I'm trying to configure an Cisco 1841 with IOS 12.4 to an FTTH conection.I would configure PPOE protocol in the vpdn-group 1 but I can't see this option in the command line,I have read about the command "bba-group pppoe global" but i'm not sure if it has the same result. It's valid? How can I use the bba-group pppoe global¿? I need to use it with a virtual template?
I'm trying to get a PPPoE config working on an 1841. Running c1841-advsecurityk9-mz.124-3i.bin . I tried c1841-advsecurityk9-mz.151-4.M4.bin but it has even less protocol options.
I used a walkthrough but it suggests the following fragment which doesn't work because there is no "protocol ppoe" command available on my system. Perhaps there is a simpler way to do this? I tried c1841-broadband-mz.151-4.M4.bin but it doesn't seem to have ssh available.
I have a cisco 1841 whose LAN interface is showing status as "Fastethernet 0/1 is up , line protocol is down" the duplex and speed settings in the Router are in Auto mode and the Router was working fine till now , when i changed the duplex settings to duplex full , speed 100 the ping replies comes back with 5-6 replies then the link dies again..
I have a strange issue where im able to get an ipsec tunnel from tha cisco 1841 to a linksys/cisco RV016 for about a minute and ping/encrypt packets across the lin for about a minute before it goes down. I tried various configuration and it all results in the tunnel coming up for a minute then going down. I'm not sure if im hitting a bug and on which decide of if im doing something wrong.

I have found this workable cisco 1841 config on the NET. From this link: [URL]
But it is doing source NAT from FA0/1 to Fa0/0. If we need to bridge, is it need to use “ip unnumbered”?
See my config below” 1841 config for Unifi, with ip unnumbered“, can work?
1841 config for Unifi, with NAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ! ! ! Works perfectly on Cisco 1841, IOS v12.4(24)T !
My Company use Core Sw 4507R-Sup 7L-E with Enterprise Services License. I has upgraded to use iOS cat4500e-universal.SPA.03.03.01.SG.151-1.SG1.bin
When I use match protocol in class-map, there are only about 10 protocols, and not have those ones I need. I intend to expand the list of protocols to do some Policy-map by loading PDLM. But 4507 is no longer support NBAR. So do we have another way to set Catalyst 4507R with Sup 7L-E recongnize more protocols in match protocol command?
I'm trying to troubleshoot one of our site today and can't seem to issue the show dsl interface command on a 1841 router. Does the same command is used for SHDSL or am I running with an IOS bug?

What is the command to shutdown a cisco 1841 (say, to add a module)? I know how to reload / reboot, but does not seem to find any command with an obvious name.
I'm trying to configure my BRI interface in "network protocol-emulate network" and "layer1-emulate network" but i don't have this second command. Is someone have allready to that with this type of interface ?I've to configure this because the ISDN line of my telco is in user mode only.
I am using cisco 1841 LAN router, I need to block MAC address i have applied the command access-list 1102 deny 0000.0000.0000.0000 mac address..... but it does not work.
I have a 2801 router. The Fa0/0 int shows up/down. I have plugged it into diffrent cisco and non cisco switches and even a cross over cable to my laptop. I cant seem to get the protocol up. I have changed the speed to 100 and duplex to full to try to get it up that way and nothing. [code]
I was working on a problem the other day and came across something that I had seen before but never given much thought. I had a router with a switch connected to it and the interface was showing as Ethernet0 is up, line protocol is down. The problem in the end turned out to be a cable that had fell out because it was not connected correctly, but I was able to replicate this interface status on a router (FastEthernet0/0 is up, line protocol is down), and NO cable was attached to the interface.I've had a look on the internet but cant seem to find a good answer, so does anybody else know why this status is shown on the router? Remember, NO cable is connected to the interface so it isn't a speed or duplex problem
I'm looking to make a possible configuration for a customer. They need a device to provide :- firewalling- bandwidth limiting based on protocols, IP, users- web content filtering- good reporting to see which device/users are consuming most of the bandwidth.I used to use cisco ASA as firewall but it's a while I last installed on and I'm nt uptodate which current state. So I thought of using an ASA 5512-X but I'd like to know if it comply with all the requirements .Most important being the reporting and bandwidth limiting capability. It would be great to have some configuration example regarding bandwidth management.
how to bring this interface back up? It's a 1252 with 80211.n.I started configuring it with CLI and then was using the web interface. I made a change on the web interface and it caused the AP to hang. I rebooted it and can access via Hyperterminal, but I cannot ping the IP address nor bring it up in the web interface any longer.I tried the "No shut" command in the BVI1 interface.
I am currently configuring a number of cisco 2811 routers that require the BGP exterior routing protocol, however the IOS version (12.4) currently installed does not support the bgp protocol. After entering the commands into the cisco CLI 'protocol not in this image' is returned.
