Linksys Wireless Router :: Cannot Connect To E1000
Mar 26, 2012
I own a E1000 router that I use with several wireless machines. Unfortunately, I cannot connect to the configuration of the router by typing url...in a browser, be it wireless or weirdly. For example, Firefox displays "Connection has been reinitialized". Furthermore, when I launch Cisco Connect, it only shows the error "Unable to connect to router". I tried to switch my router off and on, but that doesn't work. Totally resetting the router solves the problem, but not definitely. Is there a solution that does not require resetting my router?
When I connect my modem directly to my computer (modem > computer) it works just fine, internet connects and everything through the direct ethernet connection. But when I connect the modem to the router and then try to connect wireless with any other computer (modem > router > wireless) nothing works. Not even when I have it connected directly from the router to the ethernet on the main computer. (Which has ALWAYS worked until now.
However, my 13" Macbook (running Lion) sometimes finds if hard to connect after I turn it on. I will have to continously turn off and on the wifi of the macbook to have it force to look at wifi networks. It will not be able to see also other wifi networks which are present in my neighbors which my windows 7 and other machines can see. After playing around with it I found that the macbook will connect to wifi only after I connect it momentarily via cable. I do this everytime I turn on my macbook.I just upgraded to a Macbook Pro running on Lion and the same thing happened. I tried the same solution of connecting first via cable but to my disappointment, would not see any wifi network including my neighbor's which again the other machines can see. So I am stuck with using cable for now.
My e1000 was working fine until it was accidentally unplugged. Now it doesn't work. I downloaded the set up program from the site and tried to run it, but it does not recognize an internet connection when I have the modem connected to the router and the router connected to the PC. The internet works when I connect the modem directly to the PC. I have unplugged everything and restarted the PC several times and tried running the software again, but no dice.
Just got the new Linksys E1000, and follow the Cisco Connect to setup. No IP received from the service provider (which is Fibre-to-the-building, no modem is required). Goto the setup page and confirmed that the connection type is "DHCP".Once i unplug the cable from E1000 (internet port) and plug into my old wireless router, everything work nicely. The internet connection & cable itself seems fine. Switch the cable into notebook, and get the IP as well, it seems the service provider didn't lock the mac address of the devices (routuer nor PC). Cloned the mac address but nothing improved.Tried release the IP before unplug from the old router, switch off old router, and wait 10mins before connected to E1000 but still no luck.
when i go on my iphone and click on the wirless network i just set up, it does not ask me for a password. instead i get a screen titled "IP Address" with three buttons below (dhcp, bootp, and static) with a list of blanks for ip address, subnet mask, router, dns, etc. below that.
I have a new Linksys E1000, and I would like to connect my HP 2035 Laserjet to the router, avoiding connecting it directly to my desktop (wired to the router) or my laptop (wireless). When I connect the Ethernet cable to the printer and the router? Both PCs are running XP, and the printer was connected to the laptop before I got the wireless router.
I just installed my Linksys E1000 and it seemed really easy. I allows the Guest Option, named the Network and put in a network Password. When I try to connect the phone, I don't get the screen on the phone that asks for the PW. I can connect as a guest, but it does connect with out even asking the guest password.
I currently have an E1000 connected to my cable modem in my living room. It provides wireless access to my whole household.
I have a set of computers I want to have set up as a lab on their own router and have a WRT54GS available for me to modify.
The WRT is in the dining room (office) and the cable modem/E1000 are about 45 feet away.
I want to set up the wireless environment on the E1000 as 192.168.1.1-24 and the wired network as 192.168.2.1-24 with the wired network being able to wirelessly connect to the wired so all the machines in the house can see my server and other machines.
