I entered the password I would use to get to my email, not the system password. How can I get back to that screen to correct the password? View 1 Replies View RelatedI am about a level 4 maybe (10 being highest) when it comes to network configuration.I know what a router is, an IP addreess (external ones from ISP that is) and how to get around a little bit like how to access wireless config , edit properties on network connections and run ipconfig..My setup....I have a cable modem with 18mbs line...hooked into a Linksys E1000 wireless (N) router.From that I have 3 laptops setup (and a desktop thats never used).(none of whats next may be important but added it just in case)
Laptop a. is hardlined into wireless router (so I can edit config) and will be main machine it runs Vista
Laptop b. is connected to wirless connection from router and will main #2
Laptop c. is connected to wireless router
Desktop is connected to wireless router
(all others above run XP as OS)
My wife is running some webcam software that uses our internal IP address for its connection.It is no problem for her to connect her cam to the site with one laptop (any of the above) but when she tries to go to laptop b. and run another connection it says "You are currently broadcasting From This IP and cannot start another connection".
p.s. We have also tested bandwidth connection over and over on many sites (via browser) and it seems that when a cam is setup and the bandwidth is displayed what comes from / to the cam is WAYY slower than what we get in our tests...
1. I set a router admin password different from WiFi password(passphrase).
2. I run my Cisco Connect app and it asks me to change my router admin password.
If I don't change it - I can not use Cisco Connect app.
If I provide my WiFi password then it changes my router admin password.
Maybe it was done to have a "simple" solution - 1 password for everything. But maybe its a bug because router admin password should be different from WiFi password fro security reasons.
I have the router plugged in for internet but do not know the password for the wireless connection. i am running a mac.
i have also tried using the standard admin or password as passwords to get in and am unable too.
I used Cisco connect to set up guest access with a secure password. Cisco Connect now indicates guess access is allowed and shows the password. However, when I actually try to connect to the guest network, it shows no security at all, and I can join the network without a password.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having a NAT issue with my two xboxes. The router is an e1000 v2.1 firmware 2.1.02. One xbox is wired into the router and the other has a wireless adapter. The wireless xbox gets open nat automatically, while the wired one's nat is strict. If i mess with DMZ and turn UPnP off i can get the wired to be open but the wireless one to be strict. Also port forwarding does not seem to work because only one or the other xboxes will get an open NAT. I do have the the correct ports in the port triggering section set to on but that does not seem like it works.

After changing the password and clicking on Save a small screen pops up asking me to verify my router's username and password. When I enter the exact same user name and password it does not accept them. When I try to enter the old user name and password it does not accept them either. I then try combinations of the two and it still will not accept the input. I have reset my router 4 times now and this keeps occurring. I am completely baffled.

Unfortunately, I cannot connect to the configuration of the router by typing url...in a browser, be it wireless or weirdly. For example, Firefox displays "Connection has been reinitialized". Furthermore, when I launch Cisco Connect, it only shows the error "Unable to connect to router". I tried to switch my router off and on, but that doesn't work. Totally resetting the router solves the problem, but not definitely.Is there a solution that does not require resetting my router?

It's been set at wpa2/wpa mixed mode all this time without a problem. Out of the blue: no wireless connection on any device. I restarted the modem, router, PC's, phones, etc. I've updated the firmware. The only way I can get a wireless connection is to use wep. How can I get the better security and speed of wpa2 back?
