Linksys Wireless Router :: Can't Change Security Mode From Disabled

Trying to secure Linksys WRT54G V8 wireless router. Can't change security mode from 'Disabled'!?
I followed this Post from EXPERT: "Connecting two routers wired - the definitive answer"
[url]...
I got the two routers working but the second one (not using it as a router) is not allowing me to change security mode from "disable" to WEP or anything else. The following Post didn't answered this issue: "Can't change wireless Security Mode on my WRT54G V5"
I'm trying to change the wireless security mode on my folks' WRT54G to see if I can get the wireless adapter on their new TIVO to talk to the router. It looks like TIVO only does WEP, not WPA. I get into the wireless page of the router and when I try selecting anything but "WPA Personal", the selected choice flips back to "WPA Personal" in less than a second. I've updated the firmware but no change.
My WRT54G Router has been reset after severe weather conditions, the wireless in now unsecure. I am trying to change it back to secure mode under wireless / security wireless, but it does not allow me to do so. The security mode remains disabled and does not change to WEP or WPA.
This problem is on a Cisco E1200 (FW: 1.0.03) and using a browser to modify the routers settings.I'm connected to the router from a wired connection, and I'm trying to turn off the encryption, and just have the router have the setting "disabled" as the selection for "Wireless Security".
However, it seems when I do this, the moment I press "Save" the router gets disconnected from my computer (the wired connection) and the only way to get reconnected is to run the Cisco Connect software from the computer that's hard wired to the router.
Once I get back to that screen in the routers settings, and try it again, the same thing happens. If I change anything else under the routers settings, the connection stays connected, but only when I change the wireless security settings to disabled I see this problem.
I have a Nat Strict problem with my router model WRT160N. I want to make a dedicated server with UT3.I tried many things like disabled all security in the router or disable UPNP, fowarding every ports that Unreal Tournament need or DMZ settings. I am running a batch file to start the dedicated server... but still have '' Nat is now strict'' in the log of my batch file. I cant see my server in the master server list inside the UT3 game. I tried to make the server without my router, directly connected to the modem and then it works instantly.
This is for a E1000 model router.I recently downloaded Cisco Connect. It wants my router name and password. I don't know the password. How can I find the password or change it? The password might still be the default, but "admin" does not work.
I have a Linksys E1000 wireless-n router. I bought the router originally so I could get my Nintendo DS on Wi-Fi. I then realized that DS games require a WEP Key, but my E1000 defaults to WPA/WPA2 mixed mode. My laptop and my Wii connect online with the default settings just fine. My 3DS also seems to be able to connect with the internet router, but not Wi-Fi, for some reason. So when I'm on Cisco connect, I go to Router settings, it brings my web browser to "http://192.168.0.1". From there I go to the Wireless tab, and then click on Wireless Security. I've tried multiple times to change the Security Mode to WEP, and even disabled security. But after I save the settings, the connection on my laptop is lost, and I have to reboot my router all over again, and am back with the default WPA/WPA2.
I have a WRT160N that I've been using with my HDTV for months. Now I want to connect a BluRay player to it, but the setup requires me to enter a security code, and the one I had for the router doesn't work. Can I change the number, or at least double-check the number I do have?
I have an E3000 router guest access set up via CD. Is is possible to set up a Security Mode setting on this rather than it being open to all. I cannot find anything for Admin to set this up, it seems a glitch in security?
I've been trying to remove an invading computer from my network. My ISP told me to change the password on my router. I followed all instructions, but it returned to the original setting each time. I've been unplugging modem and router, whenever I am not online, but when I am online and the invader is also, everything is very slow. At one point I was not even able to get online, as I got the error message that another computer was using my IP address.
I am completely baffled by what is going on, on our network. We have four HP C4005 Printers. All of them connected to different switches around the network. About every 1-3 hours they all give the error 49FF09 (which is pretty vague, basically a network connectivity issue). Have to reboot to get rid of the error, then it will work again for an hour or so and give the same error (whether print jobs have been sent or not). This started a few days ago out of no where.
I am starting to think its an issue with the network, because they will all go offline at the same time. If I run a constant ping to them, they will all go offline at the same time and return the error. We use all cisco equipment. If I check the port statuses they all say up 100 full with no errors.
I have tried disabling sleep mode on the printers, turned off multicasting, updated firmware for printer and for jetdirect, and used different drivers.
Linksys has disabled my wireless adaptor for wireless devices such as my Netflix streaming movie player. They are asking for my routers user name and password which I am not accessing right, I get "401 Authorization required" How do I factory restore my router? It's a D-Link DES-1105 router model BEFW1154V4. I need to enable my network for wireless connection. How to get my routers user name and password? I 've had my Netflix player hooked up and working for almost a year and have never encountered this problem. Im going to purchase a linksys wireless adaptor the first of the month with having a secure connection to linksys instead of having to wait all day for wireless linksys with the Ativa adaptor I already have?
I have a cisco e1000 route. i've already set up wireless network successfully with cisco connect software. However, when i logged in web-based config, i disabled NAT with the routing table is unchanged. the problem is anyone from the network to which the Internet WAN port links can ping and receive reply from PCs inside the wireless network but it's impossible for the reverse direction and any traffic from the inside of e1000 can't be passed through.
