Connection Drops When Pc Hibernates?

Aug 23, 2011

We have 7 computers, only 2 are hardwired, and a wireless modem (gateway) with a 6 port hub attached for the wired pc's. My son's pc is wireless, and every day when he goes to get on it for school (he's homeschooled through a virtual academy), the LAN icon, instead of bars, has the yellow dot on it indicating connection. He has to reconnect every day, and sometimes even throughout the day if he leaves the computer long enough (such as when the monitor goes off, there is no screensaver). How do I fix it (Windows 7) to where his pc will stay connected and not disconnect when the pc hibernates?

All devices on the network behave as though the network is not available, then again sees the network, and reconnects (all devices being two laptops, three smartphones, and a PS3...same symptoms). My modem does not have any problems, and I have tried resetting the router, but it has not worked.

Connection Drops Whenever It Is Under Load?

Jul 31, 2012

My connection drops whenever it is under load. Anything can make it drop, from 2 youtube videos playing the same time to downloading something from steam. Im using wifi and I have tried a lot of things in case something interferes like changing channels. My signal strength is great and my isp and speed is fine and my connection is 54mbps. What is kind of weird is that my wifi doesnt disconnect it just stops transmitting data and the only way to fix it is to reset the router or unplug and replug my usb wifi adapter. I downloaded the wireless tool from this website, since my windows language(Windows XP) is in greek so is the reg file and some characters are just weird symbols. To Kedar:Unfortunately, no its impossible to change the language of your OS ive tried it before, the only way is to buy the English version and reinstall windows.

Cisco :: VPN Authenticates Then Drops Connection?

I would eventually like to have this setup to use either the cisco VPN client or the webVPN option, but this question is about my VPN client setup.I'm using a Cisco ASA 5505 at the head end and the Cisco VPN client 5.0.06.0160 on the client side.In the logs the client authenticates, grabs an IP, DNS and domain info and then drops the connection.

Wireless Connection Drops Out With Windows 7?

Mar 13, 2011

I recently bought a new HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC and have been experiencing problems when connecting to my personal wireless network. It seems that whenever I'm downloading anything or using the connection extensively I'll lose internet connection and the wireless icon in the bottom right hand corner of the screen will show an orange star to indicate that connections are available. However if I go to available networks I can immediately reconnect to the network I was on.

I have other notebooks that run on XP that do not have this issue and use the connection without a problem. Also when I connect my notebook directly to my belkin router via Ethernet cable the connection has issues. I'm running my computer on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and my Wireless adapter is an Atheros AR9285 802.11b/g/n Wifi adapter which appears to have up to date drivers.

Internet Connection Drops Out Every 10 Minutes?

Jan 15, 2011

Just starting a couple of days ago my internet started dropping about every 10-20 minutes. The problem is only with this computer. I have a laptop right next to me and it works fine no problem and two other PCs that don't have any issues so I don't think it is the router. I have scanned my computer with different antivirus software and it's clean. The computer is always connected with a full 5 bars and says it has internet access but sometimes it drops and in order to get it up and running again I unplug the wireless adapter and plug it in again. At first I thought it might have been the adapter so I swapped it out for a new one and I'm still having the same problems. My wireless is unencrypted. This keeps happening over and over again and I am stumped on what to do.

D-Link DIR-615 :: VPN Connection Drops After 12 Minutes

Jul 16, 2010

I have a DIR-615, hardware version: C1, firmware version 3.12NA and my issue is that it keeps dropping my VPN connection after 12 minutes.  Sometimes it'll go longer than 12 minutes but on average right at 12 minutes of my connection, it drops.  This happens whether I'm using the wireless or hard wired to the router.  As a test, I ran a continuous ping on a computer on my internal network and also to a computer on my corporate network.  When I'm VPN'd in, both pings are successful.  Once the router kills my VPN session, the pings to my internal network are successful.  So the router isn't rebooting or anything like that.  My VPN session will automatically reconnect, but I'm stumped.

I'm not a Pix expert by any means, but here's what's happening:

- Our Internet service drops.

- When this happens I try to ping the PIX on the inside interface and it times out.

- Our Internet service comes back up and I am able to ping the Pix.

- I connect to the Pix and issue a SHOW INTERFACE command to look for errors.  I FIND NONE.

Wireless Connection Drops And Picks Up Frequently

Sep 8, 2012

I am trying to track down a problem I am having with one laptop. Other wireless devices on the network are not showing the same problem. Connecting to the router by ethernet resolves the problem.Over a 120 second period, the wireless connection drops and reconnects several times. Each time it drops it almost immediately picks up and re-connects. The "down time" is usually between 5 and 20 seconds.I have updated the driver for the wireless card (it was out of date) but this did not resolve.

Reading posts here - I see you typically need to see a WiFi inspector screen shot - which I have attached. You can see a couple of "drops" on the graph.

