Dell Inspiron 530 / Cannot Switch To Private Network
Oct 3, 2011
Machine is Dell Inspiron 530 windows vista. i cannot get on any network. command prompt just tells me a bogus ip 169.xxx.x.x when i go to the network setting it just keeps saying "identifying" can see anything on the net work. cant ping anything and when ever i try to enable network discovery and switch to private network just give me an error message saying "request is not supported".the machine was infected with "open could security" fake anti spyware program and was removed. used MW bytes and Super Anti. didn't find anything, also used HJT to make sure no process' were running that shouldn't be. made sure the services that were suppose to be running. only one particular one would not start it was called "server" just kept saying it was stopped because it was not being used?
I have an inspiron 1545 that had to be resurrected after a crash. The WiFi worked before I re-loaded windows from the recovery disc, The radio switch indicates it is on but it doesn't seem to find any signals. I am running windows vista sp-2. I am using version mifi2200. If I am overlooking the way to make the WiFi work by getting into a program and having to turn something on or adjusting a setting i am unaware of what to do.
My dell model is dell inspiron 15z. . I have just brought it one month ago. The main issue is that when i have pressed Fn+F2 key to turn on wifi ,the led representing the wifi has been glowing but in network centre it has been showing off .when i have pressed the above key instead of turning on wifi now bluetooth has been turned on. Whether it is software or hardware issue.
i HAve dell inspiron mini A10 every time when i try to connect to wifi its says slide the switch to enable wlan .....but there is no switch on the machine .
Where is wireless on/off switch for Inspiron E1705 with Dell wireless 1500 Draft 802.11n WLAN mini-card? I'm told the wireless card has been turned off. It shows as enabled and working in Devices.
I have just recently bought a Dell inspiron m5030 and after downloading the driver for bluetooth from DELL website and trying to install it a window saying Activate Bluetooth using Wireless Switch is shown. I pressed Fn+F2 but nothing happened.
I have installed wireless 365 bluetooth driver but then of course the pop up says to activate the bluetooth using wireless switch. No dice. When I press the wireless switch I only see my wi-fi connection. I have checked device manager and no bt shows there. Also when I type 'bttray' under the start menu nothing shows up in the search.
Is this laptop even able to support bluetooth? I have searched through many other similar questions and have been unable to find any info on this for the n7010.
BTW: Windows 7, x64... let me know if you need other info.
I have a Dell laptop Inspiron 1545 model PPHL that will not connect to my wireless route. I know the wireless router is working because I call connect to the internet using my Gateway laptop. I'm getting a message that the (Dell) wireless capability switch is turned off. I've been unsuccessfull in my atttempts to turn it on. how to turn the switch on?
Mid-day Thursday one of the laptops in my office suddenly was unable to identify the wireless network.
I have had this problem in the past with the other Dell laptop. Both are Windows 7. Tried uninstalling the adapter 4 times now. Changed SSIDs on my network. Added a SSID. Nothing works.
I am able to identify and get online if I put the IP address and DNS server in. Nothing I do lets it use DHCP.

My laptop is dell inspiron N5010 and I have win 7 64bit home edition , I had a virus called win32.sality or something like that , that made all my program stop working , O downloaded an antivirus , and some message asked me to activate some kind of firewall and I presses ok , the wireless network changed to limited connectivity , I tried to reinstall the wireless driver , nothing happened , later , the available wireless networks disappeared , so I connected the network cable to connect to the internet using ethernet , it didn't work as well , and after many trials with the wireless drive , it's name doesn't appear now in the device manager , it says network adapter and has a yellow ! next to it , there is also something called realtek pcie fe family controller and it also have a yellow ! next to it , so I tried a usb broadband stick to connect to the internet that should have nothing to do with any drives , it said that the connection can't be established
the network troubleshooting sais that there could be a problem with the realtek pcie fe family controller drive , and it used to say before that there is a problem with the (intel ...) which is the wireless adapter (but i don't remember its full name)
I have recently had a Dell Inspiron 1501 come in to my possession and the Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Ethernet will not connect to a tested work wired network. It acts like is you disable a network adapter in windows 7 on a laptop the device is disabled but it is.I have uninstall and reinstalled the Operating System and Drivers several times and these is no change. The Operating System in Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise and there should by no compatibly issues as they are pretty well the same system. The Intergated Broadcom PXE Boot Will not connect to a LAN network either but when I run Dell's Broadcom Diagnostic everything runs fine when operating?