I own an E1000. It is hooked up to a Motorola cable modem via Comcast. I have a personal website sohebvahora.com (still under construction) where I use cpanel to administer it. I somehow lost all connectivity to my website midday and have not been able to connect back to it in a few days. Every other site I have gone to works except mine. It doesn't make sense. Also, I tried connecting my laptop directly to the Motorola modem and my personal site loads, so it has to be the router. I have tried different devices connected to the router as well, like my ipad, iphone, and other laptops, but the website doesnt load on them either
E1000. Setup Acer laptop with router and it is working fine. However I do not have Cisco Connect on the computer. I would like to use it to connect other devices etc.
I have a Cisco E1000 wireless N router. It is working fine. I have just completed wiping my HD and reinstalling WinXP and other software. But I also need Cisco Connect. It appears the only way to get it installed is to run the Cisco Setup program. But since the router is working fine, I don't want to mess with the setup. Is there any way to get Cisco Connect by download? Or get it off my install CD without running the setup program?
I recently bought a new router but I'm having issues with it. We have 2 Laptops in our house and 1 (windows 7) can connect to the router and get internet access but the other (windows vista) can't it says that the Cisco router is not connected to the internet but it is. I've tried everything, resetting, reprogramming, etc. I recently found that the windows 7 one had the software installed and the windows vista didn't. What I need is to get that software but I need to know which version to get. How do I know which version of the software goes with my computer?
The printer seems to recognize the wifi but won't connect, even tho I am following instructions to hold down the WPS key before clicking "OK" on the printer.
1. I set a router admin password different from WiFi password(passphrase).
2. I run my Cisco Connect app and it asks me to change my router admin password. If I don't change it - I can not use Cisco Connect app. If I provide my WiFi password then it changes my router admin password.
Maybe it was done to have a "simple" solution - 1 password for everything. But maybe its a bug because router admin password should be different from WiFi password fro security reasons.
Connected my Dell laptop to the E1000 using the enclosed disk, easy install and no problems with wireless connection. Created a USB via the install disk to connect the Dell desktop (XP pro SP3). When running installing received error pop up "installation not compete" contact Linksys support for assistance. Disabled all internet connections and tried a manual installation but failed. Should I just purchase a wireless USB addapter?
i have my E1000 network detected by laptop and devices but can't connect to Internet. The E1000 is connected to Cisco 2100 modem and I can connect to Internet if I plug my laptop/PC directly to Cisco 2100 modem.
I just bought a E1000 and connected it to my cable modem. I can connect to the internet with my wired PC and wired Xbox 360 with no problems. For some reason on my wireless laptop I can only connect to the internet by the Guest connection. When I connect to the regular router SSID I get local only access, no internet.
We originally set up Cisco Connect with our E1000 Lynksys Router on a laptop- that has since died. So- I wanted to set up the software on our desktop and so I put in the set-up disk. I keep getting message "We didn't find your router" even though I now have the computer linked directly by ethernet cable. I do have connectivity to internet which I set up using my "Easy set-up key" and have a strong signal. Can't get past the first router step on the set-up disk to install the program- so now do not have Cisco Connect on any computer.
I have a blog and website hosted by X9 Hosting. I am unable to connect to cPanel, the website, the blog, or and X9 sites. This began when saving a WordPress article in the blog. The save hung and then all connectivity through the router was lost. When using the modem (wired) I can visit the above sites. what do I need to do to gain wireless connectivity back?
My modem CAN connect to the Internet but my router CANNOT. I've called my ISP (Brighthouse) and went through a whole process of bypassing the router, restarting the modem for 2 minutes, and restarting the router for 30 seconds. Then I even got assistance from the router's maker (Linksys) by switching the IP address of the router, they said this could be the issue if my modem had the same IP address. I switched it to 192.168.2.1, but still no luck. I do not know what to do now. The new router is a Linksys E1000. I haven't got the specs of my modem yet.