Router Drops PC Connection If There Are Other Hosts On Network

Jul 24, 2011

I have a PC upstairs, let's call it (Peter-PC), my dad has a PC downstairs (Kris-PC) and I just setup a linux home server downstairs as well called (server). Now, Peter-PC is connected through Linksys powerline adapters to the router, and server and Kris-PC are connected directly to the router as well.Peter-PC stays constantly connected to the internet, only until Kris-PC is turned on, then Peter-PC connection goes mental and begins to disconnect, reconnect, can't ping the router. As soon as Kris-PC is turned off,Peter-PC is back to normal. However, if Kris-PC and server are both on, they both operate fine. Seems like Peter-PC is the only unfortunate one.I mean the powerline adapters have been working for over 3 years now, and the Powerline light is flashing meaning they are communicating, I highly doubt it's the adapters.

However, since our service was activated last Thursday, the internet connection intermittently drops and will not recover unless I reboot the modem. The period of up-time will last anywhere between fifteen seconds to several hours, usually falling along the five-to-ten minute range. No difference when using ethernet/wifi. The DSL light stays on, and the Internet light remains on as well.

Laptop Drops Internet Connection After 10 Seconds

Apr 27, 2011

New laptop, connected to my home network which is very stable and has no history of connection issues. After about 10 seconds the laptop drops the connection. Sometimes it'll come back for a while sometimes not, haven't observed any pattern in this yet, All I've done since starting the computer for the first time is installed all the junk that comes with it (Nero stuff mostly) and installed all windows updates (there were over 60 of them) and AVG Free edition. Before doing all that the connection was still not right but it did hold for a lot longer than 10 seconds. It held for over an hour downloading programs like Itunes, AVG and Firefox, Going to control panel > network sharing centre when the connection is down I see the yellow exclamation mark between my computer and my network. Troubleshooting this resets the network adapter, gives me the error 'The default gateway is not available' and says that it is fixed. The connection then works again for about 10 seconds and drops once more.

Internet Connection Drops But Still Connected To The Network

Dec 13, 2011

no matter what device is used to connect to our Linksys WRY54G v2.0 Router, whether it be CAT6, internal wireless card (Intel Wireless LAN (802.11a/b/g/n), or USB wireless card (Linksys AE1000), she drops connections at random and frequent times and has to disconnect the device and reconnect to get internet back. She is still connected to the network though. The issue has been becoming more and more frequent the past few days and has been ongoing for a few months. We are at wits end with the issue. I looked on Linksys' website for updated firmware for the router AND the AE1000, no new firmware and same driver that is installed for the AE1000. We have tried to enable Multimedia Environment, Disable 802.11, unchecked "Automatically turn off device to save power", changed router channels from 6 to 1, have uninstalled ALL third party firewalls and AV/Spyware/Malware/Adware removal programs (but not before scanning the system), and lastly tried the DHCP Braodcast Flag Fix.

DLink 615 E1 - Wireless Connection Randomly Drops?

Nov 13, 2012

My wireless connection randomly drops, or has no Internet connection, or says it has connection and Internet but no web pages load. Usually, what happens is it says I have no Internet connection. I have to disconnect and reconnect to get the Internet back. My ethernet connected computer never loses connection.

I am running Windows 7 with a Realtek wireless card. I have updated the driver to the latest. The wireless router is a D-Link 615 e1 using DD-WRT. The router is hooked up to a Brighthouse Arris TM402G/110 modem for internet access (note: this is my second modem. I had the same problem with another modem. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name.)

When the router is connected to a U-Verse 2Wire 3800HGV modem/wireless router (with the wireless turned off) I have no Internet disconnections. Everything else is the same (I just move the Ethernet cable between the two modems). Of course, one is just a modem and the other is a NAT router/modem.

I noticed that the wireless connection has a weaker signal when connected to the Brighthouse modem then when connected to the U-Verse modem. I therefore tried to up the TX signal strength on the router. This improved the situation (and the signal strength) but I still get disconnects. I also tried setting the MSS to 1492.

Wireless Connection Drops Constantly On Second Laptop?

Been searching threads here and all over google. I have DSL thru Century Link.Router is Zyxel pk5001z. 2 laptops being used. ( well, they were until my MB fried out.) My laptop has Win 7, my girlfriends has Vista.- Dell inspiron 1525. Only had the service for about 2 mo's. My laptop was working fine wirelessly. Hers drops constantly.Currently hers is the only one being used.Sometimes shows the red x, other times just local only.- Drops and reconnects within seconds. I have set channel to 6 and 11. disabled IPC 6 in laptop adapter, uninstalled/reinstalled wireless card in device manager, checked for newer driver, checked for firmware upgrade in modem, set to g/n only, ( no option for G only) connection strenth is full. No wirless phones, no close neighbors, etc. I have read posts indicating the routers are junk, other posts saying Vista has issues with certian routers, but nothing that pinpoints my exact problem. Also, just re-loaded Vista the other day.