I am using a Wifi router at my home for internet usage and wifi of my laptop(dell Inspiron N5110) keeps disconnecting frequently. I tried many forums and solutions but still this problem is not resolved.
i have a dell inspiron n 4050 and my Wifi device is Dell Wireless 1704 802.11b/g/n (2.4GHz) and everytime i connect to a new wifi internet , my internet logo become a yollow exclamation mark and it's written "Unidentified network " i called my internet provider and he gave me a number to write it in my control panel, but when i went to my collage w connect to the internet , the same thing happened
I have installed a fresh windows xp pro. os and downloaded a list of recommended drivers from Dell's driver page but some of the drivers will not load and I get the error "no Intel adapter on board." I am not sure what to look for at this point. I also downloaded a 32 bit gen adapter from Intel but it wont load. I could use a push in the right direction so I can get back to getting my homework done.
I have not yet confirmed that this is a hardware issue but I'm pretty sure it is. I was suspecting that it was and issue with SP3 or a driver issue however it is doing the same thing always now. It will turn on and detect wireless networks but when I go to connect the connection box simply stays on "waiting for the network" then just stops. No faults or warnings. This happens with any network.
I stopped using the wireless a few months ago when it would randomly disconnect for any network. The thing just would not stay connected. Just used LAN. I have tried several different drivers and even a complete image restore. It really does seem like a hardware issue. Now I can pick up a new card for pretty cheap but I just want to if this is a common problem.
The hard drive on my Dell Inspirion 570 died so I had to install one. I had a 1T drive in an old computer I used as a slave so I installed it. I installed Windows 7 and when I tried to get on line I got a message saying I need to install a network adapter driver.
We have a new Dell Inspiron15R with Windows 7 installed. Our internet provider requires a User ID and password and therefore requires a redirect to their website.
I get a Windows security message recommending I do not allow the redirect (which I can choose and force the redirect). My question is - Is there a setting I can modify to allow this redirect to eliminate the security warning? Our old laptop ran on XP and redirected without any security warning.
bought a new Dell Inspiron 15R laptop online and received it today.
It has Windows 8 preloaded, I am not able to connect to my WiFi network, while I am able to connect using my other devices.
The WiFi network in getting detected and the signal strength is full as well, when I give the password and click connect, it tries to verify and connect for a long time, finally say "Can't connect to this network".
i am trying to connect to internet using area local connection but when plug it in it says connected but when i go to the web using any internet browser it says no internet connection.
I have a Dell inspiron running windows 7 (64) and it connects to the wireless router but doesn't get internet. All of my other devices, including another dell laptop, connect with no problems. I tried connecting it directly with an ethernet cable and it still didn't get internet. I've also tried turning off any firewalls.
Dell Inspiron 1521 w/Vista Home Premium, wlan dell 1390. Adapter does not start at any time if I don't remove battery for a long period, or a shorter period if I depress the on/off button for 15-20 seconds. Works fine if it starts, but when it does not start it does not appear in Device Manager. If I close the lid (sleep) for even a split second the wifi will not come back on because the adapter is not active. The computer does not wake from sleep normally either, but that's been going on from the beginning and the wlan adapter is a new issue (in a long line of issues with this laptop.)
i have a dell inspiron 8600 running windows xp. the issue is it will let me connect to other wireless networks but not mine. i try to connect to mine , i enter my metwork key and it says please wait while windows connects. then after 30 seconds or so the box goes away and under connections mine is listed and says automatic but i am not connected. i have tried everything, even manually setting up network and entering network key and still nothing. oh n i know it isnt my router because i have another laptop connected to this network already and works fine
I have a dell inspiron e1505 with a dell wireless 1390 wlan mini card and I recently used the installation disc that came with the laptop to install a fresh copy of windows xp on an empty partition. I have installed all the latest drivers, also. The problem is that I can connect to my WiFi network but it is stuck on acquiring network address. I have tried releasing and renewing the ip in command prompt, reset winsock, and have mad sure all the correct services are on automatic and are started.
I just bought a brand new Inspiron 15R SE 7520. After a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate (service pack 1) I've visited the Dell Product Support section, entered in my service tag and downloaded all the recommended drivers & applications. Everything works fine on the laptop right now except for one major issue: I can't connect to the internet. The wireless switch is ON, but there's no sign of any wireless networks in the Network and Sharing center or in the system tray icon next to the clock. This is what I see in the device manager:When I double click the Network controller the device status reads:The drivers for this device are not installed. (code 28),I checked this thread which seemed to have a very similar problem to mine, and I updated the bios to Inspiron_7520_A07_BIOS.Next I installed this driver [URL]. After unpacking the latter file (WiFi_Intel_W74_A01_Setup-G6Y8G_ZPE.exe) and running setup.exe I got his error message.
