I have a 1Tb Iomega home media network drive. It normally connects via the network to all my machines (iMac osx, eee pc W7, ubuntu 10). But, something has happened, so now I can see the folders on the network drive but when I click on it (photos, videos etc), it says Windows cannot access \Iomega-0E10FDmovies
Error code: 0x80070043
The network name cannot be found
I have tried disabling the firewall in the router and the W7 eee pc, but nothing has worked.
I have a Iomega Prestige hard drive of 2TB connected to my Linksys E3000 router.I have logged into the router with an admin account, yet I am unable to delete most files. When I try to delete something I get the following error. When I click "Try Again" the file seems to be gone, but it has actually just become invisible, it's still there.I've tried to use Take Ownership, but that just gives an error "Access denied"according to the router settings I should have read and write permissions. When I connect the drive directly to my PC there are no issues.
So I am on my second HDD with Iomega. I am thinking now that this is a router problem rather than a HDD problem. I have a 1TB Iomega home media network drive, eversince I bought my router and began using it I have been unable to use my HDD. It is hard wired to the router via RJ-45 cable and both units have been reset and powered up in about every order you can imagine. I have reset factory defaults on the router and made security changes to ensure there was nothing blocking that port. I am at wits end. I cannot connect to the HDD and the drive flashes yellow and blue indicating it cannot estabilsh or receive an IP address from the router.
I'm trying to set up an Iomega Home Media Network Cloud NAS and I'm having problems with opening ports 50500-50599. I have opened port 80 and 443 successfully and included the above port range above as well, but when I check it on www.yougetsignal.com the ports 50500-50599 are still closed. I even tried to split the range in two parts, and still no success. I have been in contact with my ISP and confirmed they do not block any ports in the 50500-50599 range and that the cable modem (a Motorola SBV5120) is operating in Bridge Mode.
I used to have an old G5 tower running OS X 10.5 (Leopard) which I was using as a file server. In this tower I had a USB dock connected where I could plug in 2.5 inch drives from my archive and then access them over the network by connecting to the G5.
Last week I upgraded my "fileserver" and I am running OS X Mountain Lion Server on a regular Mac Pro tower. When I connect to my new fileserver via Finder I am only able to see the local hard drives but none of the external ones. I can add a share-point for the external drives but that is not very practical since I am always connecting different drives from the archive.
So what I would like to have is that when I plug in an external drive to my file server it shows up in the network shares without me having to create a share-point for every different drive I connect.
I had an Iomega 1TB External Hard Drive connected to my E4200 router. I had shares confgured and they were properly running on the network.
As of yesterday, this all stopped working. The router does not see the drive; it is as though it is not plugged in.
I rebooted the router and it still does not work. I've connected the hard drive directly to my PC to verify that it works there, and it does. The router is running Ver.1.0.03 (Build 14) of firmware (the latest).
How do I combine two (or more) physical drives into one on an XP based machine? I have an older machine I want to essentially use as a NAS type device over my home network to stream content from, but want all the installed drives to essentially be "merged" together to show as just one if possible. I think its sometimes referred to as "disk pooling". I have XP Pro available to install so maybe this has something built-in that can easily handle this task. It also needs to be done on an XP based machine (not Linux) due to some other specialized software that will be running on it for another reason and is for XP only. Basically, any suggestions on how to have some sort of 'disk pooling' for 2+ drives on an XP machine? Can it simply be done within XP Pro? Or maybe there is some sort of free software out there that can handle this. This machine currently doesn't have any important data on it so experimenting and wiping something out can be done if needed.
A visitor wants to use his laptop but I don't know the security code to get his computer to operate on my network. How do find that code and put it on my flash drive??
One of my Laptop, I cannot see the Network Share Drive from My Network Place. I am using DNS320 Dlink. But I can ping and I can access web base go inside Network Share drive management. But when I try to ma \sharedrivenamefolder, "Error code 0x80070035 Network path was not found ". I already restart the network drive, router and this computer also cannot. Last time we using vbscript to set at startup and let it map automatically when window boot up every day. Other PC with XP all can access. I cannot upgrade vista to 7 because it's from remote site. But now why cannot I don't know what happen with Fuzzy Vista home.
I have a question about my windows systems(XP and Vista) re-connecting to my network folders when my computers restart. I have some shared network folders on my Synology DS410. And then i mapped a network drive to use those folders. But every time i restart my computer i get the message "cannot reconncet all network drives"I have to put in my username and password everytime. I choose Remember login and password. How can i fix this so it automatically connects to these on restart?
