We have small network with 15 Computers all connected to SRW224G4 . After a power brake our switch dosent "boot" anymore. I see all leds working flashing etc but no network acces, no Serial acces. When i try connecting to serial port and "reset" device the screen is blank.
View 1 RepliesWhen I came back home today I saw that my SG200-08 switch did not look fine.Basically, the system LED of the switch keeps blinking and end devices connected just don't have any network.I tried to reset the switch with the "reset" button (with a paper clip) the system LED was orange during just a second and then continue to blink.What is wrong with the switch?Is there a way to flash a new firmware and/or to delete the configuration file?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a customer who is concerned with the power draw on the new switches we're deploying.They only have 20 amp breakers in their closets and fear popping them on switch boot. The customer is under the impression that a switch will pull full power on boot. So a 3560X with an 1100w PSU will draw the full 1100w on startup. Ive never heard this and it doest make much sense to me, but I need to verify.

We got 4 WAP that we will connect to the switch module that needs power. So the switch module with POE doesn't give any power out.

I have upgraded my C3560-PS-S switch to the latest IOS version 12(2)55-SE4 and it is not providing PoE anymore? It used to work before this upgrade? I searched Cisco bugtrack and there is bug defined for this IOS/Switch.

I was given a linksys SRW224G4 switch .. It seems to work fine on some ports and others dont,I am tring to log into it to see what the current config is . I cant seem to find what ip address its pulling to be able to log into the web interface. I have tried the blue cable , and using hypertermail but with no luck .. I dont have com 1 or 2 as an option on my latop just com 3. how I can log into this switch and rest it back to factory specs so then I can go though and setup how i want.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter some wireshark, I see that when I have a vLan on the switch, only win7 gets IP, my macbook doesn't, sniffing to the bootp, I see that the DHCP sends NAK and after I only have DISCOVER & OFFER...
When I get the same switch and the same router and take out the vLan on the switch, everybody get an IP. What's the deal with this switch and vLans and Mac OS x ? Do I have to setup something else ?

I am the Systems Admin at LDM Media and am trying to get some support for one of the SRW224G4 managed switches we have in our rack. The issue is as follows:
Any endpoint connected to the switch is assigned an IP address in the range of 169.254.154.XXX regardless of the switches set IP range, the second issue is that I cannot access the web view management interface through the default IP address 192.168.1.254 (and I have tried to use the last IP in the range set by the router 169.254.154.254, to no avail)
How to regaining control of this supposedly smart switch?
We have 2 of the SG200-26 switchs. When ever we loss power all the settings are reset to default. Even if we loss power for 1 min. This includes the IP, user, password, etc. How can I change this so the settings are saved?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have a VPN setup for a customer between our shop and their shop 2.5 hours away. This is a Cisco 871.We had Verizon and the connection worked (still does) great! We had to switch providers as they sold to Frontier and were going to change our IPs anyways so why not switch to a faster provider instead.We switched to Charter. I have ZERO, NADA, ZILTCH knowledge of Cisco and I plan to keep it that was as they are way more complicated then they should be. Ill stay with my Sonicwall.....Anyways.... I took the config and did a find and replace for all the IP's, Gateways, DNS etc....I blasted that into the router and it took right off and connected up the VPN in a matter of 2 minutes. I was estatic as I knew I was going to sleep good that night not worrying about it..............Untill the next day at 11 am when I get a phone call from work saying the connection was down.
I go and realize that the router cant see the outside world anymore, therefor was obviously not going to see the peer IP address. I was dumbfounded!. To make a long story short I tried reconfiging therouter with the same file. I even redid the find and replace and resaved it to no avail. Still no go, no internet. All the proper IPs, Gateways and DNS numbers are where they should be. To test that its the config and/or something to far above me. I re configed the router with the old config and hooked it back up to verizon, it took right off and reestablished the VPN and was working.
I have a W7 PC 64 bit system and I've been trying to port forward the port 25565 for my Minecraft server. However for some reason (even after port forwarding the right one) people still can't connect. When I check on Open Port Check Tool - Test Port Forwarding on Your Router It still says that the port 25565 is closed!I've even created an Inbound and Outbound rule in the Windows Firewall advanced settings. View 19 Replies View RelatedI have a 3845 running 12.4.13a which I want to upgrade to 12.4.24.After upgrade one of the interface that is configured for frame relay doesn't work anymore.In fact is the "service-module t1 timeslots" commands that can not be executed and the router throws that error.I tested this behaviour on two 3845s and the result is the same.Is this a bug or is an workaround for it?

I have internet access by directly wiring from the modem to my computer.My router doesn't work anymore. I have a local network, but no internet access. I'm using a Linksys WRT54G, and I don't really know what to do.As far as I remember, setting everything to defaults and factory settings was how I set up my router in the first place and it just worked.

