I have a sge 2000 24 port POE switch that won't boot, won't communicate on console or TCP/IP, and all of the port lights are lit up green. Holding down the reset button doesn't fix the issue and there aren't any lights illuminated on the left hand side of the switch.
I am trying to remove my BT Homehub2 and replace it with a router connected to the ADSL line using RJ11 to RJ45 cable in f0/0 configured ip address 86.177.164.200.F0/1 is configured to 192.168.1.254 (current BT Homehub IP) this is connected to my 48port cisco switch in port GI1/0/48.VLAN1 set to DHCP and my host is connected to GI1/0/2 and also configured to DHCP.Ignoring the WAP for now, what am I doing wrong? I know it will be a small IP issue somewhere, do I need to configure GI1/0/48 and GI1/0/2 with IP address'? Am I using the wrong ISP address on my routers F0/0 port?
Lately I've noticed some strange behavior on some of the switch ports. When I go through the logs my SGE2000/2010 stack, I see that some of the ports randomly lose their connection:
I'm having trouble locating the source of the problem. The devices connected to the port are servers and desktops. This happens frequently throughout the day, but not always on the same ports. What could cause the random drops?
I recently installed a Dell 5324 switch as my main switch and it's my first time using a managed switch at home. One thing I've seen as an issue in a corporate environment, and now here, is that managed switches tend to take a bit longer for a port to be active. Ex: a PC is turned off, I turn it on but if the PC boots up very fast the port may not be ready. All mounts fail. This is the issue I am facing with my HTPC. It runs Linux and has a SSD, and it has no UEFI bios to slow it down (which is good, I hate UEFI for that) so it's up and running within 5-10 seconds of pushing the power button. The network mappings fail because the port is not ready by the time it gets to the script that mounts everything.
We have small network with 15 Computers all connected to SRW224G4 . After a power brake our switch dosent "boot" anymore. I see all leds working flashing etc but no network acces, no Serial acces. When i try connecting to serial port and "reset" device the screen is blank.
we have a new SGE-2000 switch. At the moment, we are not able to start the configuration, because the default IP is not wirking. We have reset the switch, but it still doesn`t work. We can`t also see the switch in the IP list in our network.
We just purchased 8 managed switches POE to swap out our existing in preparation for our new phone system. We installed them all after configuring with static IP. Deployed... and all but two work fine. Any tips for troubleshooting why two of them do not work? There are a couple other switches in the building. Could it be that a switch "upstream" from the two non-functioning switches is causing an issue? If so, how do I find out? When we put back the two "dumb" switches all was fine.
I have an ESW 520 8-Port switch with a management ip address of 192.168.10.2 /24 After I reboot it, I can successfully ping it from a pc with an ip of 192.168.10.123 for about 50 consecutive times.After that, I get a "Destination host unreachable" (this icmp message is sent by my pinging pc (192.168.10.123).This obviously seems like a bug.Whenever I reboot it, it goes through the same sequence.
I have defined several V LAN's and the corresponding IP Addresses on the SGE2000. The static routing works fine. On one V LAN there is a Windows 2003 DHCP Server which I have defined as DHCP Relay Server (Option 82), but no packets are relayed. Has anyone a functional setup, with dhcp relay?
I have sample lab dhcp-client ------- (vlan62) sg-300 switch (vlan62) ------ dhcp server
When I set on switch :
dhcp relay : enable option 82 : enable dhcp server address: ip of dhcp
When debug packets from client to server, there is no 82 option in dhcp discover packets. I mirror all traffic to mirror port with wireshark. I can see dhcp packets but without option 82.
I want to configure my SRW248G4 switch thru console port. Unfortunately in this switch there is no RJ45 console port input, I can only see cosole port that is look like RS232 input. I bought two standard cisco console cables that have one end with db9 and one with RJ45.
Now I have and idea to put one end of one cable (db9) to switch, and one end (db9) of second cable in my computer (COM input/output)

There is many pictures in Internet, for many Cisco devices but this isn't working. Maybe in LINKSYS pinout look different ?
We have recently purchased SG 300-52Port Cisco Switch to support our Network but they constantly having some bizarre issues or I assume bugs, i.e. we cannot Telnet nor SSH to the switch now, whereas we were able to SSH before, we have set them up for Remote Log Services to get some syslogs and reports but no report have been generated nor logs,

