went wrong but the CLI seems to be functional.
After performing a firmware upgrade on an SG300-20 switch from ver 1.1.0.73 to 1.2.5.70 the switch now boots up with the following error and resets:

What i have: An SGE 2010 48 port switch, firmware 3.0.0.17 Firmware upgrade: In order to ensure im not having problems due to old firmware, i tried to upgrade using ros_ls1_bp_ge_bx-3020.ros in order to move to 3.0.2, when uploading the file via TFTP, the upload completes and thats it, nothing happens.Restarting the device: As part of the upgrade process, i thought i might of had to reboot, so i rebooted, and found that all my settings were wiped clean, as if a factory reset had been performed.... and add further to pain, the backup of settings that i had taken do not seem to want to re-apply.NAP support: So i have tested my NPS (radius) server with NTRadping.exe and all is good, however i cannot get the SGE2010 to talk to it.... the authenticator state in the web interface is always listed as initialising.... im not sure if this is a simple incompatibility (hence the attempt at a firmware upgrade), a tag that needs to be set on the radius side or a switch misconfig.
1) how on earth do you upgrade the firmware?
2) why are none of my settings being saved when the device reboots ?
with TFTP upgrade SRW2xxG4_FW_1.2.3.0.ros and WEB interface after the restart, the switch will not start, display HyperTerminal link. You can also restore the switches do not?

Any endpoint connected to the switch is assigned an IP address in the range of 169.254.154.XXX regardless of the switches set IP range, the second issue is that I cannot access the web view management interface through the default IP address 192.168.1.254 (and I have tried to use the last IP in the range set by the router 169.254.154.254, to no avail)
How to regaining control of this supposedly smart switch?

I am unable to open the admin webpage. I can get to the login page on 192.168.1.1, after i enter the admin password the next page doesn't load. It keeps showing 'Waiting' at the center of the page forever.. I have tried to do the 30/30/30 reset to no avail, i tried to do tftp downgrade to older firmware version but the tftp boot doesn't even start. I have just downloaded and installed the latest firmware update for the BEFSX41 (1.52.16.4). When the installation was complete, my network connection dropped out. I then got a "searching for ip address" icon in my notification bar. The connection then completed and my network seems to be running as it should. When I check the set-up screen for the router, it shows the new firmware version. Do I still need to re-set the router? I'm a bit confused by all of this. I have Comcast cable for my isp.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had issues with my router incorrectly resolving URLs. For example, going to facebook.com would gtive me a "wiki does not exist" message. Pinging facebook.com would give me an IP that belongs to wikipedia. The answer was SUPPOSED to be upgrading to v3.0.03.I upgraded and now my router WILL NOT connect to my DSL modem. Oh, it says it's connected and shows the correct IP address for my DSL modem but the gateway is showing 0.0.0.0. Direct connection to my PC works just fine.I have cycled the power on both the router and the DSL modem several times. The DSL modem is working just fine. I have done several IP release/renew on the router. I have reset the router. To no avail. This firmware update (which completed successfully) seems to have killed my routers ability to communitcate with the internet.
