I have this Belkin wireless g router, which I had for a year. I was using the wired connection since then until I, at last, was able to use it's wireless connection but it only lasted around a week. After that, the modem light on the router kept on blinking and the internet light wouldn't turn on. I also couldn't connect to the router anymore(wired and wireless), neither could I configure it. I reset it but it still didn't work.

And then everything changed back to its original like my SSID from Netcom it changed back to wireless and everything was default and also the PPP was off so i wasn't able to connect to the internet. So i went to my router setup page on the internet or whatever and turned it back on. So now like the internet on my computer which has a cable to the router works but the wireless internet doesn't work for my laptop nor ipod. I can see the connection on the laptop and ipod but when i try to connect it keeps saying that it is unable to connect.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to set up a wireless network for my parents. I have a Belkin Play N600 router (model F7D8302) that I'm trying to hook up to an Acer desktop running Vista. The modem is a Siemens Speed stream 4100. I have a cable going from the ethernet port of the modem to the modem port on the router. The pc is connected to one of the other four ports in the router. The wireless works fine, but I can't get the wired connection on the desktop working. The Internet light on the modem is not on, but the modem works fine when connected directly to the pc. I've tried power cycling and resetting everything, but it's still not working.

I have a CPU that can only connect to my network via hard wire in another room. Running a hard wire from my Belkin router to the CPU is NOT an option. Therefore, I would like to use my TP-Link router (which has built in WDS wireless bridge capability) as a wireless bridge and have it connect to my Belkin router and thereby the network and the internet via wifi. I will then connect my CPU to the TP-Link router via hard wire.
I've tested both routers directly and independently connected to the modem and they both work fine. The issue I have is only in trying to get the bridge between them to work. I've followed various tutorials (TP-Link website, YouTube videos, site like this one, etc.) to no avail.I know that my Belkin router does not specifically have wireless bridge capabilities, but I'm not sure if BOTH routers having this capability is necessary for a wireless bridge to work or not.I also have multiple screen shots of the router configuration settings for both routers which can be provided if need be.
I'm having an issue connecting to my wireless router. I can connect fine with security disabled, but it doesn't connect if I enable WPA. It says there's a "timeout" issue when I try to connect with WPA enabled.No one else is having issues connecting with their laptops and smartphones, so it must be a problem with my computer. [code]

Before when I had a **bleep**y netgear 33 mb it worked perfectly fine. Now this router is has 300 +mb and it stil doesnt work. This router cost me $80 dollars. Before cisco linsys I bought a netgear not the **bleep**ty neatgear but a newer one and it still had the same problem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedTrying to troubleshoot a Cisco Pix 501. We have a cable modem/router that goes to the Cisco box that then goes to my wife's computer. It's worked flawlessly since we hooked it up, even if we unplug/replug the router. Today, we unplugged the Cisco box itself to hook up a newer one. When the newer one didn't work, we tried to hook up the old one again to no avail. The led indicators seem to show that everything's working properly. We've unplugged and rebooted everything. Nothing works. The network monitor on the computer shows that it detects being connected to a network, but it always says no internet access.

I have an E4200 and I can not get WoL to work over the internet.(I'm assuming it's not actually going out to the internet when I wirelessly wake it using shawn.dynamicservice.com and the subnet, but rather the DDNS name is being resolved through the ARP cache, but I don't know. I'm still learning) Consequently, if the sentence above in parenthesis is correct, I am unable to perform WoL from outside my LAN. What am I missing?

