View 2 RepliesI just installed DD-WRT, version DD-WRT v24-sp2 (03/18/12) std, in a Netgear router model # WNR-2000V3 and so far everything is running good except for the LAN ports which are not working. I don't know what settings I have to change to get it working and I tried a lot of options from the DD-WRT site. I want this router to be an access point but it seems like I can't use the LAN ports at all whatsoever. Could it be that this firmware is no good? If so, is there a way to revert back to the factory NetGear firmware?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to use a Netgear WNR2000 router as a repeater, I have a Netgear WGR614v9 as the main router in my house. I have followed online guides as closely as possible but am still having troubles. My main router is working fine, everything can connect to it and gain access to internet despite having to change the security to WEP to allow for the repeater function to work. Now I am having troubles getting the repeater (WNR2000) to connect to my main router. The ip address of the repeater is listed in the connected devices of the main router and everything is managing to 'find' the repeater just fine but when I connect and put in the WEP key there is no internet connection. I read that a static ip address is needed or something like that but I am completely baffled
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo here's the setup, my apartment is right next to my parents' house (don't ask why) and they have a netgear WNR2000 router in their upstairs loft connected to a modem going to a local internet provider. My apartment is just far away enough so that I can barely get a signal, so I'm trying to set up a second wireless router (netgear WNR1000v2) in my apartment that will connect to the internet through the first router so I can get a better signal. I do have a way of running an Ethernet cable from the first router to the second in my apartment.

View 1 Replies View Relatedok so i finally got a decent dsl modem, from our isp it is also a wired/wireless router, i have Netgear WNR2000, that is conencted a lan port on the dsl router/modem, how do i set it up as an acces point so i can access the ip range of the dsl modem/router?
WNR's ip range : is the 192.168.1.x

I need to connect a computer which right now is at 192.168.1.x to my domain controller which is at 10.0.0.x..
I have a Motorola SBG901 router/gateway that is hooked to my desktop. I recently purchased a Netgear WNR2000 to use as a router to connect to a Blue-Ray player to receive firmware updates wirelessly. On every attempt to access the netgear unit to set it up as a repeater, I get nowhere. I tried hooking the unit up to my laptop and login in under the admin account but again to no avail. I really don't want to have to disconnect the SBG901.

I'm using Qwest internet with Actiontec PK5000, and I have to use my Netgear WNR2000v3 as a repeater. The Netgear is working as a repeater however I can't get internet through the LAN connections on the repeater. After checking the settings over and over again I'm beginning to think the repeater will only work with wifi. I need to hook up my desktop in the office, DirectTV, and Blueray player LAN connections to my repeater.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOur ISP provided a DSL modem/router (Netopia) that I connected to the Netgear wireless router with dd-wrt flashed. All I've done so far is connected the two. I have a connection, but I want to know if it's possible or advisable to configure everything from the Netgear router. But following the instructions here[URL], it seems I have to configure DNS and such using the Netopia router. I don't have a full grasp on how to use them together the correct way - like using the Netopia as an ethernet bridge.

View 1 Replies View RelatedToday a bought a brand new Netgear WNR2000 router.Upon setup the wifi was working correctly. All of the lights where active and it seemed everything was in order.Because the power cord was in the way I moved it and plugged it into a different powerpoint. From then onwards my router has not been working. Only three of seven lights are active (green).
I have tried unplugging and replugging all network cords. I have also turned it on and back off, reset the router and run the initial installation program thrice. What should I do now? Nothing so far has effected it. The computer I am installing it on is running Windows XP and the laptop I intend to use the wifi on is Windows 7.
Here is my setup:
Netgear WNR2000 router.
Macbook Pro with Snow Leopard connected to router through wireless.
Windows 7 Desktop getting internet through the MBP ethernet.
I can't figure out how to be a part of my "Home Network" with my Win7 Machine so I can see other computers in my house, use my networked printers, etc. I can only see the MBP it is connected to in network panel. I want to be able to stream the movies on this computer to my iPad which is connected to the wireless router.
I replaced a Netgear router with a similar Netgear router, but the LAN is no longer working. The old Netgear router would drop internet, but LAN would work. Replaced it, the new Netgear router works fine with the internet (cable modem), but the LAN with two computers will not work. The desktop with Windows XP, and a laptop with Windows 7. After runing network setups on both computers several times, I have been unable to reestablish the LAN, however internet access via the router is working. Reinstalled the old router and the LAN works fine, allowing file and printer sharing. Old router is a Netgear WGR614v2, new router is a Netgear WNR2000how to reconfigure the router/computers to get the LAN working again with new router.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhat would cause my Dir-825 to magically revert to it's default settings? This is the 4th time this has happened. We rely on a Verizon Network Extender for phone service. It requires an internet connection to function. When the router brain-farts, we don't have phone service... and we don't know it until we try to call out, or try to use the internet. We went to bed last night with the router working and woke up to it not working. It's just my wife and I here. I haven't seen the dog showing any interest in jacking with our computer gear.
When I access the setup utility and go to Manual Wireless Network Setup, the Wireless Network Name has defaulted to dlink, and Security Mode is None. I have to re-enter my personalized setup info, (because that is what our computers are looking for), then all works fine again.I'm a savy XP user, my wife has Vista (yuk) (she doesn't know any better; her daughter installed it).We are Comcast customers. We own a Linksys CM-100 modem. (When I connect direct by hardwire, (i.e. bypass the Dir-825 router), from the modem to any computer, or the Verizon Network Extender, they function just fine. Setup utility for Dir-825 says we have Hardware Version B-1; Firmware Version 2.02NA.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP. I see other posts addressing similar issues of reversion to default settings... but there don't seem to be any clear resolutions of these issues. On 2010-03-11, gunrunnerjohn posted, "I think there may be a shadow file that's actually in the FLASH that needs to get written back to make the changes stick. I seem to recall there is a command to sync the RAMDISK copies to the FLASH." Yet there is no more to this thread.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI currently have this router in use with verizon dsl (PPPoe) setup.I have this set to "always on". Since the verizon modem, which is also router has been set into bridge mode and the d-link came into play its been extremely slow, and dropping connection. The router is in a separate IP class, and has no conflict with the modem. My question is, if I upgrade this firmware from 1.0 to 1.02 will it default to factory settings? I know it says only some will. I do have the backup config file, but i would be doing this remotely, and would not be able to get to this router if it goes down. Has anyone gone from 1.0 to 1.2 and saw a difference and speed, and are you able to do this without losing settings.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe need to "reset" a SG200-08P switch back to the factory default settings and noted the "Quick Start Guide" implies the "Reset" button next to the power button doesn't exist and refers the user to the "Cisco Small Business Smart Switch Administration Guide" for instructions. We couldn't find any information related to a "factory reset" in that document either. Pressed the "paper clip button" on the switch but we still can't get in.

I know it's not the Internet itself, since it's only happening on my computer, and none others in the house - and I'm far from capped. I've run AVG, Spybot & Malwarebytes' scans and have found no infections of any kind. I've run TCP Optimizer and used the "reset to windows default settings" feature, which also hasn't worked one bit. I've tried different Ethernet cables and different plugs in the modem and no improvement.