FYI... 1 computer - Windows Vista Home Premium 1 computer - Windows XP Home Both connected via wired LAN
My iSCSI drives connect just fine on restart. Just not my mapped network folders.
I have tried Intel tools and latest drivers ( w/ and w/o pro wireless utility) but cannot pass thru code 10 error. Tried uninstall and install....as earlier card 4965 agn worked fine but seems like some conflict is stopping successful 5300 agn driver install.
there is one 1.desktop with windows7 professional and one 2.laptop with windows7 ultimate both are attach with cross cable no1 desktop's IP is 192.168.0.1 and second 2.laptop's IP is 192.168.0.2. the problem is that no1 can access files and folder from no2. but in same way when no2 is trying to access his shared drive he is unable to access
Above Error code was already mentioned in a thread from Nov. 2010, which is closed.URL: Network Error Code: 0x80070005 Tried same change in regedit, rebooted my Vista pc, but it gave no result overhere.Have network with 3 pc's(2x XP, 1x Vista); on drive E of a XP machine one map can be reached, another is unreachable, while getting the error code 0x80070005.
I have a Western Digital 500GB external hard drive and I want to know how can I share this particular drive throughout my house?Currently, it's connected via USB on my Windows 7 Ultimate desktop computer. In the medium term, I will consider getting an wireless router that has a USB port on it - so that way, I won't need to have my Windows 7 desktop computer to be on all the time - just to share my external hard drive.I also plugged in this particular external hard drive on APC backup UPS - so that way, if the power goes out - I can safely shutdown my system - until the power goes back on.As for the wireless router, I currently have the Linksys E2500 dual-band wireless N router - to share my computers with a single internet connection via Cable TV. how do I share my external hard drive on my network. What are your other suggestions on the best way to share an external hard drive?
Having problem locating why when a user logs on to their profile, their personal network drive shows everyones personal drive file and they have acces to all files. This is a major security concern as uppper management files are then accessable. It is random, may not always be displayed, or always occur on the same user. The User drive normally displays.
joed on \serverusers$ (H:)
When this takes place the users name is replaced with just Users Users on \serverusers$ (H:) (This can sometimes change to Z drive) This then exposes all user drives. This does not run from a script but is used in AD under the profile drive letter. Have tried to:Rebuild profile in Active Directory. (New Profile)Re Build user profile on workstation>Rebuild Operating system on Workstation.Change drive on the user profile in AD letter H to Z.Have also tried on a different workstation.
I'm trying to share my drive thats on my desktop PC to my Netbook. But I want it to show up on my netbook like a local disk drive. Is this possible? Would I need a software for this and if so which one?
Im having this problem at work where im trying to map my folders within our server, i used to be able to do so but as if out of nowhere i couldn't do so anymore, our network support said everything is fine with our server and the problem is probably something with my laptop.
Im using a laptop with windows 7 Home Premium 64bits
My network adapters are:
Intel Centrino Ultimate - N6300 AGN
Intel 82577LC Gigabit Network Connection
Im able to ping my server just fine, left only one of these microsoft 6to4 adapters, tried turning off my AVG and Firewall, sharing devices and printers is enabled, Netbios is enabled.
Oh, and my antivirus is AVG free.

On my home LAN I have computers running Ubuntu 10.10, Win XP, Win7 32 bit and Win 7 64 bit, as well as an Iomega Home Network Media Drive. I can share files and folders between Ubuntu and XP without problem. I can CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) to the Iomega device from all the computers. I can share folders when using the 64-bit Win 7 computer that are located on the XP computer.
I can see the 'users/Public' folder on the 64bit Win 7 computer from the XP computer (but that folder being empty, this access is not a lot of use - a secondary probelm). I cannot see my 'user name' files/folders on the Win 7 computer from the XP computer
From Computer, Network on the Win 7 computer I can see the Ubuntu computer by name (approximately - it's all in upper case, which is not correct as far as Ubuntu is concerned).
I cannot access files on the Ubuntu computer via its name - I receive the usual 'network path not found' error, inviting me to check the spelling of the computer, which I can see is wrong, but which I can find no way to correct.
If I try to access the Ubuntu computer by IP address, then I am presented with an 'Enter Network Password' panel. I have never allocated a network password, so I have no idea what user name or password to enter here. If I enter my valid account name forthe Win 7 machine, along with its valid password, then a Logon failure is reported: 'unknown user name or bad password'. If I use the single valid user name and password for the target Ubuntu computer, I receive the same failure message. I thought I had set the same user name on both computers (I certainly have the same password), but for reasons best known to Bill Gates, the username on the Win 7 computer has been initially capitalised, making it absolutely not the same as any valid user name on the Ubuntu computer.
