I have an E1000 wireless N router. My husband set up all of the original configuration when we purchased it. I have no problem with my laptop. I want to use my Iphone and Blackberry for wifi use. I find the network on my iphone but it requests IP address, router, etc. information. The Iphone is a 3g.

The Linksys E1000.In my opinion it supports the Wireless-N mode, so does my wireless lan card which is the Atheros AR5B93 (also known as the Acer Nplify 802.11 b/g/n). When I connect to the router, it only connects in normal wireles mode, so no b,g or n mode. But when I look at the Client Tabel of the router all other devices connected to the router are in Wireless-G mode. Even my laptop doesn't connect in Wireless-G mode.I want to have my laptop connected in Wireless-N mode. What do I have to do, to make this working?

I open the router using "admin", reset Wireless Security and reset my password. Wireless laptops, wireless camera now works fine but now iPhone will not connect? When I first set up my router, I used the same user name and pw as I had for my old router and my iPhone connect just fine. I decided to use the guest network after one of my sons friends was sitting outside one morning using my network. I told the friend the pw for the guest and changed the pw for my network and created an key on a thumb drive. Now I cannot connect my iphone. When I try to use guest is seems to work ok, but I want to use my network. I chose my network on my iphone and it simply says unable to connect. That is the only info/choice I am given.

The iPhones are running the latest firmware 4.3. The E4200 has also been updated to the latest firmware 1.0.01 build 10. I do not experience these problems with various laptops, and I did not experience them with a previous Cisco router WRT610N, nor with a D-link DIR825 in another location. The security is set to WPA2 Personal and all the other settings are the same from the prior router. If I disable the security, I do not experience the connection problems, but still experience the slow performance. If I switch back to the WRT610N, I do not experience any problems. this a E4200 firmware issue yet to be resolved?

I run the setup for the 3 webcams. If I use my dlink on the local network it work, if I used my dlink from let say at work, it work too. If I used the i pad in WiFi it works.
The problem is when I try to use the i phone or the i pad in 3G mode, sometimes it work but most of the time it doesn't, after about 60sec it says something like check your network settings... When I'm able to see something in my dlink app on the i phone, if I return back to the list after that it doesn't work if I switch camera.
Question is, do I have to forward any port on the router in the virtual server section? I'm assuming no since sometime it work and sometimes no. Do I have to activate the UpnP on the router too?
I have a iphone that will not retain the password for a WRT54g. Each time I leave the house, I have to renter the wifi password on my phone. It remembers other networks, just not the house.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am having problems with connectivity and my iPhone 5. The Wi-Fi is okay in some parts of my home network, however in others it is abysmmal. When I bring my computer to the places where the iPhone has problems with signal strength/staying connected the computers have full or almost full strength and no problems. I upgraded firmware for the router, spoke with applecare, have reset the router multiple times, and have been trying different channels. I had the phone in with the Apple store where they concluded nothing seems wrong with the hardware. The phone doesn't seem to have problems like this on other wifi networks I have tried. Using a speed test on the iPhone at home in the low connectivity areas results in horrendously poor latency numbers.

I didnt worry about it until I got an Iphone and now .I was able to re-establish the wireless connection on my netbook today after a ton of research and messing around with the settings and then downloaded network magic, which finally fixed the problem. I believe that it automatically transmitted the WEP key to the Netbook, which is what I am missing when I try to log into the network on the Iphone.How do I get this password to show up on Network Magic? When I look at the settings, it does not show the actual numbers, they are hidden.
