This is for a E1000 model router.I recently downloaded Cisco Connect. It wants my router name and password. I don't know the password. How can I find the password or change it? The password might still be the default, but "admin" does not work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys E1000 wireless-n router. I bought the router originally so I could get my Nintendo DS on Wi-Fi. I then realized that DS games require a WEP Key, but my E1000 defaults to WPA/WPA2 mixed mode. My laptop and my Wii connect online with the default settings just fine. My 3DS also seems to be able to connect with the internet router, but not Wi-Fi, for some reason. So when I'm on Cisco connect, I go to Router settings, it brings my web browser to "http://192.168.0.1". From there I go to the Wireless tab, and then click on Wireless Security. I've tried multiple times to change the Security Mode to WEP, and even disabled security. But after I save the settings, the connection on my laptop is lost, and I have to reboot my router all over again, and am back with the default WPA/WPA2.

The Linksys E1000.In my opinion it supports the Wireless-N mode, so does my wireless lan card which is the Atheros AR5B93 (also known as the Acer Nplify 802.11 b/g/n). When I connect to the router, it only connects in normal wireles mode, so no b,g or n mode. But when I look at the Client Tabel of the router all other devices connected to the router are in Wireless-G mode. I used Cisco connect to set up guest access with a secure password. Cisco Connect now indicates guess access is allowed and shows the password. However, when I actually try to connect to the guest network, it shows no security at all, and I can join the network without a password.

After changing the password and clicking on Save a small screen pops up asking me to verify my router's username and password. When I enter the exact same user name and password it does not accept them. When I try to enter the old user name and password it does not accept them either. It looks like TIVO only does WEP, not WPA. My WRT54G Router has been reset after severe weather conditions, the wireless in now unsecure. I am trying to change it back to secure mode under wireless / security wireless, but it does not allow me to do so. The security mode remains disabled and does not change to WEP or WPA.

I've tried 4 times, and every time, i've got to hold the reset button to reset to factory settings in order to access the management pages! I enter the new password in both fields, and then click to save the settings. It restarts. Then i try to log in - and it doesn't accept the new password. It doesn't accept the default password.