So, in short, I can find no way to access the Ubuntu computer from Win 7. Further more the Ubuntu computer cannot see the Win 7 computer in the windows network at all.
I have the same internet security software (Comodo) running on all Windows computers. It is enabled on the XP computer. It is disabled on the Win 7 computer - but with no effect on the failure to connect.
I accidentally created a home network and want to remove it, as it blocks all my wireless devices.
I have a dir655 with 2.o firmware
Os on computer I set it up on is win 7 64 bit
How to make other wireless devices easily recognize it? when I try to access it the wireless computers ask me for code that I entered on setup that was printed on bottom of router but system doesn't recognize it.
I thought I would leave a message on a problem. I did two chats to the support desk and this was not brought up and it is obvious. I just installed the 4200v2 as a replacement for a NetGear. I bought for the n performance and the USB for a shared disk/media file server. I connected a640G Western Digital My Book to the USB. I was able to see the drive in the asp interface of the router, but I kept getting the "error code: 0x80070035 network path not found" message. My computer is a 6 month old HP with Windows 7 running Bitdefender Internet. I found I could get to the drive from my wife's Toshiba (only used for browsing, so minimal security), so I thought it was a firewall issue (also what Cisco said). After doing some Internet mining, I found that the issue is the Netbios setting in IPv4. My PC had the setting Default, which requires the DHCP server to provide the setting and apparently this was not set by the 4200. Without Netbios the disk cannot be mapped. Changing this to NetBios "enabled" solved the problem. This can be reached by going into the Control panel:Network and Sharing Center. Click on the connection (either local area or wireless), then open the properties, click on the TCPv4, Click properties, then advanced. Go to the Win tab and select Netbios enabled.
If I want to access my work files and folders from home for free, what I will have to set up. I know about VPN but it costs money. I know about remote desktop also, but I don't prefer this. I just want to access files in my computer like a local network, or at least I should be able to download and view the files and folders as in FTP.
I have a windows 7 desktop with an SSD and regular mechanical hard drive where I keep my data. I also have a laptop with a small SSD as well. I wanted to keep the laptop free of non-critical data so I decided to setup a file share between my desktop (Windows 7 home prem) and my laptop (Windows 7 pro). I was able share the files and navigate to my desktop through my laptop. I successfully mapped the folder as a network drive and all was well. Then I rebooted and I was disconnected from it, it remembered that it was there but I needed to manually connect to it and I needed to provide my login credentials. There is no password just a username.
What is causing this and is there a way to get around this? Also is there a way to set a timeout because if my desktop is not on and I want to use my laptop, the boot times are much longer compared to when I don't have the mapped network drive on my laptop at all.
Neighbor agreed to let me use his WiFi connection only if it requires no changes or disruptions on his side. His signal is broadcast with a wireless router. I can currently see his signal broadcast on my laptop, but it's very weak.I have a omnidirectional antennae already mounted outside my house with a clear sight of view. It has a cable attached to it that terminates with a N connector inside my building.I need to connect to his signal (there are several being broadcast in the area) and then forward it to my router. My router will then provide connectivity to my home network. What hardware do I need between the outdoor omnidirectional antennae (that terminates with a N connector) and the wireless router inside my building?
I have a fairly simple wireless home network. My main desktop machine is running XP Pro, and our family laptop is running XP Home. The laptop shares the My Documents folder for 2 of the 3 profiles. One of them works as it should. It is visible and accessible on the main desktop machine, but the other share is visible but NOT accessible. I get the following error message when I try to explore it from the main desktop machine:
<the share name> is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.
Access is denied.
I'm not sure when this started, but remember that the other folder being shared is working just fine. I've double and triple checked the settings, share names, and basically anything I could possibly mistype. I've restarted both PCs, and refreshed the network explorer via both the file explorer and My Computer dialog. The My Computer dialog refresh the shares for some reason that the explorer wouldn't, but I'm still denied access to that one share on the laptop.
I have several computers wirelessly connected through a "LevelOne" access pont. I connected network Peripherals as follows.(router/switch/access point/PC-01 or PC-02)one access point connected with 4 PCs with one usb printer.this printer connected with one pc.4 pcs are in same home group. They were worked well before, but now the computers cannot ping each other. Many time clint pc can't connect to server pc (Printer attached pc).rinter shows offline.advanced sharing settings are normal as microsoft. Firewall disabled.
