I own a laptop and a desktop, and I use my DIR-600 to connect them both to the internet, using a PPPoE connection. After "repairing" the Desktop (by booting via Windows XP CD) my PC just stopped connecting to the internet. I had rested the router, then configuring it again. Still same issue. Wireless works perfectly. Direct connection.

My modem and router are always on.Last night I was using the internet, no problems.This morning I woke up to find "No Internet Access".My computer was connecting to the router just fine, but the router was showing a orange Earth symbol on the front (not green).I connected the computer directly to the modem and internet works just fine. After powering off both the modem and router and checking all the connections ... still the router is not "reading" the internet from the modem. And still the internet is there if I connect the modem directly to the computer (that's how I am online and posting this right now).
View 1 Replies View Relatedrecently my network adapter just stopped working. The wifi signal was really bad so i unplugged it and when i plugged it back in it doesnt even turn on. I've reinstalled the drivers and still it doesn't turn on. In device manager there is a yellow exclamation mark next to it and when i click on properties it says code 10. I used it on my laptop and it turns on but when i plug it in my desktop it doesn't seem to turn on.

I've tried everything to fix it.It's a D-Link DWA-525 802.11n Wireless PCI netowrk adapter. On device manager it just says 802.11 Wireless LAN Card with a yellow exclamation next to it. And when I check what the error is, it's either error 31 or 52 at different times, depending what I've tried to do to fix it.I tried downloading the driver for it off the D-Link website, nothing happens at all when I install it. I tried taking it out of my computer and plugging it in. I tried enabling it and disabling it on device manager.I noticed one thing, when it's in my computer the green light at the back that says activity next to it isn't on.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've been happily using a desktop PC wired into a router (using an ethernet cable) as well as a laptop that connects wirelessly to the router. This setup has been working fine since I started with it a few weeks ago.
On Friday evening the desktop PC stopped being able to connect to the internet and hasn't been working since. The laptop is able to connect fine wirelessly.
The router light seems to indicate that the ethernet connection is ok. I've tried connecting wirelessly from the desktop PC but that doesn't work either - the Netgear wireless usb adaptor won't open from within Windows as it usually would do.
Nothing has changed to the hardware setup (I've checked all connections) so I wonder if this is a software problem caused by a virus or maybe by Windows updates?
My new dell Inspiron 3520 stopped connecting to the Internet it won't connect to wifi at all and is limited when plugged into a Ethernet cable . I don't know what to to I've tried everything the wifi led isn't working either
View 10 Replies View RelatedI just got new roommates and the internet on his computer would only load facebook and google. NOTHING else. It said he has internet connection but it still wouldn't work. I even called my internet provider and they couldn't figure it out. His internet worked perfectly fine when it was on safe mode with networking. I even disabled his firewalls and I ran malewarebytes but found nothing. I thought this was just his computer but then a day later my computer is doing the same thing! my computer has worked perfectly fine for over a year on the same router and everything but now it has the same exact symptoms as his. I don't know if this is a router issue or not. .

A Dell Inspiron laptop (2011) with Windows 7, will not connect to the internet. Wireless network shows good connectivity and I tried plugging in my ethernet cable between the router and my Dell and it didn't work. My desktop and other devices (Wii, other laptops, itouch) can connect wirelessly without a problem. I have had this laptop for about a year and it has worked perfectly until today. I was using the internet an hour prior to shutting down the system. When I restarted it an hour later the wireless connection was there, but there was an error saying that I could not connect to the internet. I tried restarting the router and the system and nothing worked. Could this be a hardware problem with the network card? I have been using the network card heavily for internet gaming and noticed that the laptop has been getting very hot.

My network is: Internet > Cable Modem > WRT120N > Computers
As I said, the problem is that the Router doesnt has Internet Connection.
Things to take in consideration: The Cable MODEM ISN'T the problem Because if i connect the modem directly to a computer, I have Internet connection without problems.I Diconnected and Connected both Modem and Router in several ways and several times, and it doesnt work.I also tryed clonning my PCs MAC address to the Router and it was the same.The Router Indeed receives the External IP Address from the Modem, and also, it changes if i restart the modem (as my ISP IP is DHCP). But there is NO internet conection.The Router had the 1.0.05 Firmware, and i upgraded to 1.0.06, and the problem persists. Another thing to take in account is that if I turn off my modem and the I turn it On, sometimes, the router receives Internet connection, but in matter of Seconds (minutes as much), the internet connection falls.
This is NOT an ISP problem, because as I said, if I connect the Modem Directly to any PC, i have a perfectly normal Internet Connection, And also, I called my ISP and they Said me that there werent any problem on their network.
I have also tryed with the "Router Dianostics" (the Ping and Traceroute options that are in the Router's Webend and also, no conection. So its NOT a Cables problem.
My client has a ~6 year old dell xps which up until about two weeks ago connected to the internet fine with a netgear usb wireless adapter (it is a desktop). When that stopped working, she ordered a Rosewill RNX-N300X (my suggestion) and I installed it.I got the driver installed and everything, it connects to the router without a problem. Her laptop also connects wirelessly to the router just fine and can browse the web without a problem. The desktop however, even when connected to the router, refuses to access the internet. I was thinking the problem was DNS related because I can ping any ip address in cmd, but can't ping actual websites like [url]... or [url]... The problem is, when I manually change the dns servers in the wireless connection properties, it disables dhcp and will not connect to the internet.Here are the ipconfig /all results for the laptop which works:

I successfully connected to my windows xp pc through the remote desktop connection client on my macbook and now I am unable to connect to the internet on the pc. All that it says is acquiring network address. I know that it is not an isp or router issue because all of the other computers on the network are able to connect just fine. I tried using system restore but it said something to the effect of windows can not restore to this point, no changes were made to your computer. This happened with multiple different restore points.

