Finding Ethernet Driver For Dimension 4700c Running XP
Dec 23, 2012
I tried to do a favor for a friend. He has this terrible Dimension 4700c running XP.I went to the dell site and found the Intel driver and also foudn the chipset. The Ethernet Controller still has yellow question mark. I stried to pint the ? to the Unzipped file under C://dell/drivers etc...!
I reinstalled windows xp (reformatted c). Installed the drivers in this order: Controller, Video, Audio, Network, modem. I selected the drivers that had the check beside them on the driver disk. Now, in the device manager, there is a yellow question mark beside the ethernet card and I can't connect to my broadband connection. Wire is attached... checked that twice. I have connectivity through other computers, so internet is working in the house.
My hard drive crashed. I have finished installing everything on a new drive that I have from my Dell installation CDs. However, in the Device manager, the Ethernet Contoller shows the the drivers are not installed. I can't seem to find them anywhere on the Dell web site.
when I pull the cover off of the computer - the outside of the Ethernet connection says "418D-J51 10/100 BT"
I just formatted my hard drive and installed Windows XP from scratch. I have a Dimension E310. When I looked at the Device driver menu I saw that I didn't have an Ethernet Driver installed. I have looked all over Dells site for the correct one but, can't seem to find it on the list for my Service Tag model. Possibly I don't recognize the drivers terminology as far as the list is concerned?
I have the original Dell Resource instalation disks with various drivers on them but, I can't seem to work out how to use them.
I've recently been given a new modem from Virgin which is connected by a cat5 cable, however, my PC doesn't find it at all.
There doesn't seem to be a driver on the PC for it, although this may be dowon to the PC having a slight "accident" a few months ago which meant we had to reinstall XP. I don't have the utiliites disc, this wasn't a problem previously as we were able to connect our PC up via USB to the modem.
I have an old PC currently connected to the Internet trying to download the drivers from Dell's support section & tranferring these but this isn't working either.
I had to totally reinstall windows Me and all software. Now I cant connect to the internet. I can't find a device driver for the ethernet card. There are 2 devices the manager is not recognizing PCI communication device and PCI Ethernet controller.I don't seem to be able to find an exact type for either.
I just purchased a XPS 8300, and I need to run both the Windows 7 32 bit and 64 bit operating systems due to some legacy software I have that won't install (or run) on the 64 bit Window 7.when I boot to the 32 bit Windows 7 my ethernet drivers are not loaded. Does the ethernet adapter provided supports a 32 bit OS and if so, how I might find and download the drivers for the ethernet adapter?
I installed Windows XP Professional SP3 x64. Naturally, the Device Manager informs me of missing drivers with the yellow question mark. I am looking for the driver called "Ethernet Controller".
I have looked under Drivers & Downloads for Dell Precision Workstation T5400 with my service tag <ADMIN NOTE:Service tag removed per privacy policy>. I have installed over 45 drivers but I still can't find the ethernet controller I'm looking for. I'm frustrated because I cannot connect to the internet or use ipconfig without this.
I cant find a network driver that will work. I have a dell dimension 4600 that i am trying to run windows server 2008 on. its original opersting system was xp/sp3 . i simply want to know if there is any working Ethernet driver for windows server.
Well my computer is a Dimension 4550, and i bought it about a year ago. i re-installed the OS for other reasons. I have verizon DSL, and it worked perfectly before the re-installation. after, the connection was working, but I was missing the driver for the "INTEL Pro/100 VE Network Connection". I can't seem to find the driver.
I can't find the latest driver for the Renesas USB 3.0 in the Dell website. I have a Targus USB 3.0 Hub that stopped working and I am told I need to update the Host Controller driver. The driver version I have now is 2.1.27.0 dated 9/13/2011.
I've been searching on linksys's website and was unable to locate the driver for AE1200 (Vista). They still sell the product in their online store, however the support seems to be removed. Where I can locate this? I reinstalled VISTA and require the drivers to have wireless/internet access.