I have a laptop that I want to sell, therefore I went to somebody to see my laptop and wanted to connect to his wifi. After repeatedly entering the pass for the wifi ,the wifi was still not connecting.
1. My laptop will see his wifi but after entering the pass will not connect
2. The pass is correct because I introduced the same pass on my mobile and I was able to connect to his wifi through my mobile
3 My laptop wifi is working fine because when I went home it connects automatically on my home wifi
4. I tried to open and close his router but I faced same problem.
I have several ports opened on my DIR-655 A3, pointing to specific ports on a NAS server i have on my network.
I've already try this:
- Reboot the router
- Erase all Virtual Server Settings and try open only one port
- Re-flash the router with latest European firmware - 1.34b05EU
I've just bought this wireless usb today and attempted 2-3 times to be able to connect with my router (D-Link's DIR-601) but it for some reason failed to do so, until the little usb didn't have its green light flashing anymore... and when i reconnected it to my Windows XP it rang its error sound... and I kept having this message from the Wireless Wizard that it's not connected appropriately or something...and that i have to run the setup wizard again.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a linksys E3200. Today I got disconnected and when it reconnected it stated that the network was changed to just network and not my usual network name. I was having connection issues with the network disconnecting me and reconnecting me. I uninstalled the cisco connect software. I contacted support who told me to restart the router and modem, which I did. After reset I tried to reinstall the software. Cisco Connect likes to insist to do the installation wirelessly but my laptop can't find the router during installation to complete it. My router is essentially a glorified wire connecting my computer to my modem now.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a Linksys WAG160N v2 model to replace my old setup of a Linksys WRT54GL + ASUS AM604g (ADSL2+ Modem) i had.I've set it up to dial my ISP's PPPoE connection as i had on the previous setup exactly, And it seemed to work at first.But now i've randomly noticed the connection just dies - the router doesn't respond to wireless at all anymore, and connecting from a wired machine shows the PPPoE link died, while the log says something along the lines of "PPPoE connection terminated: transport endpoint not connected" followed by a big number with lots of zeros and :'s. Probably some kind of IPv6 error address? note that i am not using IPv6 myself nor does my ISP provide any such addresses.
I've already upgraded the firmware to latest and installed the newest WiFi drivers on the machine i was connecting from wirelessly (has an Intel Wifi Link AGN5300 module).
I'm having an issue, with an WS-SVC-FWM-1-K9.
The card doesn't boot properly, it tries to boot, but after a while the 6500 puts it in shutdown.
I've noticed that it has 2 RJ45 ports in the board, I've plugged my console cable, but i only get characters with the default serial configuration.
Any information about the port configurations? Is the port "PC Console" the correct one?

Fans seem to be operating normally. Console access doesn't appear to be working.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have installed an Aironet 1130AG and utilized a power injector for the power source. I have the settings configured correctly in IOS, but the AP takes about 7 minutes to come on (illuminate LED status lights) once the Ethernet cable is connected. Is this 7 minute power-on delay normal when using POE? I am used to the instanteous "on" that usually comes with Cisco products being connected directly to the AC adapter.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI wanted to upgrade our three WLC 4402 from software version 5.0.148 to 6.0.202.0. The upgrade on the first controller was working. Unfortunately he lost all the local management users and it's MAC filters, but restoring this was not the problem. After upgrading the second controller.... the device does not boot anymore! The alarm led is RED and I don't know what to do. The only way to get connected to the controller is via the console port. There I can see a "parse error" but I don't know if that is the problem. Please look at the "log" attached. I'm not sure if the red alarm led was there before upgrading the controller software because the device is located to another place. I'm really concerned about upgrading the third controller because it's the most important wlc.
View 3 Replies View RelatedLast night we had some pretty bad lightning and thunder and our Linksys WAG160N appears to have had a bit of a fright.As I was going round unplugging items in case of a hit (this was after a flash or two, relatively nearby), all the lights on the router were off except for the ethernet light (plugged into a Linksys homeplug adaptor). Now the router doesn't appear to boot. When powered on, the power light doesn't flash or anything to indicate booting up, all you get is the ethernet light (if connected) after a few seconds, but no activity. I'm presuming something has been fried or corrupted? I'm not sure if we did have a power spike either through the mains or phone line as all other equipment seems to be fine, but I'm wondering the the homeplug connection might of had something to do with it after reading a few posts from others on the subject.I've held in the reset button while starting and it doesn't appear to have done anything. I will try the 30/30/30 reset tonight.

It starts to decompress and install the IOS 2 Times, after the Second try it displays "unable to boot" and the switch goes in Bootloader-mode. When i look at the version i See that bootloader is still the old version 12.2.58. It seems that the bootloader doesn't geht upgraded and that's why the Switch can't Boot the new Image.