Now I have a laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium. I was able to connect both of them using ethernet cross over cable and successfully enabled file sharing through Local Area Network. My PC can't seem to keep the wireless connection for longer than a few seconds without it trying to reconnect and eventually drop again. Other family members' PCs don't seem to have this problem and my laptop also has a stable connection.
I used to have no problem connecting, but this problem arose one day. My house uses Verizon FIoS, the router is a Netgear R3600 and my PC uses AVG.
The picture has the signal showing up, but then it disappears seconds later only to reappear again.
I have a dell desktop that uses Windows XP. Today I was cleaning out some unwanted programs that I never use and just take up space. But I don't know if I deleted something that I shouldn't have, or what happened but I am now unable to use my wireless internet. It says that a "network cable is unplugged". I restarted it and tried to login to the router but failed. I called the support and did a hard reset of the router. After that when I am not able to connect to the router from my computer for configuring it again. When I connected the Router to my computer via LAN cable sometimes the LAN port is glowing and sometimes it is not. I tried different LAN Cables too. But nothing is working and I am not able to get to the router page.

But, I can access its folders using Windows Explorer. Any other PC on the network can remote desktop to the server and connect. What happened to my machine? This message appears when i try to connect: "Remote Desktop can't connect to the remote computer for one of the following reasons:

I am having wireless connection/internet issues that are irritating me to the core!!! I have called tech support 4 times now, and I still can't get everything to play nice...I have the 655 set up as a wireless router to a Windows 7 laptop, one iPad, two iTouches, and one N3DS. I can't find a setting that will work with all devices. Here are the senarios...
1) Settings: Wireless enabled, 802.11n only, Auto Scan off-channel set to 1, Best Transmission rate, Channel Width Auto 20/40, Visible, Auto WPA Mode with AES Cipher and a pre-share key. This yields fantastic results with my laptop, it can stream video for entire episodes, and I have no problems with loading webpages in either IE or Firefox. However, it does not support the kids iTouches or N3DS.
2) Changed the above to mixed 802.11n/g AND ALSO tried 802.11 only: iTouches work and can connect to the internet, but laptop doesn't like it. I get "Problem loading webpage" every other time I access and website, and streaming stop every 5-6 minutes. Bars indicate wireless signal is strong, but intermittently get that yellow triangle.
WAG160N gateway and wireless dropouts. Wireless connectivity to file and printer shares will fail after an unspecified duration of time.Internet access may also drop. Repairing the wireless connection does not appear to work. Saving the gateway settings without making changes appears to temporarily fix this issue (some users have reported this does not work). Manually performing a power cycle of the gateway will temporarily fix this issue.

My laptop connects to the internet through this router using wireless and for test purposes through the ethernet port. I installed a new network card {Dynex DX-E102 PCI NetworkAdaptor}in the desktop. When i'm enabling either the old or new card through Control Panel, Network Connections, i get the message "acquirin network address,Firewalled".and it never enables. I ran Malwarebytes and no infections were found. I use AVG anti-virus and Internet Explorer.

It is on a wifi but I tried it at a local wifi spot & wont hook up there either , it shows a good wifi connection at both places . Sometimes it connects successfuly .This happens while my other pc, connected by cable to the router, works perfectly.The next day i open the laptop the internet works fine.I noticed ,when i had another router, that the laptop often had problems connecting to it while my pc was working. It would connect a lot slower after i would reset the router.I have Windows 7 Ultimate installed on both.

No sooner did i do that my internet started to disconnect on me. i mean that one min it is working the next it is not. then i worked fine for a bit. But about 30 after it stopped my wifi router stopped connecting to the web, I tried to reset it multiple times but to no avail. I though it was my modem but i plugged in an old router i have and it connects with no problems. so those facts leave me to think there is something wrong with my wifi router. i had a spare brand new one sitting around and it did the same thing as the old one.

The IP address is correct and signal is real strong, excelent according to PC. I put in the security KEY and it connects and says it's ok but no internet.I've tried every thing. When I plug in the ethernet cable everything works fine on line. With Belkin you can let windows start the wireless input or Belkin. I tried both. No luck. It all has been working fine for months until yesterday she cannot connect to router. I unplugged router and modem for a minute, replugged modem then router back in and laptop still will not connect to router. I can connect to internet if don't use router and connect from modem to laptop. I do not think anything is wrong with her router or any plug-in connections because I have no problem connecting to her router with my own laptop or my wifes laptop! I have a Dell ( VISTA ) and a Dell ( XP ). I'm thinking maybe wirless card in my daughter's Tobisha could be the problem?

There is nothing wrong with the router as all my other wifi devices still work on the network (xbox 360, flatmates laptop etc.) so I assume its something to do with my laptop.I have tried restarting the router and it hasnt worked, neither have any of the windows tools. My connection type, set when I setup my wireless router, is pppoe.I have my router connected to a SpeedStream Modem, my ISP is Bell.I am worried that I will have to purchase a hub/switch in order to allow the desktop (PC3) to access the internet, although it seems to me (from reading other internet postings) that what I am attempting to do should work with just the modem+router setup that I have.I haven't worked with Windows LAN networks before (wired, not wireless) I have only dealt with my laptop's wireless internet connections and it seems much simpler to deal with than wired lan connections.
