View 3 Replies View RelatedThis is terminating on an ASA c5510 sec+ running 8.3(2) Client devices running XP with the same VPN client get an address from the ASA pool e.g. 10.10.50.1 with no default gateway. Users are able to connect without a problem. Windows 7 (32bit) clients with this same VPN client get this address but get a default gateway 10.10.50.2 and are unable to connect for obvious reasons.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI replaced a similar router from a competing company with the AC900 N900 router. I open Live Mail (IMAP) and keep it open during the day. Since switching over, when I periodically look at email on Live Mail, I frequently get a "Windows Live Mail" message saying "Your server unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity." I have never received this message from either one of the previous routers - LinkSys, Netgear.

Client is having 1 file server running small business windows server 2003. Server is not configured with domain, it is working only on workgroup. We have around 15 users who are using that server as file server only. Now my main question is do i need to configure DNS server in that server?we also have internet connection running (have problem in that also, will explain next time) with wireless router to connected with switch. So do I need to setup dns in server also or just put static ip (I prefer static then dhcp) & dns server from ip will be ok? If I put dns which I got from ISP, so will it create any problem with using those file from server?the second question is..
What IP address, Default gateway and dns address I should use for Server & also client pc.
router ip - 192.168.1.1
server ip - 192.168.1.10
Currently no DNS setupcurrent configuration - Server
IP - 192.168.1.10
subnet- 255.255.255.0
gateway - 192.168.1.1
dns - 213.42.20.20 (from ISP)
dns2 - xxx.xx.xx.xx (from ISP)current configuration - Client
IP - 192168.1.111(to 115)
subnet - 255.255.255.0
gateway - 192.168.1.1
dns 1 - 192.168.1.10 (File Server)
dns 2 - 213.42.20.20 (from ISP)

View 1 Replies View Relatedis it possible for a client to choose a WAN to use when being routed through a Multi-WAN router? Something that could be configured as default route in linux or default gateway in winxp ?Or is this decision totally up to the router itself ? [code] Could now a client on the subnet 192.168.0.0/24 choose 1.1.1.1 as a default route for example? And if not, could this be possible if the router hat some secondary internal IPs for both WAN interfaces.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a dedicated server "out there".They dont provide any OS media to install and use your licence key (obviously).I have a licence and my own DVD/ISO. I can use that, its not a problem. The issue is, I do have IP KVM/IPMI (I think that is what its called) and I can install the OS through that and mount the ISO. Problem is that it will take literally forever to install because my net connection is very poor (< 1MB upload)Is there a faster way to install Windows over the web in this situation? How can I make it "better" in this circumstance?now should I ever get the OS installed in this way, in future if I need to unfortunately wipe and start again, how can I make it a more quick process?

I have the recovery disk for the desktop which is Vista 64bit home premium SP1.Can I or can I not use the laptop to reinstall Vista on my desktop?I've found this question asked countless times in countless forums but also countless answers that do not answer the question for a person that is not a computer engineer.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi am experiencing some sort of issue with my Ethernet Controller. About an hour ago i had run a diagnostic report, (using my Norton 360 security program) while i scrolled down the report i came across an orange attention bubble that read "Inoperable Hardware Devices" then a chart lists hardware devices that aren't working, it looked like this:
Data Type Device Problem/ Description
-Device Type -Ethernet Controller
- Device Status -Device Drivers are not installed
(Code 28).
i tried to update the device but it doesn't work, it says that "windows was unable to install Ethernet Controller, ...Windows could not find driver software for your device"
I installed w8 2 hours ago. I just hate they messed with evething but that is not the problem. Aftyer that I haven't beeb able to connect to Virgin broadband. I have to use a donle because my pc has not a wireless adapter. After installation it looks the dongle don't work because not lights come out of it (always b4 there was a light). I talk to someone on the phone but couldn't resolve the problem. They are just going to send a new one. At the moment I'm using 3 mobile wich I cancelled in favour of Virgin wich is not really so good. The is up to 60 Mb but it never goes over 10 MB.

When I look in device manager, there is a yellow question mark next to Ethernet Controller (along with some other devices). I have identified that I have a Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet Controller (don't know the term for exactly what I am looking to find drivers for, is it just the "ethernet chip"? or "ethernet controller?"). It is a BCM5754 (VEN_14E4 DEV_167A). I am running Windows XP home sp3, which I updated to from sp1 via USB. How do I install drivers to get onto the internet?
