I just replaced my older G - Router with a new Linksys 3000. My wireless HP 1025n printer was working perfectly well on the old router and now I do not know how to change it so the printer is recognized or works on the new router.
View 1 RepliesOld Compaq Presario 3000+ getting sluggish, freezing has Compac mouse and keyboard. So brother gave me not as old eMachine. Thought I'd use KVM and play music, etc from old Compaq. KVM hooked up. Compaq keyboard works very poorly with eMachine. Compaq mouse doesn't work at all with eMachine -freezes center of screen. Switch to wireless mouse, works fine with eMachine, but then have ot use Compaq mouse if I switch to Compaq PCU. Is there a universal keyboard and mouse that would fix this?

I get 5-10 second dropouts in waves pretty randomly. When it happens, I get a couple at a time, and normally have to stop playing out of frustration.I have a powerline adapter hooked up to my pc to the router. That router has an apple router attached by cat5e running a second wireless network somewhere else in the house.I've tried DMZing my pc, disconnecting the apple router, nothing seems to be fixing it.Here are 3 pathpings while my computer is in DMZ, so the router shouldnt be messing with my DHCP (right?). The first one shows it while i was disconnected twice in less than a minutethink this is on my end or my ISP?
I'm currently using Cisco EPC 3000 cable modem and Airlive wt-2400r router. Afaik the cisco isn't a router, but i'm still having some weird problems with forwarding and apparently even DMZ wont work .

However, when I tried to change the SSID to a unique name, I was unable to connect my computer to the wireless network. I then reset my security settings and left the SSID to the default name "linksys_SES_54125" and it is working just fine. I tried to connect with two separate computers both running Windows 7. My router is the WRT54G v8

The problem is now that when it is all hooked together our phones doesn't work, just dead that is, neither does the router.The router westell A90 from Century Tell works with a dual plug in, a DSL filter, the plug has one side for the phone line and the other for the DSL modem, in other words the westell router cannot be directly connected to the phone line.

I have internet access by directly wiring from the modem to my computer.My router doesn't work anymore. I have a local network, but no internet access. I'm using a Linksys WRT54G, and I don't really know what to do.As far as I remember, setting everything to defaults and factory settings was how I set up my router in the first place and it just worked.

When I set up the router to work on the internet when I first bought it (several years ago), something must have gone wrong in the installation because it works only when connected to the computer by the lead, and NOT wirelessly.
While this is fine for general internet browsing etc on the main computer, my problem now is that I cannot connect anything else to it (such as my Playstation 3) because the router does not work wirelessly and I do not have the WPA key that the PS3 asks for. Is there any way can fix this without doing a complete reset on the router?

I've been using this router for several years with a wireless connection to an iPhone, and wired connections to a computer running Windows Vista, a computer running Windows XP (only connected occasionally and never during these tests), a NetTalk telephone ATA, and a Brother printer. I just got a Windows 8 laptop with wireless. I found that the laptop wouldn't connect wired until I cycled power to the router and rebooted the laptop. OK, that's working to get the laptop to the internet. Vista and iPhone are still working. Printer won't work? Use an IP scanner and the printer is just not there although the light on the router is solid for it. Turn off laptop and cycle power and everything else is back to normal. Let's try wireless. Laptop will not connect. Is it something with the printer? Turn off printer, cycle power, and reboot and laptop wireless now works. Turn on printer and printer doesn't work again. Unplug ATA (hey, it's something to try), cycle power, reboot, everything except telephone is working! Plug ATA back in, no telephone. Cycle power. Back to square one with everything working except laptop. Turn off iPhone, reboot laptop, laptop now OK but printer has disappeared again. Turn iPhone back on and it won't connect either. Cycle power with printer off and everything else works again.

Apparently I screwed something up in the setup such that I've lost my WiFi connection to my laptop and one wireless desktop. Fortunately my wired connection still works. I've carefully tried to restore my system following the online procedure and while the setup looks OK it doesn't link. In the process I have reset the router to the factory setting several times and have installed the latest firmware version. I contacted Linksys support and using remote diagnosis they reached a point where they said that something was wrong with my computer and to investigate further there would be a fee charged. I balked at that since I had tried the setup from several different wired Window 7 and XP computers.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a new Polycom Soundpoint IP550 VOIP phone that was not connecting via my old WRT54GS router. I purchased a new router, the E4200, thinking it was just the age of my original router. It also will not allow the VOIP traffic through. I can connect the VOIP phone directly to my CenturyLink modem and it works. But when I connect it back to the router it stops.
I contacted Cisco support and they had me upgrade the firmware to 1.0.02 build 13 May 24, 2011 version. Also adjusted down the MTU to 1364. That still did not work so they told me to take the router back to the store. I have not done that yet as I want to ensure that the router is really broken and not that I am missing a setting. The tech said that I should be able to plug the VOIP phone into the router and make NO additional changes.
EA2700v1 WPS-PIN using 5GHz does not work. This router includes WPS header in its 5GHz beacon and probe response but the router removes the WPS header from them once WPS-PIN starts. There is no problem with WPS-PIN using 2.4GHz.

The WiFI sees the router, and when I type in the router password, Linksys shows on the WiFi , but it won't download it and show a wireless icon, or let me go online. I looked in the router information and it said my version is v.1.50.9
ON the router, after the model number says ver.6. I see a 6 for downloading a firmware upgrade, but no 1.50. Any solution other than having to buy a new router?
