I just purchased a XPS 8300, and I need to run both the Windows 7 32 bit and 64 bit operating systems due to some legacy software I have that won't install (or run) on the 64 bit Window 7.when I boot to the 32 bit Windows 7 my ethernet drivers are not loaded. Does the ethernet adapter provided supports a 32 bit OS and if so, how I might find and download the drivers for the ethernet adapter?
Here's my internet connection: modem to router (via ethernet), router to desktop (via ethernet). I should have a LAN connection. However, my desktop is on a wireless connection. Diving in further, I notice I do not even have a LAN connection available on the "Change Adapter Settings" screen (see attached photo).
How can I get my LAN connection back? I have tried to download different drivers, but to no avail.
I recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 15R 5521 I put a win7 32bit, but I partially solved installing drivers, pt. wireless fail to install ....; mention that software to install drivers I downloaded from Dell's website, depending on the type of laptop and operating system ... Computer Management mentioned that the warning signs for. Bluetooth Peripheral Device and Network Controller ..
I tried to do a favor for a friend. He has this terrible Dimension 4700c running XP.I went to the dell site and found the Intel driver and also foudn the chipset. The Ethernet Controller still has yellow question mark. I stried to pint the ? to the Unzipped file under C://dell/drivers etc...!
I can't find the latest driver for the Renesas USB 3.0 in the Dell website. I have a Targus USB 3.0 Hub that stopped working and I am told I need to update the Host Controller driver. The driver version I have now is 2.1.27.0 dated 9/13/2011.
Have done fresh install of xp but no driver disk have done all chipset etc in order and all windows updates but wifi card just shows as ethernet controller its an azurewave on the sticker on the card and device manager id is
I can't find the driver for the Network Controller on a Inspiron 1150, I just did a clean installation of WinXP, I used the Dell CD-ROM that came with the piece... I searched every CD that came with the darn thing and I still cant find the driver I need... In the device manager the " Network Controller ", has a question mark by it meaning it doesnt have the driver installed
I reinstalled windows xp (reformatted c). Installed the drivers in this order: Controller, Video, Audio, Network, modem. I selected the drivers that had the check beside them on the driver disk. Now, in the device manager, there is a yellow question mark beside the ethernet card and I can't connect to my broadband connection. Wire is attached... checked that twice. I have connectivity through other computers, so internet is working in the house.
My hard drive crashed. I have finished installing everything on a new drive that I have from my Dell installation CDs. However, in the Device manager, the Ethernet Contoller shows the the drivers are not installed. I can't seem to find them anywhere on the Dell web site.
when I pull the cover off of the computer - the outside of the Ethernet connection says "418D-J51 10/100 BT"
Just got switched to high speed from dial up and lost the driver for the ethernet controller. I've been looking everywhere on the dell site but cannot located the one I need..
I installed a fresh Windows XP Pro on my Optiplex gx270 last week. Everything was fine but now I cannot get an internet connection. I followed all the steps on the dell support web site for the windows reinstall, putting all the drivers on in the correct order, all from my original resource CD. Then downloaded the new recommended driver for my service tag from the dell site, and still no ethernet controller driver is found (a yellow question mark with an exclamation mark on top in windows device manager). Tried a couple of times with the dell online chat, but was disconnected right away. Then spent another 1+ hour on the phone with dell tech support this morning. After uninstalling and reinstalling the same drivers I had previously installed, they apparently had no other suggestions and disconnected me. So I'm left with what was a pretty decent machine that is incapable of connecting to the internet.
my Ethernet driver is not installed on my computer and i am trying to find driver for it so i can use the internet
i have loked at driver on dell website but am unsure what to download i am running XP
proffesional operrating system... i am using another computer to post this question..many of my other device drivers are not installed like display etc
I just formatted my hard drive and installed Windows XP from scratch. I have a Dimension E310. When I looked at the Device driver menu I saw that I didn't have an Ethernet Driver installed. I have looked all over Dells site for the correct one but, can't seem to find it on the list for my Service Tag model. Possibly I don't recognize the drivers terminology as far as the list is concerned?
