Mar 15, 2009i'm facing a big problem with my access point WAG54G ver 2.0 ,i just bought it from 2 days but i find alot of problems when i start using it ,i have read all the user guide and the quick install to see how to setup the access point and make it work with my adsl.i have configured all things right using PPPOE and putting my user name and password and then save settings then go to the status and press on connect , but it don't connect with me just i find connecting and adsl link : Down and still making connecting and nothing after that and my adsl led is off haven't any colors ,and when i get again to basic setup i found the password that i put it in the ppoe login is too long , not my password i tried to see what is this password and recover the hidden i found it " d6nw5vlx2pc7st9m ".i don't know what is the problem i tried alot of times to change setting and also the same problem.i think that it's a frim ware problem and i tried install a new updated frimware but everytime trying to install it get installing and suddenly stoped and white page appeard and all the access point is stopping and when restart it the ac power.

Nov 24, 2008I just purchased a WAG54G2, setup was simple and easy. After being on for about 16 hours if I login to the device all the settings appear to have been reset to default, although the access point and wireless are still working. After another few hours the internet access stops and device appears to have been reset. No power spikes or reliability problems with power. Contacted Linksys support on three different occasions and they don't have any suggestions that work. Tried a "hard reset" but problem still occurs. No firmware upgrades are available for this device.

Sep 6, 2011I have spent most of the weekend trying to get this router to act as a proper Access Point.
When it does work (Stay connected) speeds and latency are rotten. If I go back to Routing Mode this thing kicks butt, but I isolate all devices attached to a different subnet and trying to set up proper routes has proved imposable. Firmware 1.0.2 r 13
The online help stated to connect to the "internet interface" when in Bridge Mode DHCP Server Is not broadcasting to on the wireless or wired interfaces.
If I used the wired interface as the uplink I can broadcast the DHCP to any device on wired but again nothing to the Wireless. When I "Show Routing Table" I see two static routes pointing to the ATT router for the Wired/Wireless Interfaces.. 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 (my Gateway) Wired/Wireless (my Gateway) 255.255.255.0 0.0.0. Wired/Wireless
AP mode should only be working in Broadcast. By connecting the Wired Interfaces alone up to my switched network should not use the router at all. If you force all traffic to my router all traffic has to be inspected by the firewall You create a bottleneck my router interface is 10/100.

Jan 27, 2010I have a WAG54G2 annex b and have a problem with the settings. The problem keeps emerging although I upgraded the firmware from 1.10 to 1.17.In details, almost once every day it keeps losing the settings, and although is is connected (I can browse web pages) the internet light is off, and in the admin page I can't see any settings at all. The language settings are lost, the wireless seems to be enabled, the connection settings don't show up, I can't see username/password/ip/dns and all my security restriciotns are lost. And i can't restore them until i reboot the modem, in which case everything is back like nothing has happened.

Cisco setup (love it!) but the simple setup gives the E1200 an ip range starting at 192.168.1.1 while the Cisco 880 range is 192.168.185.113. I need to have all connections in the same ip rage (192.168.185.xxx) for remote monitoring. What is the best way to accomplish this? Bridge mode (I don't need Guest Mode which I read is not possible in bridge mode)? Disable DHCP on the E1200?

I then added three new ones: VPN, VPN1, and VPN2 VPN; Internal Port:500; External Port 500; Protocol:UDP; IP:192.168.1.47; Enabled Yes VPN1; Internal Port:4500; External Port 4500; Protocol:UDP; IP:192.168.1.50; Enabled Yes VPN2; Internal Port:10000; External Port 10000; Protocol:UDP; IP:192.168.1.51; Enabled Yes
These changes have not worked but I not yet removed them. My company uses 'Delta VPN' product. No other changes to parameters have been made before or after.

May 30, 2011I happened to update firmware version of my WAG54G2 to the latest version 1.xx.xx.19. Since then connection to internet has became erratic. If rebooted, the device mostly doesn't connect. Switching to PPPoE from PPPoA and vice versa works but i have to do it every time the device is rebooted. Sometimes even that doesn't work. Basically it acts random. DSL connection shows as connected, but the internet interface is mostly down. I was wondering if i can switch back to to old 1.xx.xx.10 version. It never gave me any trouble ever for around 2 years.

May 2, 2011My internet connection seems to drop a lot, I'm using a WAG54G2 modem connecting via a wired connection; and my ISP is Iprimus and I'm running off an Adsl2+ connection.The light on the modem that goes out when I lose connection is usually the internet although sometimes it is the DSL light, when my connection drops out I also seem to lose speed when I reconnect, which I was able to fix by pulling the power plug out and putting it back in but it no longer works as often.
The top speed I have measured via 9url]... has been 350 kb/s and the lowest has been 12 kb/s.My phone line also has a loud crackly sound which goes away when I unplug my modem from the line.I used to be able to unplug my phone line to keep the connection up but that no longer works.
This problem is not consistent as I will have days when it is bad (slow connection speed and constant connection dropping) and days when it is alright (decent connection speed and hardly or no connection dropping).I am also running a few filters for my phone, I've tried taking the filters out but that doesn't fix it, I've tried unplugging the phone which used to work as I mentioned before but no longer does.Before I bought this modem I can't remember what I was using but that had history with locking out the connection which by replacing the modem fixed my bad connection for a 5-7 months.

Nov 22, 2010I've been using the WAG54G2 for some time now, recently I set up a range extender and had some issues so one thing I tried was to upgrade the firmware. It was very unclear on this website where to find it (specifically for the G2). I went here but there were 2 files, Annex A or B? [irl].... The instructions are also very unclear on this. But more frustratingly the zip file just contains an ".img" file - no ".bin" as the instructions say. So i tried the manual firmware upgrade using this file and shortly after the message "...whatever you do - do not close the browser or restart the router during the upgrade..." (or similar) the router crashed, so I had to restart it and the browser. Now I think I may have introduced an error as the once perfectly-performing router occasionally drops the internet connection for a few minutes. With my work I need 100% uptime.