I have a Modem/Router combo and am trying to plug an 8 port switch directly into it and then have wireless AP's and other hardwired devices plugged into the switch. Normally, when I plug a switch into a router it requires no set up. This one on the other hand, will not work.
ISP Cable in Smart box. 4 cat 5 cables from various rooms in house to feed cable ready TV's and one from my computer room. I have a big doubt. Can I connect a LAN switch (i.e. 2960, 3560 or 3750) to a couple of Nexus 2000 FEX (i.e 2232P or 2248TP) and have a Port-Channel or vPC with STP active and several VLANs through this Port-Channel? Or Can I only connect servers to these N2K FEX?

I am trying get inter vlan routing to work on a DF 300 - 24 port switch. I have an existing company network on 192.168.111.0 and want to create a vlan on 192.168.1.1 that can talk to 192.168.111.0. I have enabled layer 3 routing on the switch via console and also provided the ip routing command. I have the following VLAN's:
VLAN1 - Default 192.168.111.0 VLAN2 - 192.168.1.0
I have enabled DNS and provided my two DNS servers 192.168.111.82 & 192.168.111.212. I have set the VLAN1 interface to 192.168.111.217 and VLAN2 interface to 192.168.1.1.
Ports FE1 - FE15 are set to access ports and assigned to VLAN1 (untagged) Ports FE16 - FE24 are set to access ports and assigned to VLAN2 (untagged)
I have set a default route for the switch to 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.111.254 (Draytek 2600 router). I have connected a computer (A) to VLAN1 port FE3 and a computer (B) to VLAN2 port FE16. I have set Computer A default gateway to 192.168.111.217 and its IP address to 192.168.111.94. I have set Computer B default gateway to 192.168.1.1 and IP to 192.168.1.2.
Computer A has access to Mdaemon, file server via network drives but no internet (cannot ping google) and can ping computer B and RDP onto computer B.
Computer B can ping computer A and RDP onto computer A but does not have access to the company network i.e MDaemon, file server etc. It also cannot access the internet.
From the console I can ping [URL]and all ip addresses in the company network i.e. 192.168.111.82 (DNS server). If I scan computer A wirh wireshark the internet starts working weird!

I have several SGE2000 in production and every night I save the current configuration to a tftf server... from time to time I get the following error: [code] Can't open TFTP client.At this time, the only way to be able to save the config again is rebooting the switch, but this is not a solution I am comfort.
I volunteer at a school who just purchased two 48 port SGE2010 managed switches. I am not a big fan of the web gui and was hoping to see the standard Cisco command prompt instead of the menu-type interface.
Is there a way to view the MAC table showing which MAC address is plugged into which port on the switch? I have been fighting with the menu and the gui for a while now and do not see this anywhere.
When I came back home today I saw that my SG200-08 switch did not look fine.Basically, the system LED of the switch keeps blinking and end devices connected just don't have any network.I tried to reset the switch with the "reset" button (with a paper clip) the system LED was orange during just a second and then continue to blink.What is wrong with the switch?Is there a way to flash a new firmware and/or to delete the configuration file?
I have a customer who is concerned with the power draw on the new switches we're deploying.They only have 20 amp breakers in their closets and fear popping them on switch boot. The customer is under the impression that a switch will pull full power on boot. So a 3560X with an 1100w PSU will draw the full 1100w on startup. Ive never heard this and it doest make much sense to me, but I need to verify.
I have a SG200-50P. It had a problem with the PoE ports (didn't supply power to my Bosch POE security cameras) so I updated it to the latest firmware. Now it does recognize the cemeras and supplies power to them. However, there are a few problems:
1. The boot time is extremely long, maybe 15-20 minutes for it to become ready. I've tried to reset to factory default settings, push the reset button for 30+ seconds, and disconnect all the ports. The boot time was always very long.
2. Even thought it supplies power to the cameras, the PoE lights on the ports are not lit.
3. The log is filled with this error, posted every second.