Have done fresh install of xp but no driver disk have done all chipset etc in order and all windows updates but wifi card just shows as ethernet controller its an azurewave on the sticker on the card and device manager id is
I can't find the driver for the Network Controller on a Inspiron 1150, I just did a clean installation of WinXP, I used the Dell CD-ROM that came with the piece... I searched every CD that came with the darn thing and I still cant find the driver I need... In the device manager the " Network Controller ", has a question mark by it meaning it doesnt have the driver installed
I did a fresh install of Windows XP recently on my Dell Dimension 4550 and I'm having trouble getting on the internet. In the Device manager it has the '?' next to Ethernet Controller. I've read the other articles on this site but nothing has worked as of yet.I did another fresh install of XP (2nd time) and then started with the Chipset for Intel, still nothing.
The order for drivers installation says to install the DSS utility first, but I can't seem to find it in the Drivers & Downloads section for my Dimension 4550.
I have the above mentioned WMP54GS. And I just got a Windows 7 capable computer and got it installed. Now I can't find a driver that will work at all. Other than the Broadcom drivers that Windows installs naturally. (The Broadcom drivers are terrible. I play World of Warcraft and when before on my old Vista 64-Bit system I would get around 50 to 60 MS I now get 180 to 200. ) How to get this to work.
I'm looking for Ethernet Controller and Network Controller for Toshiba Satellite L655D-S5164 running on Windows 7 32bit and 64bit on two different laptops. Also, i tried to downgrade to Windows XP and every time the cd boots it gives me blue screen of death.

I need to a run an Ethernet network between 2 buildings 1000ft apart. The buildings are in a forest so I don't think wireless is possible. What kind of cable can I run between the two buildings and what type of adapters do I need on each side?
My pc is windows xp an has service pack 3, the adaptor is realtek RTL8168/8111 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC. I have 3 gig of memory and a very larg nvidia card. OK my pc has worked absolutely fine until this weekend when my sister came and her son was on my pc when everyone was in bed. He attempted to print of not less than 88!! pictures he had acquired from different sites but i had disconnected the printer so it didnt take place. When they left earlier today i switched on my pc and there was a virus alert so i ran a scan. These got put into the chest. I then attemtpted to close down the programmes that had come back up when i switched on and this is when it happened. The pc told me it was going to shut down and when it restarted i had not internet connection. I checked the modem and the ethernet light is out.
Because of a virus, I recently had to reinstall Windows 7 on my laptop. Upon restarting, I found out that I cannot connect to the Internet using a wired connection (Ethernet cable). I tried going in the Device manager to try and troubleshoot the Network Adapters, but the only object in that category was "Intel (R) WiFi Link 5300 AGN". In a lower category, "Other Devices", I see two "Base System Device", one "Unknown Device" and one "Ethernet Controller", all of them with little yellow exclamation marks on the icon. I guessed the problem was the Ethernet Controller, so I tried "Update Driver...". It told me that it could not find a driver for my device.
i recently dual booted to 32bit to run a video game and on my 64 bit i have 2 network drivers working 1 of them which works on my 32 bit is a DW1525 WLAN PCIe Card and that works fine on both systems. now on the 32 bit it says ethernet controller and i try to update it and it says cannot find anything.. is there a way i can just move the driver from 64bit to 32bit.. what should i do?also when on 64bit the ethernet controller name is broadcom netlink gigabit ethernet
Made a big mistake - Installed 64 bit Win7 professional on new HP that had 64 bit Win7 Home premium on it. Computer was a gift, bought as the last one available and was a demo model from Sam's club. Had no idea the ethernet card driver and the wireless software drivers would be lost, but they were, as was the driver for the USB hub. (Used an HP OEM disk purchased on line from Mountain software.)Where to get these drivers, and which ones do I need?
I Have A emachine with windows 7 and we had a storm and now i cant get on line so had a tec come to my house and he said my ethernet driver was not there i need to know how to burn one so i can put it back so i can get online?