I've got a problem with my Linksys E1000 router. When I bought it, it worked without trouble. Setup was easy and straight forward and I was able to connect all my wireless devices (2 latops, a mobile) without any problem. Then, after two months or so, I noticed the laptops were losing internet connection (or not finding the wireless network on start up). Rebooting the router seemed to work the first couple of times to restore the wireless connections, but after a few more days, the wireless network either shows up and the devices are unable to connect to it OR the wireless network does not appear in the network list. However, the wired connection to my desktop PC via ethernet cable has no issues at all. My conclusion is that these wireless routers (E1000) have a defect in the radio card.
One day I got a blue screen saying there was a hardware or driver failure with the network adapter on the motherboard. I couldn't resolve the problem so I went out and got a new network adaptor. Pluged it in, windows found drivers for it. But I was getting a Unidentified network problem.I have a Linksys E1000 router, internet works on my laptop and xbox360 fine wired and wireless. So I changed ports on the router, changed cables, even changed routers. Still the PC wasn't seeing the router. So I download the latest drivers for the Realtek network adapter, install them, still nothing. So I thought maybe the router is to blame, downloaded the latest firmware and flashed it onto the router, reset it. Still the same. At this point I was sure the new network card was faulty. So I took the computer to the shop where i bought the card. He disabled the old network adapter in the bios. And he had the Internet up and running in the shop. I was happy and took it home... Still the same problem! Rang ISP done a lot of disabling, enabling, static IP no fix... except he told me to bypass the router and try plugging the PC directly to the modem, and that connects fine. I can get internet from the modem, but not through the router, yet everything else works fine though the router. As I said cables and ports in the router have all been changed and checked. When I do the network diagnostics in windows 7 is says, does not have a valid IP configuration.
I need to setup my Aironet 1231 to connect some remote computers to a Cisco home wifi unit wirelessly. Here is what I need:
CiscoLinksys E1000 provides my wireless Internet connection in building A ----> Cisco Airnet 1231 is in building B and cat5 cable cannot be run between the buildings. Building B can see building A's wifi signal but only on one side. I need to provide wifi Internet to the entire B building. ---> Cisco 3550 PoE switch ----> another Areonet 1231 ---> Laptops via wifi.
My guest can't use my wireless network and I can not add more devices like a ipad2. Got a new ipad2 for my son for Christmas been trying to set it up for Christmas, so on Christmas day I am not trying to do the set up. My problem is I can not get it to log on to the network. I have been putting in the same pass word all my other computers in the house use but it will not work...
My wireless router (E1000) was accidentally unplugged. Since then the wireless LED light doesnt come on and the router cannot be detected. All the other lights are on. I tried to reset it but I dont think it worked, since the power LED didnt blink as its supposed to do after holding reset for 10-15 seconds (or more!!).
I've been using the E1000 for months. I have 2 iphones, an ipod, a windows 7 netbook and a macbook connected wirelessly to it. It's been set at wpa2/wpa mixed mode all this time without a problem. Out of the blue: no wireless connection on any device. I restarted the modem, router, PC's, phones, etc. I've updated the firmware. The only way I can get a wireless connection is to use wep. How can I get the better security and speed of wpa2 back?
I am trying to access the internet with my ipod and it is picking up my wireless connection but it is asking for a password, how do I get my password. I don't remember seeing a password when I hooked up my router several months ago. I called Cisco for some technical support but they wanted money to get me and I am not paying them a dime.
I have a PS3, and i play allot of video games such as all COD game especially MW2. It says i have a strict or moderate NAT. My router is in the same room as the PS3, so i should have a Open Nat.Also i have another question, i bought this Epson printer from Best Buy, i was wondering if I can connect to it Wireless, but i think i cant connect to it wireless cause i dont see the WiFi Certification on the printer or anything hints that it can connect wireless
With the E1000 tthe wireless devices they seem to work just fine, I can access the internet just fine.
For my desktop PC in oder to use the router to get on the internet or to even use the Cisco Connect to check the router, the E1000 needs to be rebooted. I am unable to access the router otherwise. I have tried 3 different LAN cards all with the same results.
The latest firmware notes do not look like upgrading the firmware will work. My Router info from Cisco connect