I tried both the old IP address (192.168.1.1) and the IP address that I entered when I was configuring Bridge mode, but I couldn't get either to work. I have always tried resetting the switch to factory defaults and trying again to make sure I didn't type anything wrong, but to no avail. The wireless and everything works as it should, I just can't get back into the router to change any of my settings.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have successfully set up a guest network on my EA4500. Guest laptop associates with guest SSID just fine. Then via IE, it gets prompted for the guest password, which is entered and accepted just fine. At this point guest laptop is on the network.
BUT... at some point the guest laptop will need to reauthenticate (I don't know what the timeout is, but maybe one or two days?). Anyway, it's at this point that IE presents the guest network login page. But now after typing in the password, "enter" or clicking on the button does nothing. It looks like the guest web page doesn't get loaded properly or completely, so the reauthentication can't complete, therefore can't get to the internet. So, while in this state, I've also tried Firefox and Chrome, and same thing, no action when trying to submit the guest password. Tried rebooting guest laptop, and still same problem. Only thing I've found so far that works is to reboot the router. So I'm guessing there's a problem with the guest/web server on the router?? It's a real pain to have to reboot the router every day or two, when I've had other Linksys routers run for months without having to touch them.
I was running CCC 2.1.38 when I first noticed the problem. Since then I've downgraded to Classic 2.0.37, but it seems I still have the same problem. Again, I can connect & authenticate just fine initially, but when reprompted after some period of time, it doesn't work.
I've tried contacting Cisco support, but it looks like I'm at 91 days since purchase and thus outside of my 90-day complimentary support, so they happily provided me with the premium support options just to have the honor of talking with them. Guess I shouldn't have spent so much time trying to figure this out myself.
I tried restarting the router and the computer, but to no avail. I've also tried with another ethernet cable and tried several ports, but that did not work, either. What is interesting is that other computers in the household connect to the router via wire without problems. I suppose that means something's wrong with my computer, however, I do not know what. I have a netgear router which says "N300 Wireless ADSL2+ Modem Router DGN2200v3" on the back. My computer has Windows 7 Home Premium installed. I'm using a DSL connection, and Avast! antivirus.

They are all in bridged mode, however when I attempt to enable the guest network on each of them, the config shows it as active, but it never shows up as visiible SSID. In previous posts, I've seen people saying that I need to do a complete hard reset of the router and re-enter all the configs again to get the guest network active. Is this true? I'd hate to think that I have to hard reset and reconfigure all three of these APs, just to get the guest network enabled.

After reading other posts, I reset the router with no results, used a new cable from the Belkin to the computer, changed ports, checked connections, restarted; nothing. When I do an ipconfig, a small window pops open and goes off before I can make anything out. I undestand Belkin's IP address is 192.168.2.1 and I'm showing that my IPv4DHCP Server is that, as is my DNS server. The IPv4WINS server shows nothing.

I have internet access by directly wiring from the modem to my computer.My router doesn't work anymore. I have a local network, but no internet access. I'm using a Linksys WRT54G, and I don't really know what to do.As far as I remember, setting everything to defaults and factory settings was how I set up my router in the first place and it just worked.

So I use the "Diagnose and repair" feature which tells me to either reset the ip address or something or one of my cables is unplugged so I should unplug the modem and router and replug it back it after checking the cables.The resetting the ip address doesn't do jack but if I unplug the router and replug it in, the wi-fi works again...well, until i log off and log back in againI've also tried updating my wifi drivers, run a scan for viruses, and updated all my software. Its been like this for a month now and I just found this site.

Just got TL-MR3040 from amazon, not very happy that it is version 1, they could at least mention it in the description, but whatever...The problem is, i can not make it work with my PC laptop(thinkpad x120e with Windows 7 64 bit). Which means,1 not possible to get into web interface to configure it, and 2 if i configure it with old powerbook (os x 10.4) to share internet from usb stick, i can connect to it's wireless network but it doesn't share internet with my pc laptop,while mac and ipad working perfect...I've try to log in into web interface through the cable, still no luck...Not sure i want to re-install the whole system on my laptop just to see if it will change anything, it works with any other router, and usb sticks...

I've just set up a MR3420. It works fine in "WAN only" mode and provides access via our ADSL modem. It also works fine in "3G only" mode and provides access via a Reliance Netconnect+ USB modem (a Huawei E150 I think). I updated the firmware to the latest version in order to get it to work with the USB modem.
The problem I have is that when I set it to "3G preferred" it doesn't seem to connect over 3G. I can see it tries to connect but then fails and then WAN takes over. The connect and disconnect options are greyed out on the 3G page so I am unable to manually get it to retry. I've tried leaving it for a long time but it doesn't seem to connect over 3G ever. I've tried setting 3G to connect on demand and connect automatically but both behave the same.
Whenever my main PC is turned on, i get no signal from the wireless, like i cannot use my phone or laptop on the internet i use an Ethernet cable which is directly connected to my main PC my windows is also window XP and my modem model is TG782T only if my PC is turned off the wireless works
