Linksys Wireless Router :: IPhone And IPad Cannot Connect To E1500
Jun 26, 2012
I recently connected E1500 to time wanrner cable modem for my home. 3 laptops work fine, but iphone and ipad can not connect to wireless. But iphone and ipad connected to linksys guest automatically.
I have a linksys 1500, connected to a cablemodem. It has firmware 1.0.04 (but this problem happened with earlier firmware that it shipped with).I have a problem with the DHCP server on the E1500 - or maybe its a bad client - one of my clients, happens to be an iPad-2 doesn't seem to get properly connected. all of my other wireless DHCP clients - windows vista, windows 7, linux, android, mac and an old iPad1 all connect without problems. I also have wired devices that get their IP via DHCP for my TV, blu-ray, slingbox, DVR, without problems, its just this iPad2 that tries to connect, seems that it does, but can't access anything on the internet.I see this on the DCHP Client list (Status -> Local Network -> DHCP Client Table from the web interface) and I'm quite sure this is the cause of the problem with the iPad2. that MAC address is the address of my iPad2, and that IP# is the one I reserved for it.
I've set up that MAC address to have a reserved IP#, and forced the client name to Rays-IPad2 (as its named on the device) but it has the same behaviour as letting the DCHP server give it an IP# from its address pool. And if I reboot the E1500 and reboot the iPad2, it does actually connect for a few seconds, I can bring up a page in safari, etc, but soon within a few seconds, it switches the client name to this display of question-marks (non printable characters presumably) and it can no longer get to the internet. Is there anything I can do or try? There isn't another DCHP server running on the network, I don't know if something with the cable modem is causing a conflict, and if it were I'm not sure what I could do about that.
My pc was working fine till I shut it down n restarted it and now it won't connect to the Internet I am running windows vista 32 bit service pack 1 and is wired to my router but I can connect my ipad(which I'm using now) and iPhone through wireless
Is it possible to make Any Connect VPN from IPad/iPhone to 871w? IPSec VPN is working perfectly but cant get my Cisco AnyConnect iOS client to connect. I have config webvpn and it beeing user/pw prompted but keep getting the following error:
"the required license for this type of VPN client is not avaiable on the Secure gateway. Please contact Your network administrator".
I have a wireless Linksys E1500 router, and for quite a few months now, my router just stopped working properly. It quit, I unplugged everything and plugged it back in, and it worked, but from that point on, it's been displaying this:
I just purchased a e1500 to replace my wrvs4400n which sadly died. yea I do loose a lot of features. I set up everything without a hitch but when I try to use Wireless-N mode only, none of my computers can connect to the router and all my computers use N cards. I'm stuck on using Mixed Mode which limits my speed to G speeds. I didn't purchase this to be a G router but an N router and it seems N mode has issues. I am on the current firmware.
I just purchased an E1500 router to create a wireless connection. I had been using an older Cisco model previously. I can't get it to connect. I have tried everything that is written in the support articles. In particular, I followed the article 3686, about setting up a router with cable internet modem, after the Cisco Connect didn't create the connection automatically. When I plug the laptop directly into my modem, I have a connection. I have reset the modem and the router several times in the process. I've been to the web-based setup page and followed all of the instructions about cloning the MAC. When I hit the release and renew IP addresses (under the Status tab), nothing happened. They remained 0.0.0.0
Called my ISP, but they say it's a router issue.I think I'm going to start from scratch--uninstalling the Cisco Connect, reinstalling it, turning everything off and back on again to see if it somehow will work automatically.
My use case is very simple I want to connect iPhone/iPad using pptp to my home network. I purchased the 180W and looks like I am not able to connect mobile devices to it. My Setup is simple I have ST536v6 (firmware 7.4.4) modem in bridge mode and Cisco RV 180W connect to my ISP using Ppoe. I followed the Admin guide and created the pptp user. If I connect from internal network it connects but when I try to connect the device from WAN it just does not work.