I have a Pix 515E running PixOS version 8.0.4 with two interfaces, inside and outside. On the inside interface, I have a Redhat Enterprise Linux 5.4 64 bits machine as an NFS server version 4 (NFSv4).On the outside interface, I have three (3) Redhat Enterprise Linux 5.4 64 bits as NFS clients.I am looking for the exact UDP and TCP ports to be added to the ACL in order to accomplish
My ISP is going to provide internet with dual path , for auto changover he (isp it admin) is planing for bgp implimentation.
is 1941 is supportable for bgp protocol ? Is it possible to create bandwitdh rate limit based on ip address on access list (be cause we are getting some 10 Ip address from isp , out of 10 ip address , 3 ip addres has to go 3 diffrent departments) , i want restrict theese 3 ip address with 1 mb traffic as 1:1.
I am using the Self RADIUS server in my Cisco ACS SE 4.2 appliance S. I have an AAA client C that interacts with S by means of the RADIUS protocol. This works fine, in that S correctly carries out authentication chores on username/password (PAP and CHAP) pairs received from C, sending back to C the corresponding Access-Accept packet when the authentication succeeds, or Access-Reject when it doesn't.
I have been able to import a set of three VSAs into S. Each of those attributes is of string type. I then configured in S a single user U with password P so that, whenever a U/P pair received in S from C is authenticated by S, S should send back to C, in the Access-Accept packet, the three attributes with the following values: [code]
With this setup, when an authentication is successfully completed by S, C receives 53 bytes worth of data from S every time. I am attaching a typical example, already disassembled. I have disguised the actual vendor ID, for legal reasons, but the rest is exactly as it was when received in C.
According to the disassembly, what we got is an Access-Accept packet, as expected. Its length is 53 bytes - again as expected, for this is the only packet that C has received from S here. However, the packet is incomplete, for attribute #3 is missing its value field.
Looking into the whole packet in more detail, it can be seen that while the wire format for the first attribute, namely, Frame-IP-Address, is correctly constructed, the remaining are not. For example, the sequence of bytes corresponding to the attribute #1 reads 1a 09 00 00 xx xx 2c 61 62 63. I believe that this is incorrect; it should be 1a 0a 00 00 xx xx 2c 61 62 63, for the wire format for this attribute consists of 10, not 9, bytes. I tried a few variations on the values for the attributes, and the results are always substantially the same, in that the wire formats for these attributes are always incorrect.
This all probably implies I have done something wrong when importing the VSAs into S, and/or when configuring things on S. I am therefore attaching the csv files I used to import my VSAs into S; as before, names and vendor ID are disguised, but their lengths are exactly the same as in the undisguised file. I used two csv files: One to import the vendor ID, and the other to import the VSAs under that vendor ID. As for user U, in S's administration GUI I clicked on User Setup and selected user U, moved to the bottom of the screen, where the attributes for this particular vendor were present, introduced the values for each attribute mentioned above, and made sure that button in front of each attribute was ticked.
I'm having an issue with my Cisco 2811. The Internal FastEthernet0/1 interface is showing Link up but Protocol down. I have tried various combinations with the speed and duplex on the port and having no luck. The port connects to our Fortigate 110c router.
The IP defined in RFC 791 was the first widely-used version of the Internet Protocol. Interestingly, however, it is not version 1 of IP but version 4! This would of course imply that there were earlier versions of the protocol at one point. Interestingly, however, there really weren't. As I mentioned above, IP was created when its functions were split out from an early version of TCP that combined both TCP and IP functions. TCP evolved through three earlier versions, and was split into TCP and IP for version 4. That version number was applied to both TCP and IP for consistency.url... what i wanna know s in tat underlined line its given 3 versions of TCP what r they?
I just bought 2 Nexus 7000 to upgrade my primary/Production Data Center from 6509/MSFC. I'll keep the 6509E/SUP720 for the DR Data Center. I have ordered two 10Gig Wan Pipes between the Production and DR. In other words between the Nexus 7000 and the 6509E.
My problem is that i do not know the best way to do the routing between the 2 Data Centers. Currently I have MPLS with a provider connecting the 2 Data Centers using BGP on the CEs and I'm running eigrp in locally in the Cores. After the 10Gig comes to life, the MPLS will go away.
My QUESTION: Should i run ibgp between the 2 Nexus and ibgp between the 2 6509E/sup 720 AND THEN run ebgp between the Nexus and the 6509/sup 720 over the 10Gig WAN? OR should i collapse everything into one eigrp domain/AS and just run Eigrp between the Nexus and 6509E/Sup 720 over the 10Gig Wan?
We are using CISCO LMS 4.2.3 in our network in India, we are facing a issue regarding alarm generation for a protocol flap/down, especially when BGP / OSPF neighbourship got flapped. These flapping will result in the data service degradation , by which we came to know that some protocol flap may occurred at router end & then we go for the manual check by login into the router. After escalating the same to cisco we came to know that it is a bug of Cisco LMS. using any other method/technique to view the protocol down alarms automatically for cisco routers.
I'm replacing a PA-POS-OC3-SM with PA-POS-1OC3 in a flex Wan module (WS-X6582-2PA) in Cisco 6506 using WS-SUP32P-GE PISA.I have a hard time bringing the "protocol up. the status I see is line up and protocol down. Debug shows (attached) no comunication with the edge router but when i put the older PA (PA-POS-OC3-SM ) back evertything works fine and older PA has been running for many years without the issue. I'm replacing older PA is becuase this is going EOL. I had opened a TAC case but the TAC engineer added no value. [code]
