I have a dell Inspiron N5010. Recently I installed windows 7 ultimate 32 bit and after that my wifi is not working. It was working perfectly with the same operating system previously but after the new installation the wifi sign from the desktop has disappeared. I install wlan broadcomm files for the wifi adapter but with no results. When I press the wifi button on keyboard it shows bluetooth device not discoverable.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a 5 month old Dell Inspiron 1564 with a Dell WLAN 1397 Wireless card. I was having some trouble connecting to my wireless router, and as a last attempt to get it working, I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver for my wireless card, using a fresh download of the latest version from Dell's support site.
The driver seems to install fine, and when I look at the wireless card in Device Manager, it's enabled, but in "Control PanelNetwork and InternetNetwork Connections" (which can be accessed through the Network and Sharing Center), it is grayed out and says Disabled.
When I click enable in there, a small window pops us saying "Enabling", then after a few seconds, it says "Enabled" then disappears. However, the adapter stays disabled in N/W & Sharing center, and isn't picked up by Windows.
I've tried reinstalling the driver through Dell's driver installer, as well as through Windows' automated driver search, and neither works. I also tried to do a System Restore, but that is not working (can't complete on any of the restore points).
I also spent 1.5 hours on the phone with Dell support and their final advice was format and reinstall Windows.
More details:
- I am running Win 7 Pro.
- Wired networking and internet connection works fine
- I have Zone Alarm and Avast Anti virus, and I've tried disabling both to no avail
i have dell M5030 inspiron laptop, I`ve got this problem about 4-5 weeks now , my laptop was working normally , when suddenly my WI-FI item in taskbar disappeared.I tried almost everything till then , system restore, updating drivers, uninstalling/reinstalling even formating my laptop, but still no effect.I read that by clicking ROLL BACK , at the drivers properties , this can be fixed , but my problem is that even ROLL BACK cannot be selected.The Adapter also disappeared at Network Connection Properties now i have only Ethernet adapter there.I also took a screen shot , to make it more clear . But, after installing all of the drivers and system software my Intel ProSet Wireless program still says there is no supported wireless adapter on the computer...I also cannot create a connection when I connected the laptop to my hardline DSL cable.
In addition, the video card driver will not install saying that one or more files needed to complete the install were missing and it closes the install wizard. Just in case any of you can answer that as well.

Previously I used to have the wireless router always close to my laptop, so I never realized this issue. Now the wireless router (802.11n) for Fibre optics internet is in the ground floor and my studio is on 2nd floor. In my office latop, which is a new one, I get 3 out of 5 signal bars and get 34-56 mbps signal. But my Dell laptop does not get any signal, but when it is closer to the router it works fine.

To reinstate here. It is a refurbished notebook. I don't know if that has anything to do with my problem. But there is no wireless on/off switch. And pressing FN and F2 at the same time is not enabling my wireless adapter. Is there any way to enable it? Or could I have a faulty wireless adapter?

Some times it shows connected with 100% signal strength and after few seconds drops out. I cannot find any radio switch on this laptop. Fn/F2 does not work and there is no mention of wireless in the bios settings. I feel that the radio is not switched on but how do I do this?? Is my configuration incorrect?

I have uninstalled the Wireless and Blue Tooth drivers and reinstalled them, but now, it won't even TRY to connect at all. In the bottom right corner, there's a red x over the wireless bars, and says No Connections are available. Before , it would have a spinning circle while trying to connect, but it doesnt have that at all anymore. My Ethernet connection is working fine, I even uninstalled and reinstalled that driver (REALTEK) and its working with no problems.
If I run IPCONFIG, the wireless adapter doesn't even show up anymore. I've tried resetting, disabling, anything I could think of. I tried several versions too of the drivers, but nothing is working. Whenever i boot my machine (sometime from hibernate mode), sometimes WiFi adapter refuses to connect to internet. if i reset WiFi adapter then also it refuses to connect to internet. the only solution i found is to restart entire OS.

Wireless: I'm able to see the networks but, not able to connect to it cant figure out what is stopping it.
Wired: Thinking I should be able to work with wired but it is not working either. I tried turning the wired option off (f2) but that is not working either.
I have looked up and down on the Dell community and already tried to reinstall wireless driver with no luck. I'm at the end of the rope. I need some other options to try to get this working.
It's a Dell Inspiron N4050, running Windows 7 Home Basic, Service Pack 1. I haven't been able to connect to the internet via an ethernet cable nor wirelessly. The wireless indicator is on (duh!) and the ethernet cable works with a PC sitting next to the laptop. I have a ARRIS modem (yes, the third world) and it works fine wirelessly with other devices here such as phones and laptops. When I plug in the ethernet cable it tells me that it can't identify the network. I do see all the wireless connections but it's the same, unable to identify network. I've tired all sorts of things, having studied computer science myself I'm not a total beginner, but the OS is in Spanish so it's really hard to make sense of things. If I can't fix this soon I will be forced to reformat the computer. The pros of doing that is that I will get the OS in English and lose all the rubbish Dell pre-installs on their products. The setback is that I won't have the drivers installed for the NIC and other things (although they should be on the optical disc that came with the notebook). Perhaps the problem is the modem, maybe I need a driver for it. Somehow I don't think that is the case because I brough my own hard drive from my country of origin and I put it inside the PC and it connected instantly with the internet via the modem.

At the bottom of the screen I get the bluetooth icon and the little icon with green tick that comes up when you plug in a usb keeps on flashing. The computer show wireless networks available but the next second they disappear. I have installed the driver from dell website, reinstalled the windows and the driver couple of time but the problem persists.
I tried to locate the driver and the hardware and when I go to Device Manager the list keeps on refreshing every 10 seconds.
Under the device manager Network Adapters I can see Broadcom 440x10/100 Integrated Controller and Microsoft ISATAP Adapter 2 (the later keeps coming and disappearing every 10 seconds)
Under the other devices I see yellow semi colon next to Base Sys Device (3 times) and Network controller.

I recently bought a new Dell Inspiron 7600 pc running on windows 7 home premium and to enable access to our wireless internet I installed a Realtek 8185 wireless pci adaptor. It has worked fine (although not without the occasional blip) but recently it has stopped working. I could connect to our wireless network but connection came with a small exclamation mark on the wireless connection icon in the system tray. Wireless adapter is enabled in BIOS and I have used Fn+F2 to turn off and on wireless device, but still nothing.
Few days ago the wireless in my son's Dell Inspiron 620 went bad. It does connect to my old router (WEP), but speed is terrible and connection goes bad after some time. I can also see my modern router and enter the key successfully (WPA2), but it won't connect. Connection to both routers went well for months before, and still goes well from all other devices in the house.
I read the issue with McAfee that was posted late August and followed the steps. Connection in safe mode didn't work. Then I removed McAfee from the PC, no difference. Then I restored the PC to a couple of days before the issues began, removed McAfee again (as it came back through the restore), no difference.
I reinstalled the drivers of the Dell wireless card, no difference.