I have an E1500 N300 Router, I've had it for 3 or 4 weeks now. Ever since I've had it, I can no longer send e-mails out with Eudora nor Outlook. I've tried using about 3 different SMTP's just to verify that it wasn't a server issue. I tried Port Forwarding in the router settings. I selected SMTP and POP3 and checked Enable on both, then save changes. But they don't appear to be taking, as when I go back in and try to set them again, it let's me and doesn't give me a Port Overlap warning. I've been told that I shouldn't need to mess with Port Forwarding at all, I just need to go into the Firewall settings and open up the SMTP, POP3, and IMAP ports. However, I don't see any settings in my Router settings to allow this, aside from Port Forwarding and it's not actually saving the changes. I will admit, I'm not all that great with this stuff, and this is the first time I've had any issues with a Router stopping me from E-mailing.
I have a Linksys E1500 wireless router that I have had for about 3 months and it has been working great up until today. I realized non of my wireless devices could detect the network, so I got on my PC which is hard wired to the router and it to says it had no network connection. So I power cycled both the router and the modem. When it came back up, this PC that I am typing from now has an internet connection but is says it is connected to Network 2 instead of the routers name for the network. My other PC that is hard wired to the router says its not connected to the network, and when I open up the Cisco Connect software it tells me my router is not plugged in. Also, nothing works wirelessly. In the web control panel it still has all my setting intact but still looks like its not connected to the internet.
My iphone wireless connectivity to my Linksys router that I have put up with for a year, but as I now have the same issue with my ipad I've decided enough is enough. The issue is that they both connect OK to the router and therefore to the internet, but after a short period of time (minutes) whilst it appears that they are still connected to the router the connection seems to completely hang. At that point I have to go into settings on the iphone/ipad and turn off the wireless connection and turn it on again. This then allows connectivity and internet activity for 5-10 (15-20) minutes before it hangs again.I have no problems with connecting to any other router from the iphone and ipad. And I also have no problems with my PC's connecting to the Linksys router.
I have local WI-Fi network with 2 Macs, 2 PC's, iPhone, iPod and i Pad at home on Link sys WAG120N router. On i Pad when I try to connect to Internet I have to turn WiFi off and on. It works for a while but after waking i Pad from sleep I have to switch off and on again. It really drives me crazy. Sometimes (hardly ever) it happens on my iPhone 4 (same network setup as on i Pad). Other devices connect to Internet whenever I need.
So I have this E1500 Router that worked fine for the past 5 months, then out of the blue, the wireless feature ceased to function... laptops were not being able to connect to the wireless, the router was also not broadcasting the SSID.So, here's what I have done so far:
1. Check the router software settings, all was good there.
2. Did a "hardware reset" pushing the red button. (now this solved the problem, BUT only for a day, when power is turned off for the night, the next day it's non-functional again. The cycle can be repeated daily, but its a pain to reset and set it up everyday)
3. Updated the Firmware, and this somehow solved the problem for 3 Days... and now it's back to non-functional, again out of the Blue.
Is the Router just busted and it's not remembering the settings?
I have a Wag 160n router which works fine with desktop pc connected by ethernet & wirelessly to laptop. My nokia phone finds the wi-fi signal but apple i-phone & ipad dont!
Purchased the E1500, updated the firmware and have excellent wireless connectivity. The problem occurs when I connect for a video chat the internet disconnects and then reconnects.
I have an issue with my home network that is really stressing me out now. I have a Thomson TG585 v8 router that my laptop, iPad and iPhone connect to no problem but my iPad/iPhone won't talk to my laptop.. I want to be able to use my iPad to remote in to my laptop to watch movies etc. Network sharing is on the laptop and I've checked that all devices are on the same network..I can't ping the iPad or iPhone from the laptop either.
We have just installed the E1200 wireless router. We are able to access the internet from our home computers, however we cannot get the IPAD connected. When we try to find our wireless network to connect to it doesn't display yet our we can still see our neighbors wireless networks.
I have a WRT320N router with firmware version 1.0.01 build 008. I just got an iPad and while it can find my router, I can't access the WiFi when I enter my password. I can use the router with my laptop so I know the connection and password are ok.I've seen two administrators on here suggest the same thing. And one person responded that it worked. The identical directions were:
Try changing some advanced wireless settings on the router.Connect the computer to the router with the Ethernet cable. Open the setup page of the router.Click on wireless tab and set the configuration view to manual. Change the wireless channel to 11. Save the settings.Go to wireless tab and click on Advanced wireless settings.Change Beacon interval to 75, RTS threshold to 2307 and fragmentation threshold to 2306. Save the settings.Try to connect to the wireless network again and see if that works.
