I followed the directions here: Support Page , but my verison of Cisco Connect does not have the option to "connect a USB printer".
I am on a macbook pro running OSX 10.7.4 and my verison of Cisco Connect is 1.4 (12005.2). My router's firmware version is 1.0.30.126544. A screenshot of what I see after clicking "add a device" in Cisco Connect is below. The printer is an HP DeskJet F4280.

Oct 10, 2009I cannot seem to figure out how to connect my Canon MP620 Wireless printer to my wireless router. The router is a WRT300N v 1.1 with the latest firmware upgrade. I am using WPA for security. I can connect to the printer wirelessly through my neighbor's open system so it has something to do with security I suspect. I have enabled the AP feature and disabled it to see if that is an issue. That has not changed anything. I have looked at other posts with HP printer issues and access point posts but none of those solutions have worked. The Canon gives me an option to use the WPA, WPA2 and WEP?

Linksys Wireless Router :: Can't Connect E4200 To Brother MFC-J615W Printer
Apr 2, 2013I have had the E4200 for a while with a Brother MFC-J615W printer. I have been having problems keeping the connection between my laptop(HP) and the printer ever since I switched to this router. The only thing that works is completely reinstalling the driver, and then it is touchy when searching the network for the printer. The port and IP address for my printer match, and when I tried pinging my printer, I do not have any success. My laptop registers the printer as offline, as does the router when I go into the devices on the router(via mylocalrouter). To spot check the issue, I have switched the router back to my old one(Belkin) and the printer works flawlessly. I have always been able to connect the printer to the network without any problems, but my laptop and router dont recognize it.

Feb 11, 2011Trying to connect a Samsung clp-315w wirelessly to my E3000. I plug the Ethernet cable into both to configure the printer and I cannot access the printer via its IP address. I suspect the printer is reporting the wrong IP address or it the IP is not being assigned by the router or it is being blocked by the router. Routers firewall is off. I use the Samsung software and it does not see the printer either. It seems the router is not seeing the printer or allowing it access to the network. Spent much time with a good Samsung support person and tried everything and narrowed the problem down to the router connection. Is there a setting on the router which needs to be changed to allow me to see the printer to configure it for wireless access?

Oct 20, 2012I recently purchased a EA4500 for my home network. After hours of searching, I couldn't find any evidence to how I can install a USB printer without the obvious Cisco Cloud Connect. I don't need any software or account to access my router over the net nor any of the features CCC provides (at least as of yet). I'm quite comfortable with using the web interface and easily managed to adjust the router for everything I need except the printer part. I certainly have things to print so I have to connect my printer to the router as it is clearly mentioned on its box that I can access my printer through it. As a last resort I tried to install the software on the CD that came with it to get a link for some "Cisco VUSB" software which I think is the solution but it keeps saying my modem is not connected to the net. It clearly isn't because I don't have an internet connection at home. What I have is a 3G connection which I use for communicating and downloads I need. So why do I need an internet connection on the router for anything and how do I install my printer?

I'm disappointed to find that the USB printer option that is available in firmware version 1.0.02 requires Cisco Connect software. There is no version of Cisco Connect for Linux. I was hoping that this would allow the printer to be shared among my Win7 desktop, Win7 laptop, and my Linux desktop running Ubuntu 10.10. No such luck. WIth the printer connected to the router I can print with any one computer. My previous configuration had the printer connected to my WIn7 desktop so that desktop had to be turned-on to print. The bottom line is that I still can't print from the Linux box without turning on the desktop machine. Cisco please provide a way to connect to the printer without using the Connect software! Or provide a java version that can be run on any OS.

Feb 16, 2011I'm trying to connect my HP C6200 printer to a Linksys WRT54g v2.2 router I've set up to be in client mode with a Netgear N300 WNR2000 v2 router used as the main broadcasting router. I can't seem to get the printer to be seen when the laptop is connected wirelessly to the Netgear.
I have no problems accessing the internet with my laptop plugged into the client router so I know that is communicating with the Netgear. I have no problems pinging the printer from the client router and toggling settings, getting info, etc. I have no problems pinging the Netgear either.
When I go to connect wirelessly to the Netgear I get a message that the printer has been disconnected and I can no longer print test pages or ping the printer.
Is it possible to get this working or have I overlooked one or more settings?

Apr 29, 2012I am having trouble connecting via wireless a Kodak ESP 5250 to a Linksys E1200 Router.I am using the printer console controls to configure the printer.I have verified that the password string is correct.I have changed the Channel to 6 and the encryption method to WPA/WPA2 Personal.The printer is configured to use DHCP to obtain and IP address.The problem that I am experiencing is that the printer is not getting far enough in the connection process to attempt to obtain an IP address.Tis printer was previously connected to a Belkin Router using WPA/WPA2 TKIP. But the Linksys router does not support selecting TKIP.I am not to the point that I can connect a computer (via wireless) to the printer. I have a computer connected via USB cable and that works well.

Jun 13, 2011I recently bought a new Windows 7 system and a Cisco E4200 router. Previously, I had an old Linksys WRT54GS router with an HP 1022NW connected to the network. The HP printer has worked flawlessly all these years and did not even hiccup when Windows 7 came into play. But as soon as I changed out my router, the trouble started. I cannot for the life of me get these two devices to connect.Is the HP1022NW even compatible with the E4200 router when using wireless connections? I know you are supposed to match the settings, but the encryption types are different For example, the default router settings are mixed WPA/WPA2. Previously I had WPA-PSK, which is not an option on this new router. I have followed every instruction I can find in manuals and online to get the wireless connection working, but it either fails the installation, or it latches onto my neighbor's wireless signal, which is not nearly as strong as mine. I believe he has his router set to WEP, which seems to point to the encryption question above. Short of connecting this as a hard wired printer, is there any chance I can get this to work? I have tried resetting it to factory conditions and even that does not work.

I tried to force pair the iPhone by turning off Data Connection, which usually forces the WiFi, which it did, but then when I went to a webpage it wouldn't load even though wifi was showing full signals.I then booted up my lenovo laptop, and it connected to the internet and worked like a charm. Then my iPhone4s started working again. Why not now finally set up the wireless aspects of my HP B209 that I've never used, so I can print from my laptop wirelessly, which I've always wanted to do.So I was able to setup the printer after adding the MAC address of the printer to my belkin router by going to the IP address for the router and adding that specific address, I changed NOTHING ELSE.Internet on laptop not working now. It shows my wireless network with full bars in range, but when I go to connect it simply says it cannot connect, right away. I check my phone, wireless GONE again! I tried to force pair the phone, no dice. I "forget the network" on my phone, it still shows available, I connect put in my password and it immediately denies me, I tried un-plugging the router, restarting all computers, un-plugging router -and- restaring all computers, turning off the printer, repeating all previous steps, and finally I went and deleted the MAC address I added to the router, and all of the above did nothing to fix the solution.

I get 5-10 second dropouts in waves pretty randomly. When it happens, I get a couple at a time, and normally have to stop playing out of frustration.I have a powerline adapter hooked up to my pc to the router. That router has an apple router attached by cat5e running a second wireless network somewhere else in the house.I've tried DMZing my pc, disconnecting the apple router, nothing seems to be fixing it.Here are 3 pathpings while my computer is in DMZ, so the router shouldnt be messing with my DHCP (right?). The first one shows it while i was disconnected twice in less than a minutethink this is on my end or my ISP?