I have the original Dell Resource instalation disks with various drivers on them but, I can't seem to work out how to use them.
Need Ethernet driver. Inspiron 2200 BFNQV81. Actually need all drivers however I have found some. Dell is very lacking in supporting this unit. The service tag returns a desk-top, and not many drivers. What was listed/installed was incorrect. The unit got stuck on stupid, display reverted back to 400x600, speed problems as well as many other problems. Unit is very slow now however somewhat usable. .Recovery disk would be nice. Currently utilizing external Wifi hardware and software. Have same problem w/ other Dell units.
I've recently been given a new modem from Virgin which is connected by a cat5 cable, however, my PC doesn't find it at all.
There doesn't seem to be a driver on the PC for it, although this may be dowon to the PC having a slight "accident" a few months ago which meant we had to reinstall XP. I don't have the utiliites disc, this wasn't a problem previously as we were able to connect our PC up via USB to the modem.
I have an old PC currently connected to the Internet trying to download the drivers from Dell's support section & tranferring these but this isn't working either.
I recently purchase a refurbished Optiplex GX620 with WXP Professional OS. The ethernet controller, along with number of devices, needs a driver. I have downloaded what I think are the approprite files but get the message that the unzipped file is part of a series of disks and I need to insert the last of this series of disks. I ain't got no stinking disks!
I had to totally reinstall windows Me and all software. Now I cant connect to the internet. I can't find a device driver for the ethernet card. There are 2 devices the manager is not recognizing PCI communication device and PCI Ethernet controller.I don't seem to be able to find an exact type for either.
Where I can find a driver for:WMP54g v2 for Vista SP2 32bit It used to work just fine, until I recently reinstalled Vista (and installed all the updates) and now my internet connection is "limited." This means that it connects, but is extremely slow and the connection goes in and out. Here are some random notes about my problem:
Nothing is disabled, there are not any conflicts, and the problem remains even if I restore the OS back to restore point that I created right after reinstalling Vista (and before doing anything else). If I hook the computer directly up to my netgear router via cable, Windows Update will download and install a more recent version of said driver (no improvement).Other laptops in the house have no problems with the wifi. I have turned off both my cable modem and wifi router several times. The adapter does connect to the internet, and the signal strength is "excellent", but if drill down to the properties of the connection, it says that IPV4 is connected to the internet, but IPV6 is "limited." This then results in a very weak connection to the internet that goes in and out. I have tried unchecking IPV6 per some recommendations, but that did not work. I have tried resetting everything (winsock, etc) via command prompt. Firewall is off, no antivirus software
So my grandpas Dell insperon 6000 crashed and now he cant connect threw a wired connection but he can connect threw a wireless it says the drivers missing i tryed to just reinstall but windows couldnt find it and now idk how to get it to install and also the video controller and vga whatever them are also are missing im not worried about them but i would like the wired connection to work
I recently sent in my Inspiron M5040 laptop in to get repaired because it got severely water damaged and when i got it back i culdnt connect to the internet wirelessly so i tried pluggin in my ethernet cable an that wouldnt work either so i played around with my computer a little bit and saw that my ethernet and network controller drivers weren properly installed. How do i get those two drivers with no internet connect? Is there any way i can get a disk mailed to me with all of the up to date drivers i ned or do i need to ship my laptop back in to dell?
I installed Windows XP Professional SP3 x64. Naturally, the Device Manager informs me of missing drivers with the yellow question mark. I am looking for the driver called "Ethernet Controller".
I have looked under Drivers & Downloads for Dell Precision Workstation T5400 with my service tag <ADMIN NOTE:Service tag removed per privacy policy>. I have installed over 45 drivers but I still can't find the ethernet controller I'm looking for. I'm frustrated because I cannot connect to the internet or use ipconfig without this.