1 - I think my computer already is connected to the router with the Ethernet cable - I mean there is an Ethernet cable attached to both my computer and my router - in slot 1 on the router
2 - the only thing I know how to access is the Linksys EasyLink Advisor. What and where is the setup page of the router?
What should i do ? Reset ? How ? maybee i did not set the cable properly ( what is an ethernet cable ? ) the one i have is a short cable with what looks like telephone jacks at either ends. one end is plugged in my comcast modem and the other into my mini mac.
We are implementing a new corporate wireless network with Cisco 5508 WLC's and C3602I LWAP's. We are not running any RADIUS or EAP at the moment and are starting with WPA2 w/ AES with a pre-shared key to begin piloting. The issue we are having is iOS based devices (iPhone/iPad) do not seem to want to connect. We just get a could not join wireless network messages. We have had success with several Windows based laptops, my MacBook connects, as well as several different Android devices.Looking at the logs on the WLC I see these entries which correspond to the MAC address of my iPhone.
*apfMsConnTask_6: Jul 17 17:25:20.620: %APF-3-CHECK_SUPP_RATES_FAILED: apf_utils.c:376 Could not check supported rates. Missing Supported Rate. Length :0. Mobile MAC: 24:ab:81:92:4d:97.
on a 5508 WLC can we create new SSID for I PAD / IPHONE Users without having ISE, only I phone / I PAD are allowed to be authenticated rest all should be denied. IS this possible?
I'm using a WRT54GL(4.30.14) Router with a Charter Cable Modem running 5 computers on the network with 1 being wired and the rest are wireless. When my family comes over they can connect with their iPads and laptops but for some reason I can not get this iPhone 4G to connect. We put in the password and it says unable to connect. Are there any special settings that need to be made to the router to let the IPhone connect?
My laptop connects fine, so I know it is working, but I cannot get my IPhone to connect. I keep getting an error message stating "Incorrect Password" but I know the password entered is correct.
All networking had been working great until recent power failure. Then laptops failed to connect, found my router WRT54G had become insecure. I open the router using "admin", reset Wireless Security and reset my password. Wireless laptops, wireless camera now works fine but now iPhone will not connect? I have double checked the password, it is the same as the router. Is there something else in the router that needs changing for the iPhone connection?
when i go on my iphone and click on the wirless network i just set up, it does not ask me for a password. instead i get a screen titled "IP Address" with three buttons below (dhcp, bootp, and static) with a list of blanks for ip address, subnet mask, router, dns, etc. below that.
When I first set up my router, I used the same user name and pw as I had for my old router and my iPhone connect just fine. I decided to use the guest network after one of my sons friends was sitting outside one morning using my network. I told the friend the pw for the guest and changed the pw for my network and created an key on a thumb drive. Now I cannot connect my iphone. When I try to use guest is seems to work ok, but I want to use my network. I chose my network on my iphone and it simply says unable to connect. That is the only info/choice I am given.
I don't want to allow any Guest access to my network, but I do want to connect my iPad to my network. I've successfully added another computer to the network but the router setup seems to want the iPad to connect only as a Guest .Is there a way to treat my iPad as another computer (not as Guest) so that it my network recognizes it in the same way it recognizes the second computer (without entering a password)?
Region : India Model : TD-W8951ND Hardware Version : V4 ISP : MTNL
I m using TD-W8951ND wifi router with MTNL connection. The LAN connection with PC works just fine but i m not able to connect my iphone or ipad with the router. I have reset the router many times and also retored my iphone but still no luck. Pl tell me what are the settings needed for wifi connections.. Currently i have set the wireless mode to 802.11 b+g+n. Setting it to just 802.11 b sometimes connects with the iphone but never with ipad.
IPods and IPads to connect to stand alone AP1131? My scenario is as follows:
There is a section of a campus that is covered by 14 stand alone AP1131 were I experience the problem. The security parameters are: 802.1x, wpa enterprise, tkip
The other section is under WLC also AP1131 but in this case in WLANs/Scurity/Leyer 2 I checked boxes:
Wonder if the fact that I chose WPA2, AES makes a difference with stand alone mode? Anyways I tried configuring AES in stand alone APs and it didn't make a difference since I could not connect either.