I call century link because my router was not connecting at the proper speed of 7 mbps. That problem was easily remedied over the phone but the lady said she could see several devices connected. This lost me a bit because I have a double router configuration. The Action tech PK5000 i turned into nothing more that an internet modem. I disabled the DHCP and configured my Linksys E1200 for all the internal DHCP so there is only one cable going to the PK5000. I should technically speaking look like one user on there network with natural protection from the second router.
I just purchased an e4200 in a corporate environment where we already have a wireless router. I am not able to connect the 2 devices via a LAN cable and am wondering if I can get bridge mode working over the network (wireless). I set the Linksys to bridge mode and assigned it an ip address. I disabled all wireless settings, etc. I then connected the internet port of the Linksys into a data port (wall jack) that connects to our flat network switch. It says it's connected under "Status" but I'm not sure how to confirm this.
I had to restore my laptop yesterday and i reset my router (WRT100). I ran all the Microsoft updates, but I didn't do anything with the router other than going to the Linksys site to try to make it secure. My computer seems to be recognizing the router (although it is still saying it is an unsecured connection) but I cannot get on the internet. The problem seems to be when I pull up the Network Connections window the "Internet Gateway-Internet Connection" is showing disabled. I cannot enable.Everytime I try, it says "connecting...Connection failed!". I can plug the ethernet from the modem to the computer and it works and the "Internet Gateway" doesn't appear, but when I try through the router it does. I want to set up the router because I have two computers that need internet access.
Three connections are listed--Wireless Access, LAN, and 1394 Connection. All are listed as connected, firewalled. The second computer is also giving me a problem. There is the wireless issue, but when I connect the ethernet from the computer directly to the modem I am asked if I want to connect via Broadband and am asked for a username/password. There is no username/password. I've contacted my ISP (Cox cable) and confimred there is no password.
why my SSID still displays even though I have the SSID Broadcast "Disabled" for 5 GHz and 2.4Ghz configurations. The name of my network shows full signal strength and a lock next to the name but I was under the impression if I have disabled the SSID broadcast it shouldn't show up at all and would force a user to manually input the network name when trying to connect to it. I have the router configured to only allow certain MAC addresses wireless access as well. Router is running Firmware Version: 1.0.03.Also, my primary computer my iMac running 10.7.2 boots up or is brought out of sleep mode I constantly need to go up to the top of my screen and re-select my network.
Windows server 2008 (providing DHCP and DNS) 192.168.89.1 on all Cisco SG 300-20 (switch) 192.168.89.3 all Clients(15 x DHCP assigned IPs) connected to switch WRT300N(192.168.89.2) connected to switch Internet modem connected to WRT300N
To achieve this I need to disable DHCP on the WRT300N, since my server is providing DHCP.The issue I have is that when I disable DHCP at the WRT300N, I lose internet connection (connected to either switch or direclty to WRT300N).
I have a new WAP54G Access point in our network. I would like to change WPA security settings, but am not able to do it.I have done everything as installation leaflet says, and I get to the 5th point Status sheet: Firmware version v.304, MAC address (numbers), IP address 192.168.1.245, SSID linksys, Channel channel 6 and WEB security Disable
What I would like to do, is change SSID and have WPA2 security. When I am clicking "Yes", it goes to the next sheet "Password", I write admin and click "Enter". I will have Pop-up window "Setup Access violation at address 0049BDB6 in module 'Setup.exe'. Write of address C933016A."
The update "failed," due to an "unexpected error." Wireless connection is disabled, although, as you have probably noticed, I can still connect to the internet (using an ethernet cable from my router to my laptop OSX 10.6.8). Error Code 3018 is unknown to Cisco's website. Or should I just start over with the installation disk for my E4200 router?
I purchased a Linksys EA3500 about two months ago, brought it home and set it up with my DSL provider and everything was great, until sometime last week, and since then my download speeds have just plummeted to basically nothing. I did some troubleshooting but I cannot seem to find what the issue is. I have checked all the cables etc, and I know that it is definitely something with the router itself..My current Speedtest.net speeds are as follows (I am paying for a 5mb connection) with the EA3500.Ping of 15ms Download speed of .67mbps, Upload speed of .60mbps.When I remove the router and hook straight to the DSL modem I get the following results.Pink of 12ms Download speed of 4.89mbps, Upload speed of .60mbps
- I have tried to reset the router both by holding the reset button and through the configuration application. - I have enabled and disabled wireless to see if that was slowing things down - I have plugged in my old WRT54G and I get the 12ms, 4.89mbps,.60mbps results on it (so I know its the EA3500) - I tried putting the computer in the DMZ - I have changed the ports that the computer is plugged into - I have disabled and enabled IPV6 on both router and network card - Firmware version - 1.1.38.134141
I am trying to diable aggressive mode, for security reasons. I have a Cisco 3825 running c3825-advsecurityk9-mz.124-24.T2.bin. When I disable aggressive mode with ROUTER(config)#crypto isakmp aggressive-mode disable , I am unable to connect. The syslog message displayed is > %CRYPTO-5-IKMP_AG_MODE_DISABLED: Unable to initiate or respond to Aggressive Mode while disabled and the client error is Reason 412: The remote peer is no longer responding.
We have a 1262 which was loaded with some recovery image for testing. After this, it doesn't get registered to the wireless controller.
we tried moving it back to autonomous mode and then again back to lightweight to have it join the controller. But it doesnt join the controller, debugs on the devices does not show any logs.
I have disabled windows firewall in Windows 2003 server control panel but only few ports are shown opened when i scanned with advanced port scanner why other ports are closed. How to open the closed ports?
